  3. 200000LBS? man, what kinda cool stuff have you smashed? you could make some cool coasters. What would it do to a cast pistons? how flat would it get? Man you gotta tell some stories about that
  4. They already dynoed one.. 443hp from the showroom. Wow GJ GM! http://www.streetneeds.com/uploads/auser/C6ZO6DYNO.jpg
  5. Crap, i committed the biggest sin on this forum i searched a little more, and found it http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=85872&highlight=ac+chevy Why would anyone keep the datsun compressor?
  6. So, the JTR book only has half a page on a/c, dosnt say much. Do i just get a chevy compressor, and have fittings put on the datsun lines, and hook up (then recharge and all that good stuff) is it that easy? the fan motor now barly blows, do they make new ones?
  7. Those are sexy, i would be happy to buy them for a low price if you sell them Im going to iraq, so you dont have to ha jk
  8. 4.56's, so thats a solid axel car then right? So with a 327, with a cam and some nice heads, and lots of aluminium, and a t56, i should get real close to 12's im thinkin
  9. I see lots of guys with what i consider mild small blocks runnin in the 11's and 12's Im really tuning down the sbc i was going to build, and i dont wanna ask the question "whats it gonna run" cause there no way to really tell (altho i bet i will still ask it once i have the motor assembled) So, who has a slow z, i mean like a stock small block, or a 305 or something, that has taken it to the track, and can post some numbers... I wanna see what it takes to get into the 12's cause, its lookin like not much.. What mods, if any, and what tranny?
  10. Well, thats some good motivation right there man, thanks I did not think of gettin hose clamps, and extra hoses and stuff, i will add that to the list... Thats some of the little stuff that i should be sure an get extra of Im impressed that you built your own exhaust, and learnin to weld on exhaust tubin for the first time, thats great.
  11. Lookin good man, those headers are mighty close to those fuel and brake lines.
  12. yea, I totally understand, i tried to build my malibu before power tour, i didnt make it by about 2 days.. i was crushed. I made 3-4 trips to orielly's everyday for about 2 weeks awd92gsx mentioned bolts, Well, we have an account with fastenal, so we have all these little metal boxes, labeled with bolts, comes in VERY!!! handy. And, im an electrician, and this will be done at an electrical shop, so i have all the wire, in every color, and every gage i will need, all the butt splices, and all that. wiring is too easy.... Orielly's is about 1/2 a mile from me, napa and auto zone are about 3-4. little things like that really help, and will speed up the process This post has helped me, i know of 3 z's will small blocks, i hope Phantom will let me look over his z, the other 2 should too, i will take notes, and pictures. Phantom dosnt know me, but he is the reason im doing this. I saw his z with an ls1 at sonic, and fell in love.
  13. Alright guys, i have seen alot of you talk about how long it took you to do this swap. i see ALOT! of "while im at it" coments. Thats not a problem with me, because i know theres no way i can do that with being an underpaid private ( i mean paint, and interior and all that otehr stuff) So, how long did it take from the running datsun motor, to a runnin chevy motor? not including all that other stuff... I dont wanna know because im gonna rush it and take short cuts, i just get onto stuff when im doing it. Does anyone know the man hours? I will have block leave after iraq (2-3weeks off) and im trying to see if i could have it done in that time. I mean, i really think i can, if i have the assembled motor and tranny. It shouldnt take more than an hour to have the z motor out.. its the in between time i think will take a while, they stuff i have never done before, droppin it in, should be no problem, once ive test fitted, and got the cross member figured out.
  14. Hey guys, i plan on replacin my r180 for an r200. I have searched, and failed where can i find some gear for an r200? i want something lower than 4.11 (t56, motor that dosnt like to run at anything below 2k) any linkS?
  15. Hmm, so maybe a regular team g would fit, with no spacer. That would totally suck if i got this all built, and i couldnt shut the hood. If worse comes to worse, i could always temporarly run to aircleaner Off topic, There is soo many people in texas on here im noticing.. do yall ever meet?
  16. Jsut barely, thats what i was lookin for.... Im lookin to run a single plane intake, with a holley 780.. that should clear. thanks guys
  17. That really dosnt help at all, because i dont know how much of a rise that is. are you just braggin?
  18. what all have you guys fit under a stock hood, and a carbed sbc? Anyone running carb spacers? airgap intakes? Single plane intakes like a team-g obviously a drop base aircleaner i need to know becuase im trying to figure out where i want to take this project. part of me wants a sleeper, but with a cowl hood, thats out the window. If i dont run a cowl hood, then i still have to deal with the hardest problem when having a sleeper, is hidin the sound, which takes a big muffler or 2, which i dont think will fit under a bu.
