I have a Trek 2300, al frame with carbon forks and rear stay, Ultegra components. I am up to about 2500 miles on this bike and need to go out and put some more miles on it to keep the Holiday lbs off.
-
I believe they are the same mounts with the offset to move caliper outwards. I have a picture of both my front and rear brake upgrades in my gallery.
-
Daz, i think you have the mounts in the correct position. Both of our cars have the Wilwood rear caliper upgrade and the calipers are mounted toward the body of the car not the rear.

Having to deal with crashes on a daily basis my best advise to you is to get an attorney. I know a lot of people just think they are ambulance chasers and make a living off your suffering but a good attorney will get you things that you never thought you were able to receive. Especially future aliments that might come from your current injuries. The value of the car is secondary to your health and well being. And I am not an attorney nor insurance agent. I am the Trooper who comes out and takes care of you at the scene or the hospital. Hope everything works out for you and your girlfriend.

Hosted by Alan Decadenet if I remember correctly.

Jeff, again it is clear you need help. Very nice find. Does it have a/c or do we have to wait until October to drive it during the day!!!!

One of my two favorite colors for a Z, the other being orange.
-
Last chassis dyno'd at 185 rwhp with the carbs probably holding back alot of the power. That was right before The Mitty. Just looking forward to getting on the track even though it looks like both Sebring and Homestead are off the schedule for 2012. Bummer, Sebring is my favorite track I have been on so far.

I am using stock 240 rods with KA pistons and Sam built it to get 12.5:1 compression. Still running triple OER 45 mm carbs with chokes bored out to 39 and 150 main jets. They usually put me in 3X which is better than the Group 5 they wanted to put me in (all V8 vettes, mustangs, etc). They also think I only have a 2.8L which I guess is fibbing a little but I only get to maybe 2 races a year. It's not like I am going to touch the guys with the 50-100K Jaguars and Porsches in my group.
-
The colors are part of Sam's identity so you can just look under the hood and know it is one of his motors. I think I will have to tone down the pulley but will proudly wear the purple valve cover. I started with a 4K budget that went to 7K which I guess is not bad for a race prepped motor.

I drove up to NC to get my motor back from Sam Neave at LNA Enterprises this weekend and was given what I hope to be the motor that moves me up the starting grid this coming year at my HSR races. He took my old 3.1L stroker(F54 block & N42head) and did a major rebuild(E88head & Cal Cam 500lift-256dur) and presented me with a dyno tested motor that produced 297HP @ 6600 and 269TQ @ 5000. You can also see his custom stock oil pan that he back halfed to give me baffles around oil p/u and a little extra capacity. Nice option the the Nissan Comp pan or Arizona pan.

Building a race car.. looking for advice!

Look for someone trying to sell there car. If the car is already sorted you will be better off in the long run. Look into IT Forums on the web. Always cars for sell there. -
I am in a small county and usually do about 35 to 40,000 miles a year.

Well after having to suffer with my old Crown Vic thru 183,000 miles and no ABS and a failing a/c the new beast has arrived. Sorry about the large picture I forgot how to make it a little smaller. But it will give you a better idea of what to watch out for.....
-
I only use the sensor when I do dyno tuning so there was little chance of any thing affecting it. But ultimately that is why I put it on the top, just should have put it a little closer to the front of the header to make it easier to get to.
-
I have the same header and just did that. I put it on the top half thinking it would make it easier to run wires into cockpit. Made it hard to reach. I would say either on the side or bottom.

That's using some good old Army ingenuity. We lived in Hinesville when my dad was station at Ft Stewart back in the late 60's. Heard it hasn't changed much. -

We are giving some back to Pres Obama to re-distribute to those who supposedly need it more than we do even though we worked our butts off to earn it. Sorry not meant to sound like a political ad. -
Well I can attest to the longevity of the CVPI 4.6L as my patrol car is now cruising on 158K with the state saying do not expect a new one any time soon. And that is with at least 8 hrs of engine run time to go along with the miles. Just have to look at the check engine light along with the ABS light all day. Good luck with the project Tom

My 04 SE extra cab was the same. But just moved up to a 2004 Dodge 3500 Diesel Dually. 18.5 empty and 14.5 towing race car down to Sebring last weekend. So long baby truck and welcome to the world of 1 ton madness. Hopefully I see a 40' gooseneck trailer in my future. And that means 2 cars going to the track. Yea Baby.....

http://s734.photobucket.com/albums/ww347/clarkspeed/Maserati%20Carnage/?action=view¤t=TomsGraph.jpg Here is what the LM-1 showed us on a run down the front street. We are thinking not enough air. Maybe going to 40 or 42 chokes then doing some more runs before going to dyno to tune with jets and needles. What does everyone think? Tom
-
Well we port matched the intake to both the head and the carbs, thanks clarkspeed, and installed a O2 bung to get better air/fuel numbers. Now it is time to get some extra jets, chokes and needles and do some real dyno tuning instead of just a base hp run.
-
Well lets say I was not too happy after the dyno runs today. HP stayed the same and torque was increased by 10. The torque and hp came on sooner and ran higher across the curve than before so that was the only good thing. Quit making any power above 6K. Hoping maybe the carbs might need some adjustment to compensate for the increase in displacement. The operator thought the a/f ratio showed a little air deprivation. On top of that the passenger rear tire blew on the last run. I guess it was better there than on the track. Tom Should have went V-8 two engines ago......Throw nostalgia out the window...

Well finally finished the 3.1 stroker bottom end swap on my car and will go to dyno to compare with last engine in car. Old - F54 block 2.8L .040 over bore flat top pistons, N42 head stock valves with Schneider 490 lift 290 duration cam S&K 45 mm triple carbs with 6-2-1 header 2.5" exhuast. 184 rwhp 177 ft-lbs torque. New - F54 block 3.1L, KA 24 pistons shaved to remove lip w/relief cuts, 240 rods. Top end is still the same. Just did a more aggressive adjustment on the cam with lash pads to get a better wipe pattern. ???? rwhp ???? ft-lbs torque. Ok all you bench mechanics (and real ones) what are your estimates. Try to get within 5-10. Winner gets bragging rights..... Tom
