  1.  Congrats to all the members!! That so rocks that our HybridZ members won the show I'm stoked for you guys that you can't believe it GGYEEEEEEEHAAAAAWWW! Davy
  2. Beautiful! I am seriously considering it, right now. I think my kids are smart enough to get B's or better in high school and then they can take advantage of the State $cholar$hip money Moving here would give me a chance at freeing up a bunch of equity, buying a house with some elbow room and being able to retire my in-laws easily at my expense (ok by me) by providing a place for them to live at no charge to them. I've had some reservations about "the south" and racial tolerance, but everything looks ok here so far (wifey isn't white like me) and the people have been fabulous. I'm finding this place increadibly wholesome and clean (note that I have not ventured into Atlanta yet, but only north of it). The only thing now is the compensation issue, and that's major unfortunately. I have a sneaking suspicion they'll hit me up for a pay cut to move me here, just to justify the "lower cost of living," which is apparently limited to only real estate as far as I can tell I'll be negotiating with them for sure and praying a lot, hoping the outcome is equitable. We'll see. It'll be great meeting all you guys. Davy
  3. Ohh, that I did not know! Hanns, congrats from me and kudos for winning!!! You deserve it!! Davy
  4. I understand that (I think!), however, I work for a large financial institution and am involved with some HR issues regarding another employee of mine--there seems to be a number of things that open us up to lawsuits if we don't cover ourselves at nearly every angle. I doubt "we" could have gotten away with what happened to our HybridZ friend here. Also, we were successfully sued by someone who claimed that when one of our field inspectors opened up her closet, that it allowed her aura to escape. When a major financial institution can be successfully sued for such a stupid thing, it seems more rational that a employee can sue for wrongful termination. I'm certainly no lawyer, but I'm just seeing a different side of it I guess. Davy
  5. The project is coming along great! Color is beautiful and I'm sure you're going to be very proud after it's all finished. These cars put a smile on your face when you drive them BTW Davy
  6. Ah, I thought he had another screen name. Tired. Davy
  7. From what you say, it sounds like you were treated unfairly. Even if you had a side business, if it doesn't interfere with your job (take a look at the numbers, folks, they don't lie), then you should be able to sue successfully. All you have to do is produce the numbers to show your production and referrals were at least the same as, if not more than, the other guys. If you can do that, you could sue for wrongful termination, etc. Go to a lawyer who will do it pro bono unless you win (forgot the correct verbiage) and you have a suit that could take a year or more, BUT, you may win and win big. I doubt that you would have been let go in CA judging by your description of what happened. it sounds like a losing proposition for the company to let you go based on that if what you are saying is accurate. Davy
  8. Ah, beautiful restoration, Carl. Thanks for sharing that. I hope it certainly makes it into aat least one magazine when finished! Davy
  9. I'm guessing 8.98 in the quarter this time around.....if it hooks. That's just blistering fast. If you don't hit high 8's at the strip, I think it'll only be a matter of time. Exciting! Davy
  10. Hanns, I'm assuming you have driven the car with the larger displacement and the new turbos---what is the seat-of-the-pants-feel?? does the car feel significantly different or about the same? I'm very curious. That said, I'm sure the drag strip will show a significant difference in the 1/4 mile times. As a base reference, what were you turning in the 1/4 before? Davy
  11. Jim, I'm sooo glad she's OK and I hope they catch those bastards---some quality time in prison would be good for them Davy
  12. Ouch. Well, if I move, at least the traffic is the same... Davy
  13. Yes, and they sold on ebay last year. I was almost going to buy them for an incredibly inflated price of over $300... Davy
  14. Dan, we need to have a another BBQ at your place--that was FUN last time we did that. Larry, force Dan to have a BBQ for the HybridZ guys or just ban him altogether for the cars!! Davy
  15. OTM, it'd be good to meet you and the rest of the boys out there. I understand what you mean--no worries if you don't make it. I would normally never venture into a Hooters, but I'm going this time due to the company here. Davy
  16. If you go on line, just go with the cheapest one you can find. I (stupidly) went with a "comedy" traffic school for a few sheckels more and found out that the "comedy" part of it was merely some written jokes at the END. Big let down. Save your money and go with the cheapest that's approved by the State. Davy
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leEsz9ci5XE&NR=1 What are you going to do, bleed on me?!? Davy
  18. In the same spirit as this site---way to go Mike Davy
  19. Heh, I bet the neighbors just love to hear it fire up Tuff stuff!! Davy
  20. Yep, I second CARS by Gary Neuman as my #1 and Van Halen's Panama as #2 that bshiltz mentioned earlier. Davy
  21. You are free to post pictures of that or provide a link--it's something a number of us would like to see Davy
  22. Haha, then I don't need one! I'm not into convertibles or sunroofs, etc. I like a coupe for coupe's sake and I spent money on fixing the sunroof on my Z (not there anymore!). Davy
  23. Max, Auxilary's Z car is coming along and he just finished the frame rails, exhaust, and some other work as well. His will be 1) repeatable 2) within the "normal" budget of the regular guy. That's where his car will shine. Once it's dialed in, the car should be a blast to drive on the track. Davy

    GM T5 Shifter

I lucked out and finally was able to score a new Pro 5.0 for a GM WC T5 for $135 shipped from ebay (ad said used, but it was definitely new). This was after watching for a deal like this over 2 years. I would have gone with a Hurst Billet Plus just the same, but I couldn't find a "deal." Anyway, be careful of an off brand like that. I looks like a B&M knock off. Buy a name brand if you can. They should state if it is for your application. If all they have is a part number, you can Google search it and find out the applications that way. Good luck. Davy
