  1. Not much to report other than running consistent 11.1's @123. 2500' DA Haven't had time to get the car dialed in. Only made 4 passes this weekend, and got told to slow down......or rather to "shut the bottle off" lol. I (regrettably) didn't make a hit on the bottle. Here's the vid. Bad 60', and the tires started to shake. My MT ET Drags went to shit, and were impossible to balance. Not sure what to do about it...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6PoT1JTqqY piss on it, i cant get it to embed.
  2. Looks amazing man. I PM'd you. Couple questions!
  3. I know I could probably squeeze a 9.50 for sure, MAAAAYBE a 10.50 slick under my car, with the perfect wheels. If i'd raise it up, it would help. If you're already solid axle, why not just mini-tub it and throw a 10.50 out back? PLEASE link me to some of the info on your SRA swap. I'd like to peruse it!
  4. Just go buy a flanged bolt at the hardware store. M10x1.50x 40 would be a good start. Might be shorter/ longer
  5. You are correct. The M12 gears were used in the boats. aka GTO's and SSR's.
  6. Something like that. Drove over 700 miles round trip, no issues. I've already driven 2200 miles this year (in 5 weeks), vs the 3400 the previous whole year!
  7. Wanted to check in and say that the car weighed 2903 with me in it crossing the tech scales on friday. ~1/2 tank of fuel, with the bottle, hitch, helmet, etc. I weigh 165, so that puts the car right around 2740.
  8. I'll have to play with it some more, yes. MT ET Drag 26x8.50x15
  9. Went 11.5x, 11.3x, and a best of 11.079@123 last night on motor. Only got three passes, and the track wasn't hooking well. Only cut a 1.65 60'. Did spray it once but it just blew the tires off, and I got out of it. coasted to an 11.5x Going to the track next weekend as well. Still chasing that damn 10 sec time slip!
  10. Tick MC will net you back a couple hundo's. (assuming its for an F Body). Yeah, that LS7 clutch will drive nice, but it won't last long if you beat on it. I'd look at a brass shifter cup bushing as well. I had a B&M in one car - not a huge fan. I have a factory hurst with a short shifter on it. I'd like an MGW ultimately i think. Looks like a good list of parts..... assuming its put together correctly. The dildo who put my current trans together (before i bought and rebuilt it) forgot the shift fork pads, and it ended up grenading the 3/4 synchro hub, and took the counter shaft with it. esssssssppeeeeeeeennnsive.
  11. Thanks! The carrier was a last minute fix. I intended to make one out of steel, but the shop closed before I could go pick it up yesterday. I'm going to the track tonight, so I had to have it! License plate is on the car. I don't know exactly if its legal- not being able to see it that is. Its on a flip up. I'll post a picture once I remove the carrier. You can't even tell there's a hitch!
  12. I built a carrier to go in the receiver hitch as well. Its just a very temporary solution for cargo space. I'm getting a little flex out of the board thats bolted to the insert, but most of that is just rotation of the insert in the hitch.....if that makes sense. Its not that bad in real life.
  13. Finished installing the hitch last night. You can see here the pin is very accessible. Also insulated the floor.... Kinda blurry.
  14. or a TKO600? Haha. With that though, you'd need to beef it up out of the box.
  15. Stock t56 will NOT last long on that power level. I'd jump straight to a viper spec t56, or a Magnum t56, or a TR6060 if I had it to do over.
  16. Update! Uninstalled the hitch, and prepped/ painted it. Trimmed the plastic to fit around it Also started doing work on my trailer to be. Picked up this gem a while back. And tonight after I started tearing it down Big things for this trailer - I hope.
  17. Thats just after the kit kicks in haha. 1000psi moves faster than 60 psi
  18. Yes. I thought about making a plate for the bottom side, but I think it will be more than substantial with the large washers i used. The problem with this is, IDK how many people are OK taking a cutoff wheel to the body of their car. Granted you won't be able to see any of it unless I have a hitch in. Another thing, It wasn't just a slap together and weld project. The rear of my car is raked up about 5" (on the frame rails at least). So I made it tilt slightly down to achieve 0 degrees (level). Kinda makes it tedious, and setup-dependant. Now if someone brought me their car, that might be a different story.
  19. Hope yours holds up better than mine has. I used a similar technique, and mine is cracking. I'll be laying down some glass over everything next time its out. Looks good. Duplicolor bedliner is good stuff.
  20. Finished the hitch tonight. Just need to take it out, clean, and paint it. I ended up with 6 Grade 8 1/2" bolts holding it in. Definitely overkill. I put 2 of them in (the back ones even, so the "weakest" ones) and jumped on the hitch. the car just squatted a little. I'm 110% confident it will do WAY more than I ever need it to. I'd guess it weighs about 25 to 30 pounds. At least its in a good spot (for traction in a straight line). Thats all. Hope to start on the trailer tomorrow!
  21. Since a mod ninja edited my title. It USED TO READ: If your car doesn't have a hitch, it's a .................................Race car. Thought I'd start my own thread about this "hitch" subject. As some of you know, I'm building a hitch for my car, and a datsun pickup bed trailer to pull behind it. This is yesterday, after I spent the last week finishing the walls, re-wiring the ceiling, and putting up lights I bought a flip-down license plate cover, so none of this will ever be seen unless I'm hooked up to a trailer. These aren't exactly in the correct order, but it makes more sense this way. Here is the hitch, as it sits in the hatch. The cross brace is 2" Square tubing, 3/16" wall. The angle iron on the ends is 2" x 2" x 1/4". The hitch is a cheapo universal receiver from Harbor Freight. I'm going to be adding more material to this, so I have at least 3 bolts per side holding it through the frame. After I had it where I wanted it, I measured (like 6 times haha) and got everything where I wanted it. Then I made a cut from the inside, and drew the box on the outside. Here it is, all tacked up and ready to weld. ] That's all i got done in the 3 hours i worked on it last night. Hope to get it welded today, and install tonight! PS, i'll be running like a 10" drop hitch to make it the right height.
  22. Unfortunately, no. He's a friend of mine, so we agreed to go again, and make sure to have cameras rolling. Problem is, he's going to be upping the boost soon! Haha, will still be a good race regardless.
  23. Got the first kill on the sauce tonight. 700whp turbo camaro. Gave him the hit, and then I jumped out about 2 cars on him, he never reeled me in. All smiles here!
