  1. Ha ha! "When one brother suffers, all the brothers suffer." However, we did NOT get the same hug you did Hopefully, you did get her number... Davy
  2. Nice! I wish I could hit some .096 RTs! Even if it was a fluke, do it a number of times and it's "what you do all the time..." All the work you have put into your beautiful car is paying off, Warren. I'm sure you're proud as heck and having fun with it too Davy
  3. Few people leave the car alone; many modify it with flares, spoilers and airdams. This site doesn't promote stock anything really; this site is about modifying the Z. As far as the Z with the chopped roof is concerned: That pic is NOT representative of what that particular car was in the process of becoming. There are other pictures of more finished stages of that car and they have drawn mostly positive comments. The metal and body work the owner was in process of doing was top notch--it almost looked like a Lamborghini Miura as I recall. Don't knock something in the initial phases... Davy
  4. If you want mine, I still have to remove them, but they'll probably be 'available.' You'd have to weld them back into place. Davy
  5. WOW! Gary, I'm impressed---looks brand new! Thanks for posting the pics; you just gotta love SEM. Davy
  6. I have not seen many cabinets that I really like. The Gladiator ones look nice, but I personally think they are just "so so" for the price. I use one old metal cabinet that used to be office 1970 beige. I painted it signal red and put stickers all over it. I use it for parts, paints, and tools. Other than that, I use Gorilla racks along three walls and big plastic crates to keep parts in. I also have a Craftsman tool chest. I still need more space and more room! You can never have enough... Davy
  7. If that SBC car is actually running, drive to Charlotte and I'll swap you my L6 + T5 for just the SBC V8. My L6 is in fine condition and CLEAN. PM me if you are interested. Davy
  8. OWNED! Hahaha! Nice! I think your wheels are certainly no longer in production. Perhaps another member knows what they might be. Ebay is another venue to keep watch over in order to find something similar--you never know! Davy
  9. I could not agree more. It's '80's styling applied to '70's body lines just isn't as good as the '80's 280ZX lines. Yes, the S31 Kaminari body kits look the part--fits the much better than on an S30, but that's my opinion. Davy
  10. Steve, good job on persevering and learning everything by yourself...and then sucking it up and posting about your experience rather than getting bitter about it. You're a man. As far as the Taurus fan is concerned, there should be a substantial amount of information within the site to cover this topic. True, the wiring of the two speeds seems to have a number of members stuck, but I recall more than one person having the solution to the problem and having completed it successfully. I hate to tell you to search, but I do believe the nugget of knowledge is out there for you. Davy
  11. It's not as nice as the aluminum jacks, but at least my steel HF jack did not take a dump on me like the aluminum jack did. Actually, biffing the aluminum jack was my own fault because I tried using it for too much weight. Davy
  12. At least you know it's about 3" across. Measure your A-pillar plastic for width and compare measurements, make an assessment, and go for it! EDIT: 3.2 in = 81 mm. Yasin claimed that 64 mm was about right. This pod cluster is waaay too wide. Davy
  13. I really like the write up on http://www.classiczcars.com !! You did an EXCELLENT job in restoring that dash. Visions of grafting an extra gauge pod or two and then using your method for repair are dancing thru my head at the moment Davy
  14. Gary, that's awesome to hear! I think a few pictures would make some new fans of the stuff. I had excellent results on the pieces I did, but I sold the 260Z a while back (no pics). Skunkie, I think the trim paint is for rubber and metal exterior trim, no? The Landau black is made for interior plastic and vinyl. I trust that unless they specify use of one for the other, the answer is "no." Davy
  15. Lason's car has a side exit... ...from this... Davy
  16. The flex plate is basically a 'flywheel' for an automatic transmission. It's what the starter engages to in order to start the engine; the big disc with holes in it... Davy
  17. I HATE yellow jackets and got what I deserved when I was 9 or 10 years old from messing with a hive. Why? Because it was there. Stupid. Two got inside my jacket and repeatedly stung me until I could finally squish them. Formic acid is the poison (if I recall correctly) that bees and wasps have inside their stingers. As I said, I HATE them. Davy

    Stupid wasp sting

Stung by a stupid wasp or hornet on Sunday. Hurt.
  19. Deepest condolences to you from my family, Warren. God help you through this very sad time. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Davy
  20. Oooh, that looks pretty darn good! I think the lights will break up the large field and make it look more balanced. Go for it! Davy
  21. 15 days is enough time for "Ben Kelley" to become "Ben Dover" in some jails... Davy
  22. Ouch. I'd feel horrible about that, but I wouldn't have said anything... Davy
  23. Shoot, I'd rock that all day long! I think it's a Kaminari full body kit too--I like the excess of the '80's Davy
  24. Dang! Y'all in the South have some very large insects, and not very nice ones at that. On Sunday I was walking through some of my bushes getting to the garden hose when I suddenly felt like what was 110 volts through the side of left leg---I think I jumped two feet in the air (white men can't jump, so that's high for me) that crap hurts! Some knarly, large stinging wasp like thing stung me BAD. I normally don't yell or cry (ok, sometimes I do) when I get hurt, but this was a sting I have never felt; it's much worse than a bee sting IMO: like bee sting x 5. It has been getting steadily worse since Sunday and I am now dealing with a speading infection and having to take antibiotics *finally*. Hey, the nurse was impressed with the infection So, what's the worse sting or bite you have had and what was the final outcome? I'm sure some of you guys have had scorpion stings, spider bites, etc. Be a man and reply to my thread Davy
  25. Better starting out rich rather than lean. Let us know how the tuning goes. I'd like to hear how a carbed turbo V8 does in everyday driving. I think tuning will be the biggest obstacle. You did great in putting everything together so quickly. Davy
