  1. Good thread. Would read again.
  2. That engine bay is SWEET. Thats exactly the look im going for. All aluminum, with a black block. I like that remote oil filter, thats a nice spot for the filter. I assume the cooler in front of the radiator is an oil cooler, correct? That sure does block a big spot of the radiator
  3. A simple mount in front of the radiator? Ive seen oil coolers with fans, but i think that is a little over kill.
  4. DAN Since yours has 2 ins, and 2 outs, is it ment to be used with an oil cooler or something? I plan on runnin an oil cooler also. Yours appears pretty different than BRAAPS. BRAAP! what was your reason for the angle? Thanks for the pics guys
  5. I have been considering a remote oil filter adapter. That would allow more clearance for headers, as well as let me plumb in an oil cooler. I would like to mount the oil filter somewhere that wont require clean up once the oil filer is removed... IE with nothing under it. Anyone have a good spot, with pics?
  6. Thats what im talking about. I would just mount mine alot closer, maybe an inch seperating them. Thanks buddy
  7. Man.. I probably have too many money pits for only being 24 K5 blazer: edelbrock crate motor @ 320hp The DD 210K miles. Runs great '79 malibu. Aluminum headed 355SBC with a 4 speed, and a ford 9'' 7 seconds in the 1/8 My first car. '69 3/4 ton chevy. 350SBC/T400 with factory A/C My dads money pic. Factory black on black 327/4 speed with a/c its a real SS Getting a large cube LS1, and TKO
  8. True. Ive met "whiteboy" and seen his cars. He has had 2 Z's, and i believe sold them both. Im sure you are referring to his black one, with a whole lot of tire out back. Most of the videos are from about 2 years back, and im having some trouble pulling them up. Yes, it is street driven. Those are two HUGE nitrous bottles in the back window
  9. failed didnt read the whole post. his shop is about 1/2 mile from mine. If you go to his body shop, my orange 260z is sitting under a tree right by the road, next to my blue k5.
  10. There is an all Zcar salvage yard in fort worth, real close to kennedale. The guy also has a body shop right down the road, and does alot of Z body work. I have seen the yard, and his work in person. Go off that info, and im sure he will get you an estimate Edit: i just found it ALL Z CAR SPECIALIST 5101 Mosson Rd Fort_Worth,TX 76119 You may have to call a few times, since he is maybe out of the office at the body shop
  11. Cool, but i was actually looking for 6'' rounds. Close together. Imagine "Elinor" from gone in 60 seconds.. No, im not trying to imitate that look or style, thats just a good example
  12. Does anyone on here run two driving lights in the lower grill area? I think a pair of 5-6'' lights would look good, close together, maybe.. and inch apart. I know "big phil" had some, but his were on the outer edges of the grill area, and i think have been removed since the new paint. Just looking for pics.
  13. Man.. i kinda sorta know a guy, who knows the guy. I post very often on DFWstangs.net (no i dont owna mustang, but its local, and tons of gearheads) The guys best friend posts on there, and was all bragging about it 2 months go. "Ohh ahh, look what my friend got, and i drove it, and its sooo coool" Man, this has been on every single forum i post on, what an ass
  14. Thats hilarious. Sounds like a cool company. Ive been looking for someone to do a custom grind for my 302 chevrolet, im e-mailing them now!
  15. Just more difficult to work with. Heaving those heads over the fenders is always kinda scary to me too, you'll see what i mean. Its just harder to reach everything when the motors in the engine bay, but ive done enough head gasket swaps with the motor in the car, its for sure doable
  16. I wouldnt worry about it. Try going up into first or third, then to Reverse. I'm fairly certain that there are no synros for reverse, so it happens often.
  17. I dont want a hydraulic throwout bearing. I hear they are hard to adjust, and some arnt even adjustabale. THe ones that are require removing the transmission from what ive heard. I want to keep it simple with a slave. Thanks
  18. Right, maybe your hooked onto a vent line? How many lines are coming from the tank?
  19. Any news on this? I cant wait for updates. Of corse, my third deployment has stopped any progress on my build. Still need a solid roller cam grind.
  20. Phil, looks good.. but one thing, Wheres your two big running lights? Before paint, you ran without a bumper, and to round driving lights up front? I really like that look.
  21. Hey guys. Im still gathering the parts for my swap. Im curious how you guys mounted your slave cylinders. Has clearence forced many to run a "pull" type cylinder? It'd be fairly simple to fab up a bracket, im just lookin for some pictures and ideas. Im going to run the JTR setup sbc/tko500 Thanks. PS, anyone run the lakewood bellhousing with the slave mounted on their from lakewood?
  22. I run taylors. They are great wires, and they have often been laying on the header tubes, with no melting. Unbelievable.
  23. Im 23, and have 5 cars total. I usually buy one a year, since i was 18. Paid in cash. I dont like new cars that lock you in when you shift into "d" or that ding at you when your seatbelt is off. I hate standing in front of a car waiting for the interior light to go off. When i was 13, my dad told me about an article in hot rod called "240z/28" I started looking at z's for about 8 months before i found a clean one for $2300 I have what i call "craigslist syndrom" I get bored, and find good deals on some website, and convince myself i need it My dad loaned me a '97 s-10 to drive for 6-8 months while i saved for me.. '69 chevy pickup - found in "auto trader" $5300 in cash @ age 17 '79 Malibu - ebay motors, local $1750 in cash @ 18 '74 260z - "classic datsun, or some Z website $2300 @ 19 '97 chevy pickup - craigslist $3800 @ 21 '86 k5 blazer - craigslist $1650 @ 22
  24. I see your runnin a tko600. What info can you give me on that? I recently, after 2 years of looking, found one for under $2000 (tko500) My questions are shifter placement using the rear location, cross member, and tunnel fitment. Thanks man!
