  1. I blocked the original hole and taped a new hole further forward.
  2. Andy, Get your shop that's doing the boring to make you one, you can always sell afterwards. George (Yia tin Ellada re yamoto)
  3. Congratulations! Very happy for you Joe.
  4. Have you changed anything like the clutch fork, clutch or carrier? If not then something wasn't quite aligned when you Put it all back together. Sounds like you're going to have to take the box or engine out and check how the carrier and clutch fork is sitting.
  5. Yep, the vacuum sensing line on top of the bov leads to my intake manifold. We'll be interesting to see what the map graph looks like once the throttle bodies are fitted.
  6. BOV is Ducted back into the intake manifold. Going back to what you said Tony about flow being doubled not pressure, I'm running twin pipes, each turbo downpipe runs into it's own 55mm outside diameter (2.16") pipe, should each pipe be at least 3" in OD? Concered whether I may be strangling the system at the moment? Thanks.
  7. Tony, im using what I believe is the stock turbo cam. I'm wondering whether a leak can be occurring through my bov? Is a leak from the bov possible when at WOT and under boost. It's an old school hks unit. But as you suggest will check the wastegate first. It's a real bugger to remove as it sits facing the block with very little clearance. At what rpm does the stock t3 start to develop boost, earlier then 3,000rpm? With regards to pressure and flow, i got to put my hands up and admit I didn't realise that they each turbo need to be making 14 psi; considering the size of these and the tech (80s tech) no wonder there peaking at just 12 psi, but that doesnt explain the drop does it?
  8. Tony I'm running two old school HT18 38B turbos, so 7psi per turbo. Here is my power graph and for what it's worth my AFR graph too:
  9. I'm supposed to be running 14 psi - external wastegate spring is set to this. However I'm not hitting 14psi. I took it to a rolling road and a solenoid was fitted to run closes loop boost via my ecu but still not hitting my boost target. Here's my MAP graph, what do you guys think, does it point to the external wastegate spring not doing its job, or what else could be at play? Cheers.
  10. Thanks for everyone's input.
  11. Guys, I never managed to get on the group buys for the James Thagard intake manifold a few years back and now a friend and follow member is selling his on ebay. Very tempted but not too sure whether to go for it or not. I know Rick Bowers had one of these but I can't find his thread with the dyno numbers, which would help. Given the photos from the link below, what do you reckon of the design or have you had any personal experience to share? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300573385805 Thanks.
  12. Tim that looks fantastic, do you have any more photos to share? The silver log rail which bolts onto the valve cover has a sensor on the far left at the end, is that an Intake Air Temperature Sensor? So what do you do when you need to caliberate the ITBS? Is it a case of plugging up the take offs on the intake manifold?
  13. It run's really sweet, I'll place a separate post up once I've made a video.
  14. Very cool ITBS, great find! I have a set too and will be fitting them to my Z over the Winter along with the HKS surge tank, can't wait to do so - will post a pic here when installed. Pleased there are more of us running the old school HKS gear!! I am also running a 1980s HKS twin turbo kit which is pretty rare:
  15. Just thinking out loud here. How heavy are these calipers, by having two on each rear wheel affect your unsprung wait and possibly compromise handling? Which may defeat the object of having these to assist on the track?
  16. Searching for a 40mm Mikuni manifold which has been unmolested. If you've got one for sale, please PM me! Thank you.
  17. Thanks Tony for the insight, really useful info. Is there a way of converting the stock injector top end to fit an O-ring fuel rail. Reason - I'd like the injectors to sit against the fuel rail tightly and not for there to be any length, thus I want to make the injector and fuel rail as compact as possible. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for the input guys. Tony don't you just hate it when people tidy our stuff, it may look like a mess to the untrained eye but I know where everything is! Price aside, is this the tool that would do it all in one? http://www.rossmachineracing.com/injectortool.html
  19. Hi there, Need some advice, I am working on a project which requires me to drill a recess for the stock 280ZX Turbo injectors to sit in, I need to know whether a tool is available which can drill the hole as well as make the seat for the rubber washer to sit in so the edge of the injectors can rest on it. I do not want to install injector bungs but rather drill them in. I am happy, more then willing in fact, to enlist the help of a machine shop, but seek your guidance on how it would be done and what tools will be required. I did a search on drilling injector bungs but didn't find anything. Thanks.
  20. Hi all, I am looking for a short triple intake manifold. Please help me find one!! I believe the likes of HKS and Mikuni made them. Preference is for HKS but what have you? Cheers,
  21. As per title, looking for one of these manifolds. Please PM or message me here if you have one for sale.
  22. Thanks for everyone's input. Wanted to update you. Rip260Z came round this weekend and gave me a hand, we used a hole saw with a pilot centre adjustment. Worked a treat, see photos. Can't take the credit Rip did the work!
