  1. David, While I do have a '92 pathy, the one I have is not a 4x4 so I can't answer your question. I just thought I would post up this link, if you haven't seen it. There are some very knowledgable people on there and some good links to private sites. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?act=idx
  2. 4 months later and after 2 years I finally drove the beast. I put 4 new pics of her out of the garage for the second time in that same 2 years. I still need to adjust the carbs and set the timing, but I have 2 nice 8 foot long black marks in the road in front of my house to prove her worth. That was all because my across the street neighbor wanted it, ofcourse. Unfortunately I didn't take pics of those. It was good to play some darts in the garage. It brought back memories. I would like to thank, Willie(seen in my first sig pic, ex champion show dog, service dog and best friend, 12 yr old), Gabby(my cat 13 yr old), James Donelly(21 yr old) and James Dix(34 yr old) all of which have left this world in the past 4 months. http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7958 More to follow....
  3. The stock ZX fuel pump is rated at to high a pressure for your carb without a return. Wayne has the right idea.
  4. Also, early and late '77's have different rear decks.
  5. I'm game, no joke. I could live there without the house and be VERY happy, especially without the wife and kids. Looks like a nice place Bill. Big improvement from your last place even though I did like your last place.

    Thnx admins

If my employer only knew how much time I spend on this forum. Big kudos to all admins and members alike.
  7. This may help. You can see the other bolt for adjusting in this image at the bottom left side of the mounting plate. http://autozone.com/images/cds/gif/medium/0900823d801d1299.gif
  8. Damn Mike, and you gave me a ribbing for my other post about my wife? LOL This happened just recently. When I was putting my rebuilt motor back together I just threw one of my old valve covers on it to keep the dirt out while it sat waiting on me to put it in. Acouple months later I finally got the motor in and eventually fired her up after priming the oil system. At the time I had a friend over and as I'm letting it high idle for alittle while I get out and he says I have an oil leak. I check under the Z and oil is just pouring onto the garage floor. I kill it and start checking things. It looked like it came from the oil filter. I pull it and check the seal and everything looks good so I put it back on, filled the oil back up and called it a night. Next day I'm out in the garage again working out any other bugs I might have. I fire her up and check for leaks again. Same thing, oil pouring out on the garage floor. Now I'm thinking, what the hell. I start checking the oil pan gasket and drain plug and they both check out. I put more oil in and start her up again and this time I run around to the side that was leaking and start looking for the problem. After acouple minutes of idling oil just starts pouring out of the valve cover seal. I shut her down and pull the now hot valve cover. Once I flipped it over to look at the seal I just felt foolish. The valve cover I grabbed to keep dirt out had half the gasket missing on the spark plug side and I wasted about 4 quarts of oil because of my stupidity.
  9. Sumo, you're local to me. PM me and I can help you out with a Maxi fuse block like the one in my album for minimal expense. Lets just say you would probably spend more money on fuses and/or gas coming over to pick it up.
  10. Finally got her back together acouple weeks ago after the tear down for paint almost 2 years ago. I haven't driven her yet, but I have to make her legal first. Maybe this weekend I'll take her out with no registration, inspection and finish balding the tires. I have to replace them before making her legal anyways...
  11. Thanks Mike. Hearing that means alot to me.
  12. Hi Phil, Between my step son being sent to Bagdad early and him taking over an Airborne job that the previous person was killed on, our 12 year old dog being put to sleep, our 13 year old cat found dead in our bedroom and just last Tuesday finding a close friend dead in my living room, it hasn't been a good last few months. I'll be coming to the next meeting though. I need the distraction. So, when are we going to have this BBQ at YOUR place? I don't feel my house is safe for anyone right now. Sorry for the morbid post.
  13. My wife had always wanted a '69 Camaro, until I took her for a cruise in my old beater rust bucket on some back roads. She now wants me to hurry up and finish my '74 because it will be a whole lot more fun. She would like to have one, but it would need to be an auto because of her bad ankle. I think an LS2 with an auto in a 2+2 would be fun.
  14. You've seen my wife, so I know you wouldn't go for it. But I'm game..
  15. Pete S, promoting Cowtown Z club. I can probably help you with the carbs. I got alot of practice with my old set and the new set made a world of difference. I have the synchronizer and color tune stuff. As for cookout, my back yard was described pretty good by Cody, except with 2 dogs running around crazy in it. We could just meet up at said BBQ joint. My '74 Z is finally put back together, but isn't legal at the moment and I sold my '77 to my step son.
  16. I know the place and your right! The cole slaw on the other hand....
  17. The first night I ever got a pc and got online, well before broad band connections(wildly enough called cowtown connection, but thats another story), I had to create a screen name for my dial up internet connection. When I first put the computer on the table and fixed up my desk I put one of those suction cup stuffed animals you use to see in car windows, on top of the my monitor. It was the 7 UP spot(like my avatar). Remember those? Funny finding that little avatar after afew years because it looks like he is throwing a fit. I had just came back from a four day vacation in Vegas and had a Fitzgerald hat from the casino sitting on the table aswell. spot-fitz came together and there you have it. I still to this day have that same 7 UP spot sitting at home overlooking the computer work going on and the hat is in the closet somewhere. I never did wear it as it was mint green.
  18. I live just east of Ft.Worth. 5 minute drive. I've lived in the area for about 22 years and it is a nice place to live once you figure out what the weather does. As they say in Texas, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute. It will change. PM me if you want to hook up. Maybe for a cookout this weekend or something.
  19. That was the concern I had, considering you want the smallest shaft possible to avoid air flow interuption. That was my concern about streetability. This same concept is used on engines with a/c to raise the idle when the compressor comes on. Thanks for clearing it up for me Tony.
