  1. Yeah . Your temp probe is at the radiator so T-stat temp shouldn't matter .
  2. What's off temp. ? What's your T-stat temp. ? If off temp. is lower than T-stat then your fans run all the time , once they are activated .
  3. What he said ^^^ . It seems to me , all the standard trans LS Zs are breaking parts left and right . Thinking about switching to auto in my 83 . So far , my 78 hasn't broken anything , yet .
  4. Looking good . But I don't think you are getting good temp. reading from there . Since you don't have P/S , can you put the temp. probe in one of those holes in front of the head ( driver side ) ? I think it's hotter there and that's where the CTS for the ECM . Just a thought .
  5. It's a great feeling to hear the engine comes to life for the first time . Congrats .
  6. Wow ! It's so cool to see how far the rear wheels move forward that much . My ZXT did the same thing during launch ( moved about 1.5" ) , the tires rubbed the inner fenders . Had to rolled them and made the rear subframe bushings solid . No more movement but has noise and vibration .
  7. Gotta finished the truck first . Then I have to finish the interior on the Z . Have to wait for the temp to come down a little for body work and plasti-dip . It'll be next year before I start on the turbo motor build . Still need to get a 8.8 rear diff for the ZX .
  8. I'm working on a cloning machine . Need at least 10 clones to get all my projects done . LOL .
  9. Need more money and TIME . I'm taking donation . LOL .
  10. It looks like Angela ( 280 ZXT ) is going to get a 6.0 turbo . So far I have LQ4 block , LS3 heads and intake , 102mm TB , T76mm turbo . Saving up somemore cash or selling my leftovers ( and junks ) to get the shortblock built with forged components . Also my T56 is going sour . Time to upgrade to stage II rebuild . IRS will be replaced with solid axle , 8.8 GT rearend .
  11. Yup . That's the beauty of competition . It makes you try harder and spend more money to beat the other guys . In doing so , you might go broke .
  12. Nope . Looks awesome . I was going to do the same with my ZX , but going 6.0 turbo instead . Got an LQ4 longblock last month and already bought a set of LS3 heads , intake , 102mm throttle , and T76mm turbo . Trying to gather all forged components for the block . Looking forward to see your HP number .
  13. They are not that fast . If my bone stock LS1 ZX can hang with a 2010 GT500 convertible , I'm pretty sure our little LS Zs can take the GTs .
  14. The 91 Z32 and the truck have ice cold A/C . 10+ hrs day in the shop ( oven ) is long enough for this Vietnamese . .
  15. How does it work ? My Z had A/C ( before LS conversion ) , didn't work that well ( R134 conversion ) .
  16. Wish I can say the same , 100 deg. plus in Texas . My Z is in hibernation .
  17. Good and clean connection at the sender ? Have you tried a new sender ? It's cheap enough . To test the gauge you will need a resistor box ( gauge tester ) .
  18. Standalone harness would be the easiest , which I did on my ZXT ( $500 ) . Had no choice , the guy who removed the drivetrain chopped the PCM harness . On my 78 Z , I went with reworked OE harness since I bought the whole donor car . A little time consuming but I think it's better way to go .
  19. Probably just an old hose . When the hose blew the A/C comp. should turn off due to no press. in the system ( low press switch will turn the comp. off ) . Just replace the blown hose and would rec. new drier too ( contaminated with moisture ) . Recharge it then check your press readings and system performance .
  20. So you are saying the motor is bone stock with a cam and NOS ? How many passes have you made so far ?
  21. Strange . If the car was running fine ( warmed up ) before you replaced the dist. , I'd go back and double check your work or could be bad new dist.
