  1. Okay I'm trying to figure out the displacement of a destroked engine. Stock these are the specs: Bore x Stroke = 93x82.7 mm Rod Length =147 mm Now I know that this is a 4.5L 274CI V8 motor. I know the formula for displacement is Bore^2 x Stroke x 0.7854 x number of cylinders. And for swept volume it is (bore/2) x (bore/2) x Stroke x pi. What I'm wondering is if i change the rod length to say 140 mm how do I calculate the new displacement? And what formula would I use?? On a side note though I doubt its possible but would you be able to mate a Crank diameter of 55mm to a Rod big end of 53 mm. I know you can bore/hone out the rod but it seems like it would weaken the strength of the rod significantly and I don't think its wise to remove 2mm. Also would it be an option to grind down the crank that 2mm's or would you run into the same problem of really weak and not really practical? Thanks for the help. Tyson

    New CCW wheels

What are the specs on those like backspacing, what size lip is that? Also what type of suspension are your running? Coilovers? Hurry up and get-em mounted .Tyson
  3. Thats really F*ing scary, that thing is just shredded. Any story behind hit?? Some guy taking it over 200mph on a public road or what?
  4. After looking at your webpage I'd say you could get at LEAST 4.5k for it if not more, cause like you said you've got a lot custom work involved with that. Tyson
  5. Ditto on that. These are one of those sad moments of HybridZ. Wish I could offer an legitamate opinion on the body. Tyson
  6. umm yeah how 'bout no scott??? i'd rather get my thrills elsewhere. Tyson
  7. DITTO on that. It reminds me of the late 80's BMW Headlight setup crossed with the early skyline for some reason. But it is damn SEXY!! Tyson
  8. OUCH!!! I'd be really pissed, if that were my car. That sucks Tyson

    New CCW wheels

Can't go wrong with some blacked out CCW's. Those are going to look sick.Tyson
  10. Thats a big WOW. i mean he was there then straightaway and he's a little speck on the screen!!! I mean jeebus thats gotta be fast especially if the other guy going close to 150-170 in 5th gear and the other car is still pulling.
  11. I know your pain on that, on my truck I have a urethane air-dam sort of thing. For the most part its not a problem, however there are always those incidences in which you just might hit or go over the concrete stop because you can't hear over you stereo . I've replaced it once not because of stupidity or carelessness its just a given problem, so I think its a great idea, save you future cost of that one time of oops cause no one is perfect. I say go for and have a toggle sensor on it so when you turn in for parks it goes off but not when your exiting a V driveway. Tyson
  12. yeah thats a little scary and yes thats what I was looking for, sorry for not being more specific. *sigh* engine choices and money make my head hurt. BTW i wasn't complaining about the pics, i liked seeing all of them I just thought it was funny everytime I'd hit the refresh button there'd be more pics.
  13. I don't like asking this but I'm deciding on High performace L28 or an SR, the L28ET would be a lot of similar parts that is on yours, so far with most of my calculations i'm close to 6.5k on the L28ET, and close to that on the SR20DET. Tyson
  14. Okay I think you're done posting pics, i kept hitting the refresh button and would get more pics. But thats looking awesome, what HP range do you think you'll be putting down? Good work, though I must say interesting color choice on the engine block. Tyson
  15. WHAT!?!??!! YOU MEAN I'M MISSING THE CLOUDS!?!?!?!?! I'll go watch in on my other comp. Tyson
  16. Yeah don't have DivX I'm a mac guy, oh well i ge the idea from the sound. Tyson
  17. That thing sounds good, for some reason I only had sound no actual vid. But thanks for the post. Tyson
  18. That is real cool, I always wondered why the used the small engine with the Solstice. but like you said PRICEY, just for the initial cost of a hybrid. Tyson
  19. Yeah, i'm definately going to do the YZ fender flares, with the Subtles up front. I'm really leaning towards the SR20 right now well cause gas prices suck. I'm going to go for around 400hp possibly more down the road. This means copying a lot of what SR240Z has done and using a lot of his parts, and going into the head work and cams. I kinda have a question for those of you running YZ fender flares, i like side exiting exhaust like right before rear driver side wheel. Curious if i could move the pipe on up into the dog-leg area there? Tyson
  20. Definitely agree with you Pete. Gotta have the nasty wide tire look out back. I like CCW's but i might go with a shop here in town that a friend of mine owns, and is trying to make a name for himself. Hopefully that means cheaper stuff (cost wise). Tyson
  21. Well thanks to those who provided constructive criticism, didn't mean to start anything I was just listing the engine options for me, I know what the pole says and wasn't wanting opinions on it. So sorry for creating turmoil. Mark I would like to hear a little more about your setup its intriguing to me. I will be building what I want to and can financially afford, I just respect a lot of people's opinions on here and wanted their input. Crazy280 I definately know what you mean about the power. I'll be running at least 10" wheels out back with as much lip as humanly possible. I'm looking at cars that came with some big wheels out back and have my wheels tailored to work with their OEM tires instead of custom sets all the time. Tyson
  22. yeah i've seen and talked to alex SR240Z quite a bit, but its not the engine choice i'm looking for an opinion on its more about the SR with YZ fender flares. But thanks for your opinions anyways. Tyson
  23. Okay, so i'm back to a Z after going full circle from Porsche and Jag V8 Conversions. I've narrowed myselft back to 3 choices for my Z: LS1 cam swap only, HIGH-performance L28ET, or HIGH performance SR20DET. Okay to the question, I love YZ fender flares out back, but I don't need the crazy 12" out back, so it would be more for the looks sort of thing. Do you guys think it would be weird to have an SR20DET powered widebody Z? I mean for an LS1 or L28ET I think it would be fine, but for some reason its just seems odd to have the YZ with a 4cyl. Thanks for the help, Tyson
  24. Uh-oh that sounds like trouble. but trouble of the good kind. I think all of us here would want frequent updates on progress . Tyson
  25. I think its called rear decklid. Now thats great pic can't argue with wide-body porsches, but i like the bit more radical. http://hypertec.ws/todd_porsche/photos/ Purist shouldn't look, its flat out rape if you like the purity thing. Tyson
