  1. That would work for guys like Aux and myself that don't drive our Z's but once in a while. I have State Farm, but the price was about $600 per year on the car I never drove! I'm dumping them for what Tim has. $20,000 worth of insurance for only pennies IMO is much better then being soaked for years...*ugh* Davy
  2. Kevin, Exactly what they said. Since HybridZ has the ability to host a personal photo album for you, you can upload it just like they said. Davy
  3. AAaaaaHAHAHAHAHAAAA! ROTFLMAO! That is too funny so early in the morning! Davy
  4. Lookin' great! I echo the sentiments that making the modifications 'work' together is a lot of labor...and it is coming together quite nicely. Can't wait to see that with paint... Davy
  5. Stunning looking pair of cars! Man, I hope look at least half as good as those...Sweet! Davy
  6. I have an MSD Blaster coil and 6AL ignition; no worries. Davy
  7. Funny, but I think your cars are faster then Darius' car was and yours are NA, plus you live in neighboring cities--how's it feel? That is just too cool. Man, I salute you--you are fast at making it all happen too. The LS1 will be faster then the LT1 I predict (now don't let me down ). Davy
  8. Ditto. I had a Bose system in a Buick I had as a simple company car, and it totally rocked in comparison to just about anything else, including my aftermarket unit in my Volvo. Mike, what you are describing is not typical of Bose from what I know. I hope your aftermarket unit does better in the Vette. Davy
  9. I did business with the guy and had a very favorable experience. He even cut me a deal too! Sorry you feel like you got burned, but the guy is on the level and has done a ton of good honest business in the past. Davy
  10. Ain't it the truth Depending on what the amount is, the rest will go into "home improvements" and that does not cover the Z car, even though it would look simply fab sitting in the driveway with a new coat of paint Davy
  11. But in using G-Force, you are more likely to get gearing the way you want it vs being stuck with the stock (low) ratio of 1st gear with the T56. That's what really bites IMO. Don't a lot of guys on this board with the T56 upgrade say that 1st is useless? Then the tranny just becomes a heavy 5 speed. Plus, the G-Force gears are stronger then the T56 gears, judging by the amount of horseower they claim their transmissions can handle. I should note that all of this is off the top of my head and it is late...*ugh* Davy
  12. They are both made by one company: Precision. The Nissan stuff is the best, but it is sooooo expensive. If they specify a difference between the 240Z and 280Z kits (and they may not), buy a 280Z kit for the 240 (there is a rumor that the door strip allows the 240Z door to shut more easily, but that is from someone in the know). However, they may have caught on and started shipping a universal kit, so it probably makes no difference at that point. The Precision kit is ok and is really the only non-Nissan kit out there--it really comes down to price... Davy
  13. Wow, that looks really good too! Makes me wonder what other cars' console will work too... Davy
  14. So you are saying that we Chevy guys need Viagra? Davy

    Hello!

Rick, it's been too long! I was wondering where you had wandered off to and I was thinking about the SportZ article they did on you and your car a couple of years back. Stick around this time! Good to have you back Davy
  16. Looks very nice! You don't see too many blue Chevy motors after they're modified. Is that the stock color or does it match the car? Just curious. Lookin' good Davy
  17. My first Z car was a '74 260Z that I was eyeballing in the newspaper. I should have passed on it since it was not a 240Z and that the smog laws had not changed yet, so I had the car for a few years, did very little work to it and finally sold it, but not before taking the wheels off and selling/trading them to Auxilary. Next was a '73 240Z with a 350 V8 and TH350 tranny, mounted Scarab-style. A chopped up car, to be quite frank, and had the whole rear end of a 280Z. Strange animal that I made go away quickly. Wiring was a rats nest and the moon roof leaked (sound familiar?). Rear end was flared and it had generic "centerlines." I sold it right after I bought it--it was going to be too much work. I waited over a year to buy Yuichi's '73 240Z (ZDriver.com) after he bought a new 350Z. His car had a moonroof *gasp* but the price was right, it had almost no rust at all and it runs great. I have just had the roof reskinned, drip rails removed and the rear vents shaved--looks great! This is the V8 project car, but I have to pull the motor first and detail the engine compartment. 95% of the parts are there other then a few ancilary (sp?) items. The car has a lot of interesting parts, many of which I'll end up selling, using, or trading away" 2.5" exhaust, MSD ignition, 3.9 R200, Eibach progessives with Tokiko incerts, urethane bushings, etc. The car is silver *HOORAY!* not some pukey color from the 1970's, and I am so stoked about that. The car still needs paint, but I plan on having the original silver laid down on it in due time. Davy
  18. Aux is correct--I do have that grant wheel and I won't be needing it since I have a new MOMO wheel. PM me if you want the Grant....wait, it really belongs to Aux! PM either of us and we'll do something. Davy
  19. I have Eibach progressives on my car at the moment and they feel great on the read, but they have no adjustability like the coil-overs do and that is the only reason why I won't be keeping mine in the long run. Davy
  20. Mike D, Aux told me you had already installed the R230 in your car and I was blown away by how fast you were able to do it...man, you are quick! Davy
  21. The ZG flares we group purchased from Classic Datsun are good quality---props to them! I would imagine their BRE stuff is good too. Davy
