  1. If you want a chrome bumper that's styled the same as the fiberglass and carbon fiber one's from MSA, your talking about what they call "European bumpers". They don't have the provisions for the bumper guards and rubber inserts. If your not in a big hurry, you can find them on eBay once in a while. MSA carries them as well, even though they don't list them in their catalog (at least they used too, and the quality isn't the best). If you can find a good used set, getting them rechromed is always an option as well. My car isn't done yet, but here's a couple of shots of my European bumpers.

  3. Yes, my drivers side mount corner is shaved off to provide plenty of clearance for the steering shaft.
  4. You can look at my web site www.570z.com. The A/C delete bracket will fit, I'm using one with my setup. Are you talking about the VATS? I think you can program it out, use a resistor or some people just use the LT1 iginition switch. Search for 'LT1 VATS' and you will find a lot of information. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113255http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113255
  5. I'm using the PCM that came with the 94 LT1. I'm aware of the A/C request signal, and I even attempted to wire it in so that it gets signal when I turn on my A/C. In addition I added a couple of potentiometers and adjusted them to ensure that the PCM would think the evaporator temperature and A/C pressure were within range. One problem is that the PCM expects the pressure to rise once the A/C is on, so I would have to turn the potentiometer every time I turned on the A/C. I would also need to hook up the A/C clutch relay control and A/C clutch status in such a way that the PCM doesn't throw any codes.
  6. Even if you're only after the 'sound', you probably won't be able to get the sound you want unless you can match the pulse with the negative reflection...not to mention other factors that contribute to the overall sound as well. I'd hate to see you go to all the cost and trouble of creating a complete system to give you the sound you're after and then have it wind up sounding pretty similar to the way it does now. I spent quite a bit of time and money to get mine to sound lumpy and I love it. Setting off alarms, making children cry, and rattling a few windows are just side benefits.
  7. Yep, that's a pic of my 570 ...well 5.70 liters that is.
  8. Looks great! Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes.
  9. Here's your pairing answer: 1/6 8/5 4/7 and 3/2 http://www.rocky-road.com/thorley.html
  10. I found this thread that has pictures in it from a Porsche 928. Is that something like what you're thinking of doing? http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3263 At first I had no idea how you would cross over, but now I see it's done just before the collectors. I bet that would cause some clearance problems. There's also a couple of cool pic's of a GT40 replica with 180 degreee headers.
  11. Received the new IAC valve yesterday from Rock Auto. Got it installed, cranked it up and everything seemed fine. Turned on the AC and a momentary drop in idle before the PCM is able to compensate with the now working Idle Air Control Valve. Thanks Mark! I've got to make a couple of test runs, but it looks like everything is working properly...now I can focus on the body and paint.
  12. I bought a stage one from eBay like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RACING-STAGE-1-CLUTCH-KIT-93-97-CAMARO-FIREBIRD-LT1_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQihZ005QQitemZ150026761968QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I haven't been too hard on it yet, so we'll have to see how well it holds up. They also sell the stockers for $200 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VALEO-93-97-CAMARO-FIREBIRD-TRANS-AM-LT1-Clutch-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQihZ005QQitemZ150026743641QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I picked mine up, since they're close by, and they seem like a good company to deal with.
  13. I guess you can refer to me as "Karnac the Magnificent" (sp?) since the red boxes appeared just as predicted. ... If you don't know who "Karnac the Magnificent" is then you're too young to be here (or maybe I'm just old).
  14. If you can swap one you can probably swap the other as well, so I wouldn't use that as criteria for deciding which way you want to go. I think you should pick what you like best and something you won't tire of quickly. If you want dependability, high stock horsepower, and good mileage you can't beat a late model Chevy V8 (LT1 or LSx if you can swing it). An L28 can make some power, but it will take some work to make it happen. Think about what your end goal is and then create a plan that will get you there. If you like the L series engines don't bother throwing in a V8 and vice versa.
  15. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get into the high teens or even into the 20 mpg range if you can keep your foot out of it. Of course there are many factors that can affect your mileage including the state of tune and various installed components. If your going to be doing any high speed cruising an overdrive will help a great deal. Upgrading to fuel injection could help as well. Congrats on getting her running well, and good luck with her in the future.
  16. I've dealt with MSA a few times, and for the most part I don't have any problems with them. They tried three times to get me a decent rear european bumper, but I didn't accept any of them due to manufacturing problems (problems with the chrome and imperfections in the metal that were chromed over). They finally just gave me my money back and I found one somewhere else. I think that the problem is with some of the employees. Some are very knowledgeable and otheres don't have a clue. I think we need to find the name of a knowledgeable sales person and publish that name so we can all ask for this person when we place orders with them. I'm not sure, but I think one of the persons that I thought seemed to know what was going on is named Kurt.
  17. Looks great! Were you able to find that locally or did you have to have it shipped from the states? I thought Chevrolet V8 engines were hard to find in Australia.
  18. This thread took a hard left...now we're talking about mail order brides. You probably would have gotten a nicer one if you would have coughed up another couple of bucks.
  19. Good info posted by Gollum, but I think the exemption includes 75's...so try to stay away from 76 and up.
  20. What really makes Rebird's look diffrerent is his front wheels. In all the other pictures the front wheels sit as far forward in the openings as the rear one's do. Rebird's front wheels look like they are sitting rearward in the openings.
  21. Wow, that does look really far forward...in fact the front wheels look too far back as well. The picture makes it look like the wheelbase is too short for the car. Here's a pic I found on the internet with stock wheels The rear wheel sits forward a little, but it doesn't look like it has as much space between the tire and the back of the wheel opening. As you can see the front wheel looks farther forward than in your pic as well.
  22. Every time one of these reputation threads starts everyone starts giving each other good reputation, but before its all over sometimes bad reputation will get handed out as well.
