  1. Ditto!!! Ditto again!! All this advice is VERY applicable to your problems--I'd go through each one of these and MAKE SURE each gets a definitive answer before going to the next one. Timing is the first one I'd address if the car is slow. Also, check or replace your fuel filter(s). They can do the exact thing you describe. Davy
  2. Go to his picture site under his signature and view the creation of the entire car. Terry, excellent work and thanks for all the explanations and step-by-step process on your site!! Way to go on an excellent dash Davy
  3. Bartman, There is enough space for a turbocharger in front of the engine... I appreciate the pics because I have been contemplating a future LT1 swap that will include a single large turbo at the front of the motor. The LT1 looks very "clean" in front so I think I can utilize the space there. I do have an actual turbo exhaust manifold, but I'm not sure of the flow characteristics, but mounting a turbo would be no problem. Post more pics as ou make progress, please!! Davy
  4. The wall, the otherside, the wall, the other side---sheesh! Way to keep your foot in it. Natural reaction is to lift, but not you! How'd the tire smoke smell before your launch Thanks for posting another great video. I'd love to see the car in a 1/4 mile run for kicks, only I want to be there!! Davy
  5. Uuuugh, it's been too long sinvce I last looked at the JTR manual, but didn't they do that for safety sake? I think the fuel pump should run only as long as the disty is spinning, if not fuel could (in certain circumstances) keep pumping into the motor---is this correct? I cannae remember anything, although being a post whore, I'll gladly add to the thread! Davy
  6. AWESOME!!!!! I love that video! Your car sounds great on my computer speakers and everything is loud enough---no problems there!! Thanks for the excitement! Davy
  7. Or how about, "Can the Datsun transmission be used with a SBC engine?" LOL! Davy
  8. Joshua, it would help if you provided part #s for both airdams... Davy
  9. More like, "How much money do you have?" Davy
  10. Make sure it is actually an LT1, not a TBI motor. Even with iron heads, the price is right IMO. As was stated previously, ditch the tranny unless this is in a running car that can be checked out. Just because they don't have the keys is no reason NOT to hotwire the car. I would try to get them to let you test drive the car. You can make it seem like you would want to buy the whole car if it drives like you 'expect' it to. If the tranny slips at all, just take the motor. You'll be able to go T5 or T56 with that engine anyway if you want a stick or 2004R or 700R4 for an auto. Davy
  11. Is that for real??? I'll have to do a web search and find a good link for it. "Active antenna" eh? Hmmm. Davy
  12. Welcome back, man! Great to hear your wife didn't divorce you and that your diggie is still your pal!!! Man, all that and a cold beer, what could be better? Davy
  13. Yes, it will be! Glad you found out a seemingly simple fix for the problem. I was going to say do not move the transmission crossmember, just adjust the mount, but it looks like you're ok now. Keep us posted. I think the first time you send the tires into smoldering molten torture, you'll realize the swap was totally worthwhile. Davy
  14. I couldn't make it--had to be in Modesto with the folks. Looks like a cool venue though!!! Davy
  15. Me? I don't know how to weld although I'd love to believe I actually could! Must be someone else you are thinking of. Aux knows for sure I can't weld plastic with epoxy let alone metal... Davy
  16. That price is WAY out of line. We're paying less then what you do for sure!! The 308 is nothing I know about--stick to the 350 if possible. Your link is working for me. Find out what works best for you pricewise and go with that. I would, however, purchase the JTR book first before doing anything and then after reading it, make my decisions. Good luck. Davy
  17. Jaime, if you look a bit, the Volvo 240's have single upper units that are quite sanitary looking. I'm not sure how they'll do on the Griffin--is it flat on top? The Volvo upper mounts work well with the Camaro radiator like they were made for each other. Davy
  18. That is one of the more majorly painful injury pictures I have ever seen on this site. Man, I feel for you. If it feels half as bad as it looks, it must be Vicadin time! Get well soon!! Davy
  19. That is a question that only our friends from across the pond can answer. I would think this would be the case, although it may be as easy as finding a RHD Z at the next MSA show or Eric Neyerlin's up here in NOCA and do some simple measuring. Davy
  20. Mike, was it located in Pleasanton? If so, it might actually be a 350 powered 280Z masquerading about as a 240Z... The one I saw was in Pleasanton and had no hood with a carb and air filter sticking out of the hood: thus shouting, please give me a ticket! I have seen that particular car I mentioned, but only know about it from hearsay. Davy
  21. Unfortunately, YES I DO! Nice motor though....thinking about putting it into the living room as a coffee table... Davy
