  1. Marginally more what? softer, harder? Sounds interesting please give more info.
  2. They are in my home town, Wellington New Zealand, i have got a few of my parts from them.
  3. Nasty......... but very true! The cost of the motor/front clip is just the start when it comes to spending money on a properly engineered RB/Z swap. Go and save some more mula, so that you can do this properly
  4. Nice one! you are further on than me, i have lots of parts but the engine isnt in the car yet! Really keen to hear what you do & see pic's of your trans mounts etc. I guess you are using the R33 2.5T 5 speed?
  5. Hi Guys I picked up a great new book last week called "Forced Induction Performance Tuning" by Graeme Bell. It's an Australian book. It will make a great resource to anyone playing with a turbo charged engine. I also have "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, (USA) which is also a great book, but FIPT goes into a lot more detail of engine preperation and fuel systems etc with many calculations for working out fuel flows for injectors and pumps etc. One thing they mentioned was that for making maximum HP, you should not run your injectors at more than 60% duty cycle, interesting. Heaps of other charts on HP ratings of different sized components, exhausts, intercooler piping and T/B's etc. Even has a large detailed section on Nitros assisted turbos. A great book!! Highly recomended for all knowledge levels. Jes' anyone would think i'm on commission!
  6. They're out there, and they're multplying! I cant believe this guy even passed his driving test? Thats the sort of idiot that is coming the other way!
  7. I am thinking the same thing Hugh, I will make up a rear frame but will solid mount the diff, my car is a race car, so not to concerned about the noise.
  8. Jamie, Have just had a look, the standard runners actually go from oval to round anyway (on mine anyway R33 RB25 item). The standard runners have been cut where they are round and the new part of the runner which is also round welds to that.
  9. It was pretty pricey, you could probably buy the Greedy part for less. That is not a fuel rail, its part of the water gallery. It was a R33 Rb25DE item prior to getting cut up.
  10. That looks pretty nice buddy! I decided to get one fab'd in the end, and i have now also decided to get this fully polished, should look smart.
  11. OMG!!! LOL!!! I've seen some dodgy stuff, but that has to be one of the funiest things i've ever seen!
  12. They will be there to help even out/ spread the clamping force of the little bolts, why dont you just use them?
  13. Nice one Yasin! Yes there is something in this, as i too have loved the 930 turbos since as long as i can remember.....ahhh and guards Red.........mmmmmmm...........I also like the next (964/5) model turbo as well.......It seems that all people that like the early Z cars also like the 911 series Porsches. It must have something to do with the body lines. I will have one in my garage in the next couple of years too beside my 240z. Congrats on the rare (stock) find Clint T.
  14. I too have experimented with injecting a 50/50 water/methonal mix into a turbocharged 1600cc Mazda DOHC race engine, with the water/meth inj we were able to increase boost and ignition advance and then we started to make some pretty good power, well over 300hp at the front wheels. Not bad for a little 1.6L. We also had a iced water spray onto the intercooler and a coil of copper fuel line submerged in the iced water tank to cool the fuel prior to the rail. It all adds up
  15. I am really liking the look of this latest design, as i too would be able to build this myself! Great work with that CAD programe Rob, very inspiring indeed, Please keep us informed with your progress on the design and build of this cradle, This thread should be set in concrete!!! I will sure be having a crack at making up something along this design! Cheers.
  16. Hey ZROSSA, my current wheels are the NZ made Euro 5 spokes 16x7's all round, i'm gunna need bigger than that mate
  17. This is funny! Just found this old link (above) which was ME way back on 07-13-01 when i first hatched my plan to build a RB30DET powered 240z, i didnt even own one then, and never had. But knew i wanted one, and have wanted to do this swap for a long time now, try four years! I have been doing my homework on & off ever since. Well goes to show if you are passinate enough about something, you will make it happen, as i only got my 240z about 2-3 months ago, and have already collected many of the parts i need, and the project is well under way. So when i stumbled accross my old/pretty much first ever thread i had a bit of a giggle. This site has certainly been an inspiration. Cheers guys. Clint T, (BTW, the email address in my old thread above is no longer correct)
  18. Yeah mate a true Hybrid engine, an RB30e (single OHC engine) from the australian made Holden Commodore VL, Now fitted with a R33 RB25DE VVT head. I guess you US boys dont see many of these huh
