  1. Their is a a lot of information on high compression Zs. Plus do us a favor and improve your style of posting, including caps and sentence breaks.
  2. articulation Nice word can be used for many instances related to MANY matters concerning mechanisms of the z's. I will have to use that in the future.
  3. So if I got you correctly the throw out bearing was trasfering a small amout of the spinning fly wheel to the input shaft of the tranny!? That is certainly a new on on me, though it dose make sense it could happen.
  4. After puttting the car down, roll the car out flat, do final tighting of lug nut (small tip) and put the bar back on.
  5. You must feel like a kid in a candy store!! I will have to admit, hopefully everything that might have been a problem was external to the tranny. In hindsight (rereading your post again) seems to be the correct course of action. Best of luck sir!
  6. Your a mighty man Gollum. Hopefully this thread you have started will give me more insight for future applications;) ROCK ON!!
  7. You need to get rid of some of those results as you start to search. Although your vid was very funny it might be a touch condescending to most. If this poor fellow is around any more he has problem fled thy old coup.
  8. Very nice:) You can not double post but mabey have this moved to interior section of HybridZ. I think some may want to see this.
  9. Mabe they just like the bling factor and want to just addict young children;)

    New 280ZX

I believe the burnt orenge is a serious mod;). Problaly help the maf alot!
  11. Sooooo any update. I saw in another post you have some new parts?
  12. They will check those as well?? Cool!
  13. Do your self a favor and search for efi bible. It is now even a sticky. Mine dose the same thing periodicly. For me it is the afm. I just leave the cap off and readjust it periodicly when it is needed. When your air fuel is off you will smell the bad combution easily. Also check the rear of the car around the muffler, my 82 had rotten away causeing fumes to enter the cabin. As for the afm adjusting, if you have the money get a wideband. I don't have one so it's kinda like peeing in the wind, but I always get it close.
  14. I'am now in the process of deciding to build my turbo engine to be a "flex fuel" capabale engine. All natural rubber has to go, possibly fuel lines and valve guilds. Stuff seems to like to eat a few products. With the initial build going to be meth inj, being able to fill up with meth mabe able to run just water to the injector. Gollum pm'ed me some very thought provoctive information concerning my possible decision. I figure change is coming, might as well stay ahead of the curve.
  15. Very nice! Appears that the original bumpers stay intack!
  16. Years back when I was in the navy I was looking through a guys chiltons or haynes and saw a v6. Now if my memerory seves me right (I'm pretty sure it dose not) that v6 was in a early model of a Z. I've never heard it mentioned in all the years being on HybridZ. I know I saw it and think I was told it was very limited. I must have a confusion here just want to correct an old memory of mine.
  17. Sweet, post some pics, will you?
  18. You might be correct, however, you have a fuel/electical problem before this problem. I would recromend starting with fuel/electrical.
  19. I have no problem with any particular car. I've always admired restored cars due to the effort, attention to detail and the reasons. If it was not for others buying cars that I can not afford there will be nothing for someone else to buy later and restore. I'm so pleased esp. gm on the quality and ingenuity they have put into their vehicles as of late. If my son loves the style of some early 2000 rig when he is older then he might find one that he can restore. Or maybe he will buy something new. I will discourage him if he wants something new that will tax his families budget. The particular car (zx) is wonderful in what can be done to it and will serve me well as a place to dump unwanted money into over the years w/o breaking the bank. Now, when you do have the money and can buy a great (newer) car and put money in it as well....... This will give the future generations better understanding of what works and what dose not. How versatile the car is what are the strengths and weakness. At one time our Z's were new, thank goodness someone bought them. I guess it is kinda like a revolving door. New car goes in gets old then gets reborn then gets old again and so on. Would not be as much fun it that were to stop.
  20. Ummm Jmortensen cover your question quite nicely. An admin wieghing in on a particular comment is usally VERY accurate! Rest assured that the information is based in experience that is often very deep such as his.
  21. Yea the injectors are fine as long as you don't go turbo. Basicly if you seach abit you will find that they will only flow so much fuel thus limiting the amount of hp you can achieve.
