  1. Stony, i found a link to his photo site, but need his email address to make it work or something, help!
  2. This is powered by a SR20DET, I like the stance and look of this car, the wheels look pretty wide, and i like the near stock look of those flares. I would like to know what the flares are, where i can get them and the sizes etc of those wheels/tires. I would love to see more pics of the outside of this car too, if anyone can help. Clint.
  3. I would love to see pics of this car (or any other Z with 930 turbo type guards on it) if any one has any than can post up? I would love to graft on the flares from a Porsche 964 turbo, that would look awesome!
  4. What are all you RB__DET/TT guys running in the way of cam's. I was just thinking that the cams (standard) in my R33 Rb25de head are designed for the flow from a 2.5L, well i have this head on a 3.0L bottom end, so surely i could get away with (would need) some bigger cams, as an engine with 20% more swept volume will have a lot more flow and could handle the bigger cams moreso than the 2.5 or 2.6 to a certain degree, even tho i will only be reving this RB30 to 7500 (longer stroke) Surely if i was serious about making good power the standard 2.5 cams will be holding it back. Any recomendations? Lift? Duration? etc. Stony, Matt.
  5. Hey Hellr Progress is slow at the moment mate, just collecting more parts etc, i plan on running the latest ver of the NZ made "Link" ECU, they have just brought out a new system called G3 or something, i was talking to a techy dude the other day about this ECU, sounds like they have really caught up with the competition now (maybe even surpassed), this thing can do everything including full traction control. I am having a major delemor at the moment with wheel width choice, didnt want to have to flare the guards, bit i'm thinking i am going to have too! But thats another story.
  6. Thanks for correcting me, i accept defeat All i know is that the fuel does get bloody hot, and that there are power gains to be had by cooling it, as we have done this on a race car to good effect.
  7. Yeah, they were pretty slow at returning my emails as well, i had to send same mail a couple of times to get a reply, hopeless! R33 Rb25DET trans was pretty expensive at $2000NZ, but hey they are quite rare out here, as most the jap imports are autos.
  8. well get this i drive a 2000 S15 200sx (6 speed) and i had to get the gearbox rebuilt at 65k, F__K ME, thats just wrong! It is pretty much stock, just a twin pipe off the turbo and 3" mandrel bent right through, yeah i drive it reasonably hard, but thats just rediculous!!!
  9. Its the high pressure that is one of the main factors of it heating up. When you presurise some thing it is compressed which causes heat, just like the compressed air from a turbo, it is hot, hence why we use intercoolers. EFI is even worse that a low pressure carb system!
  10. Already mentioned about excess fuel being returned to tank, better this than to the surge tank (if you are running one) Quote: S15 200SX OWNER "Another important note here if you are running a surge tank on your efi setup, is not to run the fuel return back into the small surge tank as this is not giving the fuel a chance to cool down (better off returning to the larger fuel tank)"
  11. What front end mods are you talking about dude?
  12. I havnt got it in the car yet, the r33 25T box is bloody big! A few guys here have them in their cars, i believe that you need to cut of the standard mounting ears from the tunnel and make a new rear mounting crossmember. This has bee covered in other threads, with pics, do a search, seek and you shall find.
  13. Nice one man! What series RB25 is that (R32,33,34)? What turbo are you running there? Looks nice!
  14. Hey thanks Doug, yeah we are lucky to have these RB30 engines down here, they are so bloddy cheap too, ya can pick up a complete car for $300-$400. These engines make soooo much torque when twincam'd and turbo'd, its crazy! All stock internals too! Very cool! I will go for the 44mm V band, cheers.
  15. Hey Sean, do you know if you have any trouble with the fuel heating up when you run the fuel return back into the small surge tank? as this is not giving the fuel a chance to cool down (better off returning fuel straight to the larger fuel tank)
  16. Cool man, just trying to save you some hassles. I am just in the process of ordering a GT35R and a Tial 44mm Gate, for my RB30DE
  17. Cheers Mike, thanks for the info, are you back from Aussie yet?
  18. What about with coil overs and stock fenders? any ideas, you sound like you know what you are on about.
  19. As far as i am aware the temp increase of the fuel is created by the fuel being pressurised by the pump. Therefore this problem is much worse with the high fuel pressure efi systems (just like air heating up when compressed by a turbocharger). In the past on a race car, i have had a water/ice tank (for intercooler sprayer) that i ran fuel through a large coil of copper piping that was submerged in the water/ice tank to cool the fuel prior to entering the rail. I think now a days you can buy Co2 fuel rail cooling systems (is this what you are refering too?) Another important note here if you are running a surge tank on your efi setup, is not to run the fuel return back into the small surge tank as this is not giving the fuel a chance to cool down (better off returning to the larger fuel tank) Hope this is of some help.
  20. Sh_t!! Clint, your car is going to be one NASTY piece of gear!!!
