TravRMK
Two of my favorite cars, both are pretty impressive to say the least.
ShaggyZ
ZR-1 is a bad mofo. I'm not sure which I'd rather have. Probably the ZR-1. Still, the Vette is quite a bit more expensive and is far less consistent in it's performance than the GT-R, I'm sure. But, what do I know? blueovalz
IHMO this was like comparing apples to oranges. They took a cheaper, heavier, less powerful car that competed against a costlier, lighter more powerful car. Did they really expect the GTR to win? Granted, it's a bit more sophisticated, but the numbers don't lie.
TravRMK
I Love the ZR1, but watch this video, and towards the end look at the rear panel. WTF? Unsuported urethane? Why do that when the rest is sporting carbon fiber? I guess to save a couple of bucks on a six figure car.

m4xwellmurd3r
and for those of you too lazy/too slow to bother looking at the rear end flex
Guest 280ZForce
what's funny is how close a BASE GTR is to a highly modified/lightened production Vette. the real test should be a V-Spec GTR vs the ZR1 Vette... and I'm going to guess the v-spec would take the cake and eat it too! JMortensen
and for those of you too lazy/too slow to bother looking at the rear end flex That's not unusual for Vettes and is not some sign of trickery by GM. I remember Jeremy Clarkson doing that same thing on Top Gear during a Vette review segment a while back.

bjhines
More people can drive the GTR faster than the Vette. The Vette is typical of a challenging, high-horsepower, rear drive car. The GTR is something your grandmother could drive as fast as you could.

The GTR is something your grandmother could drive as fast as you could. Let's take that as figurative and not literal. I don't think we want to see that. 260DET
Two great cars, even with its power/weight advantage the Corvette did well against against a very sophisticated AWD car. Prefer the Corvette myself, without the blower, with turbos though.
cygnusx1
Oh, If i had the room, and the dough....I would have one of each...2,3,4, seconds difference...Whatever.
dr_hunt
Yeah, me too. I think from the vids that I have watched the gtr is definately easier to drive to it's limits than other cars. That doesn't mean you'll be the fastest but probably faster than if you were driving the vette that requires alot of throttle control along with alot of driving skills. Pete84
But the Viper ACR rules them both on the 'Ring with a 7:22.1. And the team that ran it there said that with more than half a day of testing the could have gotten more time off. Excellent article on that by Motor Trend. Exclusive bit done on the event.
