  1. Porsche 930 cv's on billet 31 spline stubs. (36?) spline 300M bars, yes, chrome moly cages and "stars". Yes, 300zx NA 29 spline outers. I have no idea on power. the NA joint is the weak link, but they sell these for 240 sx's with 600HP ratings. Probably good to 750. Go to a Z32 TT joint, and I'd say 1000+.
  2. I forgot to upload this until now. The clearance with the 3.5" is great. My driveshaft loop fits like it was made to be there! I will say I'd expect a little more engagement on the tailshaft than this. I just sent them a measurement from diff to trans, and let them do the figuring (after all they do build these for a living). I'm wondering if they built a little more play into it thinking it was a live axle car? I guess I'll know soon enough if its a problem.
  3. ^ Thats a hell of a deal. How come nobody has spare parts that I need ? Lol
  4. I was trapping high 99's in the 1/8th mile, and mid 125's in the 1/4. Don't know about 1k'.
  5. Well what i've put in it, and what it would cost to recreate are two different figures. I've done a lot of things that probably weren't necessary for a bare bones swap, but I don't like to re-do things. What I have in it : The NEW SHIT PD 550 T3 Backing Plates PD 240 Strut tubes PD 199 GC Coilovers PD -100 Credit for Strut Tubes PD 200 Shipping PD 435 Axles PD 285 Brakes PD 75 E Brake Cables PD 40 Axle Bearings PD 430 Driveshaft PD 60 Wheel Studs PD 50 Lug Nuts PD 79 Install Kit PD 139 Gears PD 75 Rear Cover PD 25 Cover Bushings PD 30 Misc Hardware PD 219 Carrier PD 50Lube PD 125 Labor (gears) 3206 TOTAL I'd add ~1200-1500 to re-create this. Staggering? Kind of. But the upgrades were necessary in my book. Don't forget that I was up $100 on my pumpkin from parting out the rear, and also don't forget that I had some credit with the DSS, and sent them some parts. I made my own mounts as well, so that would have to be factored in and I have a chrome moly trans yoke as well ($200). No lock wires here. I need to torque them before running them though ( they put a nice sticker on them to tell me - that was a huge pain in the ass to get off i might add.) And surprisingly, no. I haven't been. I move too much at work to think about getting sleepy. I am under 15hrs sleep the last three nights though, I know that. I was trying to get it together by friday, but at this point, that's not looking too promising. Too many little things to do, and things I'm doing the first time that are taking a while. Well i'm going to bed. "early"
  6. Keith, where is your 2 step set at on these runs? Have you played with the rpm much?
  7. Got the diff filled and in for the last time last night, same for the trans. Tonight I'll install the driveshaft, driveshaft loop, axles, rear wheels, and top off all fluids. I checked on the UPS tracking # for the DSS stuff, and it was delivered YESTERDAY to the apartment main office. Glad they decided not to call me! So i'll have them tonight after work, and I'll share ASAP!
  8. Sounds like your synchros are tapping out. Here's to hoping your trans is in better shape than mine was when I bought it. (though you still have all your gears, so it is lol) When i picked this one up, the 3/4 synchro hub was in 6 pieces, just rolling around in the case. chewed some stuff up pretty good.
  9. I'm excited to see them myself! The brown truck is scheduled to drop them off wednesday, so stay tuned! Finished up the E brake cables tonight. really pretty simple once you know what to do. I'm really excited to have an E brake again. Basically all thats left is to install the diff and trans (tomorrow evening's plan) and tie up any loose ends that remain from the laundry list of fixes / upgrades that happened over the winter. Well i'm spent. 5 AM is coming too soon.
  10. WOW. Learned a LOT about t56's this weekend. As most things go, I didn't get it right until i got it wrong about 4 times. Patience, attention to detail, and a good manual will be your friends!!! Trans is back together, ready to install. Diff is the same. Probably get the diff in tonight yet. I've been tying up a lot of loose ends, and hopefully eliminating a lot of leaks, squeaks and rattles. Brakes are bled, and fresh fluid all around. Really all thats left is to put the finishing touches on my catch can system, install the trans, DS, axles, diff, and put fluids in it. Haha, sounds so easy!
  11. If the DS fits fine now, just subtract the difference in lengths of the transmissions. I KNOW you can find that online.
  12. I should have mentioned, but its getting all new gears, bearings, seals, and posi. It will basically be a brand new unit.
  13. I decided to let one of my local friends set up the rear end for me. I figured $100 is worth me not being frustrated, or screwing it up. The axles are finished, just waiting on the driveshaft (next mon target date) to get done, and i'll have everything!
  14. -6 is plenty of fuel for a whole lot more than 375whp fwiw. I ran braided -6 all the way to the the rail. Would I do it again? Yes. But now i have a bender, tubing cuter, flaring tool, AN holding fixture, AN hose cutter, etc. As long as you mount it well, aluminum fuel line will do fine. Do your research, and you'll be happy
  15. Mine weighed 2740 with iron block, t56, full interior, bumpers removed, on 17x9.5 rotas. I'll bet you're at least 100# lighter.
  16. going back with 3.55's. I paid $139 to my door for the gears. $79 for install kit, and $219 for the posi.
  17. going back with a 3.55. Probably could have gone a little lower, but I liked how it drove before. 1st gear is short enough!
  18. Not really sure. No video, and i only got that one pass on that track.
  19. Thanks for the encouragement guys. Its been crazy here lately. 55+hr weeks, travelling to see the gf on the weekends, and buying a house. The shims for the trans should be here tomorrow or the next day, same with the gears for the rear, and install kit. I'd expect the driveshaft and axles by the end of the week, then its just how much i need to sleep to not be a zombie! The car went a best of 1.55 60'. No 2 step, just 2 feet. I'm not sure exactly how well it will do, as I changed the spring rates in the rear. Worst case, they're $100/pr and i have to change back to something stiffer. We'll soon know.
  20. Haha yep. I think he's been sand bagging me. I'll try to get some light front runners this year, and then we can have a better apples to apples comparison.
  21. Should be good to go. I can't comment on the finned cover though. I never had one, and i've heard they're kind of a PITA.
  22. Wait till you start upgrading things and get to the "while you're in there" jobs.................
  23. This guy has a pimp datsun pickup bed trailer. Drag week participant. Sorry for the massive picture!
