    FedEx woes

Nope--I paid through Paypal, so cancelling my payment isn't an option. I have not given feedback yet, so perhaps I can spur them into action, but I'm having no luck at all with any communication from the seller. I do believe he sent it and all that, so I'm basically dealing with FedEx at this point. I'm not as sore about it today, but still bummed out about the loss of the shifter *ugh* Davy

    FedEx woes

I did call them and they said they would get back to me. I have the ebay ad and could fax them a copy of the price paid, etc. I hope I get back all the money, but $100 is better than nothing. I have a lot of time to file a claim, but I'll do it sooner than later.
  3. Grrrr. I finally found a near new Pro 5.0 shifter for a Chevy T5, which is extremely rare on ebay and ended up winning the auction. Mechandise was sent and everything, but either 1) didn't make it to my doorstep at all, but invoice claims it was 2) was sent somewhere else by mistake and no one in the neighborhood is talking--I checked with all the neighbors and keep getting a "no" 3. The time of delivery was 4:45 last Friday. My bro was home with the kids and I arrived home shortly after that. I don't think anyone could have stolen it in that short amount of time, especially with neighbors coming back from work, etc. No package, no door bell, nada. To top it all off, I believe there was no insurance and no signature required. I think I'm hosed. The seller is not returning any of my email and FedEx has not bothered to call me back--I call BS on their "Someone will get back to you." Just venting... I may squeeze FedEx until I get something from them, but I'm sure it won't be anywhere near what I paid for the shifter. Pisses me off. Davy
  4. Mechanical pumps seem to interfere with the mounts & engine placement, but I suppose it depends on how your V8 is mounted. The majority of the SBC V8Z members have the JTR setup which requires an electric pump--about 7-9 lbs of fuel pressure is needed--run a regulator & gauge too. Some have used the Holley blue pumps but complain of the noise. You know, there are a number of great pumps on the market right now and it's really your choice. Summit Racing sells a slew of them and so does ebay. I'm sure in OZ you can get whatever you need Searching the forum here and the Chevy forum should give you more complete answers. Davy

    Stiches

Yes. You risk a lumpy scar that may give you issues in the future (ask me how I know) if you don't get this treated very very soon. Stitches are a wound's best friend. It'll heal faster too... Davy
  6. They fill in the wheel wells perfectly and look great too I think the 16 x 8 is the near-perfect size for the Z. Davy
  7. How about Hot Wheels Sizzlers? They started selling them again at Target!!! There were also cool things like the Evel Knievel stunt motorcycle, SSTs (?Those cars that had a T-Handle pull thing and spun a big 'tire' in the center of the car), and also cars that transformed themselves with a bigger engine and then took off. I loved toys that were automotive related. Davy
  8. You may find your answer in the Street Rodder type magazine parts (like billet aluminum parts & such) or marine applications. Those are the only ones that seem to frequently carry that kind of stuff. Davy
  9. He's great and so are the other two on the show. I hope the Hammster makes it back--how is he doing?? Better show than 5th gear in my opinion. Should have known. So, who is the most frequent "Stig?" And what does "stig" actually mean?? Davy
  10. Massive carnage, Doc. Bit of a bummer though, but better in your backyard then in the bog somewhere. Cool that you'll be able to swap everything and install it in only a day?!? You work fast. Davy
  11. Cygnus, The roll out flooring might be a good idea if it will lay flat. I'm somewhat unconvinced that it will lay flat like carpet, but what do I know? My local Costco has that roll out diamond plate garage flooring in stock. I bet their price is pretty good, so you may want to try them near you for price before buying something. The tiles look cool, but I have the same concerns you do about fluids. I have epoxy floor paint just waiting to get rolled on the floor. Moving the stuff out of the garage for two or three days is what's keeping me from doing it. To avoid the same issues you have had with lifting paint, I'm making prepwork a priority. Davy
  12. I have the same steering wheel. I like MOMO wheels in general, although I like Personal steering wheels too. I'm not much of a Grant fan, but to each his own. Davy
  13. I doubt anyone has tried that yet. At least I have not seen it or heard of it yet. It would be pretty interesting to see that, although if I had the Subtle Z body kit, I would loathe to do anything else to it because it would no longer be "subtle." The more I look at the kit, the more I like it. I have the hood, but not the flares/fenders. Davy
  14. Set goals on paper and write them down with dates of completion and stuff. This gives a concerned wife a picture that this busy season you are in will taper off and eventually end. Make weekly, monthly, yearly, 5 year, and 10 year goals--write it all down of what you plan to accomplish from the mundane (like the house) to the sublime (like your car ). Family, house, career, etc, all is game. Presently, however, only you can measure how busy you are for your state of mental and physical health. For anyone outside of your immediate family to negatively comment is out of place because it's not their life. As long as you are not neglecting family time, no one should say squat. Be a man and do what ya gotta do. Davy
  15. Wayne, I believe I still have that info and many thanks for covering that for me! I can't be there, but I'd love to see some pictures and hear about how he runs Should be a show for everyone there Davy
  16. I'd be in for $50, but I have to transfer Paypal first, which takes 4 days! If one of you gents wants to put up the $50, I'll Paypal it to you next week. I'm sorry I have to do it that way, but I just drained the account. Wayne knows I'm good for it. Davy
  17. I hope I'm understanding your problem correctly. One of the keys here is to find out what the spring rate is in the front. Some aftermarket springs have a metal tag with a rate stamped on them. You can buy rear springs that are slightly stiffer (higher rate) to help things along. Another option would be to add a rear anti-roll bar if your car does not have one already. Just some ideas. Davy
  18. The FAQ is a thing of beauty! I think John is absolutely correct in that the readers will get so much info their heads will explode! Nice work!!! Davy
  19. This is for people who respect others. Everything else is for money. It is not, for the most part, illegal to copy and sell unless, as Cygnus mentioned, there are patents involved. I can't really talk about ethics here because I came across a great sauce combo that blows away anything I have tasted before. This guy who operates a Fish place near me introduced it to me. He'll never market it...but I have been thinking about it...and that bothers me a bit. Davy
  20. "An 80's Finnish music video called I Wanna Love You Tender by Armi & Danny" That was just heinous. I think England was doing fine in the 80's, but some of Europe was lagging a bit....some, like Finland??? Eh? Pete, I have to say I loved the 80's because it was MY time to be cool and vain. Then I got married and everything changed..WHATHAVEIDONEWITHMYLIFE???AAAAAAAAAH!!! Sorry. The wife and I found the video extremely funny, like faux ABBA or something. Davy
  21. I did a search way back when I first came to the Internet and found "The V8 Swapper's Forum" which was Owen's baby back then. I never posted, but just read for about a year straight. I eventually joined up and the admin liked me enough to recruit me for admin help. Funny, but I have spent more time on the forum than I have on the car....pitiful. I have to reverse that trend. Davy
  22. OK, I can accept that. I was trying to provide a link to information that I thought would be useful, but it apparently didn't have what you were looking for. Your post above with all the info is what you should provide upfront (or something similar). Often, a super-short post comes off as being short sighted and asking for all the info, just so we understand each other. Davy
  23. Actually I was trying to be helpful, not an ass. I'll come back later to the thread and read it again before making a decision on what to do with you. I'd not want to be so quick to judge as some people are prone to be. Oh, and another thing, try actually posting more than one sentence explaining what you want to do and why. More pointed questions than just a phrase like... "I'm putting in coilovers and sectioning the struts... Should I measure anything before I start?" ...would be good for the readers too. How posts are written with a single questions that begs "SERVE ME!" I'll be back. Davy
