Nope, not anymore. The Proform ones are supposed to be able to withstand street use. I have no issues with an electric pump and I think they look very trick too. Tannji, I threw this topic out about two months ago--do a search for "dream garage" and you'll probably find the thread--lots of pics and info in that thread. Refrigerator. Separate laundry room (to keep lint dust from getting into the clean garage), big stereo system, weight set, hydraulic or mechanical lifts, lots of storage cabinets, tool chests, epoxy painted floors, finished/sheetrocked walls, automobilia signs and license plates, banners, racing flags on the walls, etc, etc. Keep it clean! Totally depends on the offset and what you think "looks small." I personally would run something bigger, but that is my own opinion. Many of Japans ZG cars appear to run wheels that size or wider, but in 14" or 15". This pot may not have helped you one bit, but I had to actually write something... Davy

Hmmm, that's true--it would be easier to throw a belt. My "ghetto mount" for the alternator using the smog pump bracket is ever so slightly off. I would hate to have that cause me problems, which it might. I may have to pony up for a billet alternator bracket thatpulls everything in tight to the center of the engine before going to a cogged system. Thanks for the thought! Davy

TC, The cost of doing the conversion might cost more then the car and the new V8 combined. At $75/hr or more, the amount of hours put in will drain most people of waaaaay to much $$$$. That's why most guys on this forum are do-it-yourselfers, even if they are not very handy. But, if you are wanting to spend some serious cash, I'm sure you'll find a custom shop that can accomodate you. My advice is to do something like this yourself. Davy

I don't want to have a flywheel explode and cut off my feet.....yes, I do have a fear about this. With my turbo V8 project, that's what I will have: Lakewood Bellhousing. For my N/A V8 under 6000 rpm , the Corvette bellhousing should be fine. Davy

Nice parts. Just make sure to get a coat of paint (or something) on that Ross supplied conversion bracket or it WILL rust on you. It is made from raw steel and it does not come plated. I kept mine dry in a box inside the dry garage and I noticed flash rust on it 6 months later. I painted mine with VHT brake caliper paint. Davy

The car has more potential then you would think: the rear valence is really the only thing blocking the flow of the body design. Lose that, lower it, and put on some serious rims like Volk Racing wheels = one decent looking Z. The car would look good in dark blue. Oh, the rear taillight panel has to go too, but otherwise, a decent looking car. Davy

Tim is right, in California you cannot cover the plate WITH ANYTHING at all. A "cover" is illegal, period, but I have seen them for sale at Kragen for $20 to subvert photo radar. If you think about it, the only photos taken are the kind that catch people running red lights, which is more dangerous then speeding IMO!!! Still, you could buy two "just to make sure." I could see it now, you are pulled over and trying to explain to the officer, "They keep my new plates clean, officer." lol I bet they buy that one... Davy
