  1. Ernie, he's in the dark ages. They stopped the roll over--yes--and that's a formerly CONTINUING exemption that grew year after year, but it stopped at 1975 a number of years ago thanks to our Kali legislators, etc. 1965 was the old pre-existing date. He doesn't know what he's talking about IMO. Davy
  2. Man, thats really funny!!! Sorry, but I just have to laugh at that post. Like coming into an AA meeting for the first time, "I'm CrusaderT2 and I'm a Worlds of Warcrack addict..." LOL! Man, I just find this sadistically funny and I'm sure you're being honest. Sorry, truly *ahem*, really. Davy
  3. Mike, do you do any cad or zinc plating? I know you powdercoat well. I'm wondering what the going rate is for a crossmember or strut cartidges would be in Cermakrome or something similar. Sorry If I'm putting you on the spot or anything. I guess it could depend on prep work etc... Davy
  4. Yes, you can mount headers backwards for the most part. You may have to trim the flange to clear a sending unit, etc, but no biggie. To answer your question about the compression ratio and boost, it begs the questions 1) how good is the quench? 2) what kind of fuel are you running? Corky Bell's Maximum Boost is a great place to get those kinds of turbo related questions answered. Davy
  5. Oh, like this car: I think BP should go do it. Hydraulics Davy
  6. The other thing is whether or not your car is a daily driver or merely weekend car. If you have something tame for a daily driver, you should not be worried. Davy
  7. I don't have a Desktop Dyno, and the other variable is heads--power is made mostly in the heads. The cam determines what rpm range the power is coming on. Your cam is aggressive. Assuming that your heads are stock ones with larger valves, I'd say that your combo is in the high 300 hp to 400 hp range on pump gas. With good heads, like AFRs, the higher end of the scale may be appropriate, maybe low 400's. Torque should be 350 ft/lb or a bit higher. The motor is made for drag racing, but the heads will make or break it in my opinion. Again, I'm guessing since I don't have the software, but I think I'm fairly close. Davy
  8. Considering all that's in that car, $6000 is a very good price... Davy
  9. Hmm, other than the word "variant," there is nothing to indicate they are fakes, especially when he says they are made by Bride, the manufacturer. I thought Bride was a Japanese company though? Eh, they are on the pricey side. If I was spending the money...all of it...I'd buy Recaro seats. They are very spendy, but I like the way they are made and the way they feel (stiff). Davy
  10. Soooo, you are wondering about cost comparisons? Longevity? Looks? Which will attract a female? What? I'm not a powder coater like Mike, but I would venture to say that the powdercoat is certainly thicker and if not scratched, would hold up better than zinc or cad plating because it is a very tough plastic. I also think you'll spend more for it as well. It comes down to personal choice. I personally like the look of the zinc or cad plating because it looks unique. Davy
  11. My guess is they are the same. Many parts are from the same manufacturers. Davy
  12. Ah, that's one reason why your carpet job looks as good as it does. Very nice install. Ill fitting carpet kits look very cheap to me. I have one that I'll use as a pattern and do something much better than the cheapie weave they are made out of of Davy
  13. That's great! The more, the merrier!...and louder. You will not regret having kids early in life. You'll still be young when they're 20 and you'll look like their boyfriend in public Davy
  14. The mount is a stout little piece. Took a little effort to say the least in order to get a chunk out and not have it look like crapola. Davy
  15. Thanks for the info, Gary. Again, everything came out looking great! I'll see if I can source someone here locally first, but use them if need be (shipping *ugh*). Davy
  16. Les, just email Ross and I'm sure he'll get back to you. He has some very trick stuff too. You're doing the right thing by doing your research and getting suggestions for your setup. I'd do the same thing. Davy
  17. I don't think there is a bigger stock TB made---90 mm baby! Davy
  18. Came out almost "factory" looking; I like it! Who did you get to do the plating? I've never looked into zinc or cad plating, but how much would like run the average Joe? Nice! Davy
  19. Terry O's car (BlueOvalZ) hands down--my all time favorite; end of story. Davy
  20. Usually, car upholstery places are very expensive, BUT they do that for a living and do awesome work (at least here in the Bay Area) or they don't survive. The best custom work in Zs I have seen uses Mercedes Benz carpeting and it is custom fitted. You can probably get similar results if you use very good quality carpet and take your time. The material is nearly as important as the install itself! The correct carpet makes the car look even better and "cleaner" inside. Just my $.02 Davy
  21. ...and Jim, we'll be seeing you head off to prison for sure if you pull that one. I'm not kidding. Cops won't like a "firearm" in the vehicle. Don't do that. Yasin, it's just not worth it. You can't teach an A-hole a lesson--they're that way for a reason. Let them go on and reap the benefit of the seeds they sow. "Live by the sword, die by the sword." It'll come back to them, and maybe in the worst way to. You don't have to worry about guys like that. They will pay, but just make sure you're not the one who makes them do it. You can be liable for pulling off stuff like that, especially if there are witnesses and if someone gets hurt. Davy
  22. Ditto on the color. Man, it's CLEAN! Sweet looking daily driver. Davy
  23. Paul, the only part I would be interested in is the throttle body, but it sounds like you'll keep the drivetrain intact as a unit, no? Davy
  24. My personal opinion is that a SMALL cross or something isn't such a big deal and I think that's OK. But I have seen some that look like shrines and have a ton of old "garbage" (old flowers, toys?!?, photos, and other stuff) getting really ratty looking, growing and spreading out from a central point and yes, it begins to look like trash. I agree that something large or bright could be a visual distraction. Isn't the cemetery where the body is laid anyway? Davy
