  1. Since it apparently passed I wil actively campaign against him. I didn't vote for him or for Red Davis either. This kind of political maneuvering squashes a lot of 'little' people like me who count on the law being there for them. The reason the law changed in the first place is that it was unreasonable to begin with--it got 'old'. So, since he wants to go back to the stone age and be unreasonable about a perfectlt legitimate change in the law, he can go back to making movies and not be my governor anymore. Dump Arnold. I'm not sure if getting Historical Vehicle plates will help me any, but I have to look into that. Also, this just further my resolves to move to Texas where you don't have to put up with half of the crap we do here I want my guns back. I want me car back. I want less politics! Davy
  2. Upgrading to 5 lug will give you the same wheel choices for Ford, Toyota Supra, 300ZX, etc. You can get some great (but expensive) wheels for your Z from the likes of Volk Racing, Work, CCW, HRE, BBS, etc, after you do the conversion. Just measure the offset what you need and then order the wheels. FWIW, Mike was only giving advice. If he needles you, it is because he likes you. He just runs over the people he doesn't Davy
  3. "Mind blowing speed and acceleration" is the answer. You get used to the speed. The cars always feel faster when someone else is the driver (I think it is the 'I'm-not-in-control-here' factor). The car should at least thrill you when you step on the gas, otherwise what is the point? I drove dmanzo's high ten second 383 powered car and it is really a fun car, even though the speed is quite deceptive. The more refined the conversion, the slower it feels!! The car you posted looks good, even with the damage. Check it over extremely well for rust issues and you should be ok. Davy
  4. WHAAAT?? You can't be serious! Did you just call me a minute ago? Is this for real? Hmmm. Davy
  5. Yep He's getting the plumbing in order, but the engine is in! Davy
  6. MIke, he's making great progress and the car is looking good. I cannot say that for my car, but Aux is making good progress. The rotary swap is daunting IMO and I am sticking with a Chevy V8 for simplicity sake. Cool video: remind me never to try drifting a front wheel drive car Davy
  7. Steve, I have a gorgeous picture of my wife in front of the aqua car in Saratoga when I went on my first date with her! That was over 11 years ago! It's so cool to see other photos of that car. When I saw it, it was the most perfect Z I had ever seen--5 star paint all tha way. I also took a picture (still have it too!) of the white Z in the owner's driveway in San Jose (I was driving by and just haaad to snap a few). It has a 383 and was also for sale at the time...*sigh* Thanks to Ernie and Steve for the photos! Davy
  8. I have four pairs of lights hanging in my garage courtesy of my great brother who wired it all. Too bad I can't park in there at all Davy
  9. Yep, that would be my choice--haven't you seen Initial D yet? Seriously, I think even though it is NA, it would make one heck of a motor in an Opel, sheesh, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it Davy
  10. I have a high capacity clip for an AR-15 as well, although mine is much smaller then that bugger I'll ebay mine too. I have not done so thus far because I thought they were illegal. No more guns for me--thanks, California Davy
  11. aaaaAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGgg! Say it isn't so! Davy
  12. Looks awesome. I never would have believed that 18s would have looked good on a 510, but you made me a believer! Davy
  13. Progressive says it will use the data only for potential discounts and not to penalize customers whose devices reveal risky driving habits. That is total BS...why would one bother even tracking people's driving habits if this was the case??? They think we're really stupid. I'll opt out for this kind of thing and hope that everyone else does too, at least for the most part. Davy
  14. I made sure I was polite (it helps) and said my part for the cause. Just think if they flip flopped on alcohol! Still this one is dear to my heart and I wish the opposition to the car crafting hobby would just go away, but radical environmentalists, socialists, and communists will never go away Davy
  15. Sorry to hear about your wife, Scottie. I hope she makes a full recovery quickly. We had a German Shephard/Husky mix and I can tell you it does matter in the breed of the dog and temperament of the dog ; our Lab was completely the opposite---both were raised by us and both were completely different. I have no desire to own anything now other then a docile dog since I have kids. In a pack, dogs can get even uglier. I'm always on the watch for dogs around my kids and I'll be darned if I let one hair of theirs get hurt by some animal.... Give your wife the best wishes from all of us on the forum--she did not deserve what happened to her. Davy
  16. Man, that is just rippingly sweeeet! I respect your ability to make me gawk in disbelief Davy
  17. Ewwwww, that's baaaaad, Tim. Shame on you Davy
  18. I especially like this pic at speed--wikkked Davy
  19. Looking good so far--you have a clean Z and are coming along nicely with it. Sweet intercooler---what brand? Should I even ask? Davy
  20. OUCH! Mike, sorry to hear about that. I think it was Grumpy that warned about that a while ago. I think I'll learn from your mistake and do it differently the first time!! Will you just rebuild the 383 or will you go in another direction? Davy
  21. I was there last weekend (this happened Saturday) and he walked away. Car is trash (moment of silence) Davy
