  1. Oh yeah, Rolled over 3200 miles on the car today. Woot.
  2. Are you serious? No helmet? They even SNELL check ours here. Edit: nvm, thought about it. Its just natural selection.
  3. Respectfully, You're wrong. This one lasted 22 passes This one lasted 1 The manuals are hard on S H I T!
  4. "REAR END Aftermarket axles and axle-retention device mandatory on any car running 10.99 (*6.99) or quicker or any car with locked differential. Cars running 10.99 (*6.99) or quicker that weigh more than 2,000 pounds with independent rear suspension without upper and lower (both) control arms must replace swing axle differential with conventional differential housing assembly. (Example: 1963-1982 Corvette). Cars with independent rear suspension using upper and lower (both) control arms may retain swing axle assembly regardless of weight or e.t. Must have 360-degree, minimum 1-inch-wide by 1/4-inch-thick"
  5. This was just how I drove it to the track. 250# springs, tokico 5 ways set on 3, 14# cold in the tires. Trap was 125.7. Funny thing is, this was taken with a galaxy S3 phone on a 3 shot mode. Pretty impressive.
  6. Props to a new-found local friend of mine who took this:
  7. Not much from my experience. I'd say less than 1/2". Jon at M2 differentials could probably answer that for sure.
  8. So if you read all that, why did you need this thread? And NA axles? You sure thats what you have? As far as I know, no one makes a companion flange for NA axles. Turbo, yes. .... Just saying, the info is out there, if you're willing to look.
  9. Not sure where you're doing your shopping, or your reading. I've covered in this thread what diffs were offered in what. Some cobras had a 31 spline clsd that goes for ~$500 all day long. Also, the ring gear is in the same location... drivers side. No offense, but please read a little more before you post. These threads get confusing when there's contradicting information.
  10. Obviously cv's However, there is no CV in the world that will gain you an inch and a half by flipping cages.
  11. hahahahahhaa something like that Buff them down to metal so you can see what you're working with. Smack the center of the spot welds with a center punch. Drill out the spot welds SLOWLY and CAREFULLY. I've found ~3/8" bit works good. The sharper the better. Then take a chisel and hammer it between bracket and fender, or pry with a screw driver. You'll get the hang of it, but go slow because that sheet metal is paper thin. Then you'll grind / sand down everything, fill holes, grind, fill, grind, fill, grind, bondo, sand, bondo, sand, bondo, sand, prime, sand, bondo, sand, prime, sand, paint, sand, paint sand, paint sand, paint. Have fun!
  12. Well as long as I'm keeping this up to date.... I made ONE pass saturday at the strip, and snapped the same stub on the second launch. Car did go the best its ever been though, fwiw.
  13. 3.54, welded. I'm collecting parts as we speak. Hopefully within the next month I'll be working on getting it swapped in.
  14. Well I will be the first to tell you the Z31 axles aren't a fix all. I've broken two input stubs so far, and am changing to a different setup this winter. PS Good god your pictures are huge
  15. Took the car to the track today after replacing the stub that I destroyed. First pass was an 11.009 with a 1.57 60' BLAST! I was so close to that 10 I wanted!! Second pass I snapped a stub... WTF?!
  16. I know this is the internet, but really? 280 mph? The current record is 257, but it is in a GT, just not that GT.
  17. I'm covering something similar to this (using a t3 STYLE backing plate, modified to my dimensions... hopefully)in my 8.8 Convresion thread. You should all check it out and lend me your advice.
  18. Nope. I got fed up with it and drew up my own spacers in CAD, and sent them to my friend with waterjet connections. I should have the spacers by the end of the weekend.
  19. Very Cool. Your stub axles will definitely be the first to go in this combo, however.
  20. I'm just rockin the stocker for now, with a gap at the bottom. I'd like to go full billet. Put that on the list! I've read (seen) on here where the 05? mustangs have the same size grill opening. Maybe a billet grill from one of those cars would work, or could be made to work.
  21. Haha, no way would this be enough for my fronts to clear. Cool if you just had a slight issue though.
  22. Yes. Pretty sure they're rated at like 1" @100mph
