  1. That's a 300zx rear end, too small to see anything else. Also it will not fit in a 280zx.
  2. I got about $40 in scrap when I scraped my old block which had similar damage. So at least you get some money out of it.
  3. That's worth it for mandrel bent and pretty much a full exhaust fabrication and a muffler and resonator. Mine cost me $280 with pretty much a full header back 2.5in with a flowmaster super40. The muffler itself was over $100 of that, and it had 2 vband clamps in it that were $30 each.
  4. From what I understand for the brake pedal, the actual mechanism is the same, but the pedal is just wider. A lot of 240sx guys ust use a cut off wheel and measure and chop it. Then use the rubber to cover it up. Ghetto, but I guess it works. I'm not planning on doing that when I swap in my manual tranny, I have a manual brake pedal.
  5. I have the the oil cooler and oil cooler lines, but I'm using the adapter. If you need the oil cooler and lines PM me.
  6. Easiest way to post pics is to get an online photo album account, like at photobucket or something similar ( I use photobucket). You can then have it automatically resize your pics when you upload them, and it gives you quicklinks to simply post them in an format on this board. Plus if you are like me and have a bunch of other photos to dig though on your comp, my photobucket albums are strictly for my cars. You can also directly upload photos to your post using the little icon of 3 pictures right under the font and size drop bars, but only members can see them then. Post 1000 for me btw. yay me.
  7. Question: does water leak into the rear hatch when you open it and it has water on it? like after it has rained (not while its raining duh)? I heard a rumor that was a really bad flaw in the hatch.
  8. They come off. The air dam has a cut out for them and they attach to the airdam. At least mine did.
  9. The KA tranny is 2 inches longer so you may need a custom driveshaft made depending on what diff you have. Most people use the Series 1 240z driveshaft as it is 2 inches longer IIRC.
  10. Ask jared since he did the swap on a s130. Maybe he either has the specs or knows where to buy one. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/103602-my-560zx-titan-vk56de-powered-280zx-s130-build-thread/ edit: I think you've already been in contact with him.
  11. He is getting the upper hand mostly since his suspension is crap. That's just my opinion. Hold out for cash on top.
  12. You need to use the manual bellhousing that was attached to the L series and have it machined to work with the KA gearbox. The KA bell housing is just slightly off. When my fiend was heling me do my clutch and flywheel, he had a spare KA tranny laying around and it was just off enough to not be able to work (although we were tired and didn't try super hard to line anything up while the engine was in the car, I'm sure we would have tried a little more if it was out of the car.) As for the 5 speed swap, you need everything from the clutch pedal assembly, to the tranny/driveshaft, and everything in between( clutch mc, hardlines, slave cylinder, flywheel/clutch, tranny mount etc.) I'm currently gathering parts for my 240sx 5 speed swap. I mean I have an auto 240sx, and I'm converting it to 5 speed, not a KA 5 speed swap in my datsun.
  13. My 260z was running some cheap pepboys one. Worked for my SU's and my triples when I got those. It ran fine for the 4 years I had the car. I did have a regulator that varied it from 3-5 psi. It was similar to this one http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Mr-Gasket-4-to-7-PSI-35-GPH-electric-fuel-pump-for-domestic-carburetors/_/N-25jp?itemIdentifier=732035_0_0_ You could also check out PPK's setup since he's doing the same thing in his car.
  14. So after messing with your combo switch you lost you're dash and sidemarkers? but did you fix your headlights? Could be that when you had the combo switch out, some wires in the back of it unsoldered or came loose. Take it back out and check all the wires for continuity when you switch the lights on.
  15. The only reason I don't love the LED conversion is because it detracts from the 80's a bit. I like the glow and pos bulb. I bet its like 9000 times brighter than my lights though.
  16. My friend had a cressida with a lexus v8, 1UZ I believe. That thing flew.
  17. Not sure if the headlight wires are exactly the same as a 240z, but here is a diagram for a 240z, just to show you how the relay should be run. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/wiringdiagrams/240z/71_Aus_240z_lights.pdf
  18. Possibly a vacuum leak. Maybe your mechanic had to move a line and it either cracked or he forgot to put it back on? Also what exactly do you mean runs like crap? bad idle, won't rev, will die under load etc?
  19. What else is done to the Z? Like suspension wise or interior? Also an S30 has a way bigger cool facter than a s14. 240sx's are dime a dozen, granted yours has an LSx motor. That Z can easily be worth 10-12k( if he has fancy suspension parts) and that's about what your s14 is probably really worth also. Again it really depends on what else is done to the Z. You say you're car isn't complete, so I'm taking that at face value.
  20. This is so awesome. I need to learn to weld
  21. Not a fan of pastel-ish purple. Should be purple flake.
