  1. LOL . I was being funny . It does look like it has a clear coating over rusted body .
  2. Highly rec gear reduction starter and you've read it right . The reman are cheap and most have LT warranty .
  3. Ebay , Champion 3 row for around $150 . It has no problem of keeping a V8 cool ( 175F ) in 100F plus Texas heat . Hayden fan ( 2 speeds ) in fact fan shroud . Have been driving the car for 8 months . And it has a drain plug .
  4. Depends on how much rust it has . Not a bad price .
  5. LS is a good platform for your power goal . If it's rare where you're at , then find something else . Lucky for us , here in the States , they are dirt cheap ( 5.3s ) . What about replacement parts for the LS over there ?
  6. I would stay away due to AFM/DOD . I have seen a few trucks in our shop with lifter problem and GM has no solution other then replace all components related to AFM when lifters are collapsed . Unless you can by-pass the AFM/DOD , I don't rec. it .
  7. Follow your FSM for diag. . They're many things can cause rough idle . I mean , is it missing or low idle ? If it's low , you can check idle adjustment and TPS . Also check the above mentioned sensor .
  8. Thanks for the link . Awesome price on OE parts . Have you bought anything from them ?
  9. 20 sec crank time is too long . You can damage the starter by over cranking . It needs cool down time between cranks . Make sure the battery is fully charged and in good condition , check your cables and terminals ( cleaned and tight ) . If everything checked out , the problem could be the starter .
  10. Awesome job ! . I know the feeling . It took me the whole day just to do headers back on my 78 . It's a labor of love . Congrats .
  11. I like . Looking good so far . . I planned to do this years ago . Just too many projects and keeping add more work to my to-do-list . Love the body style . I'll be keeping an eye on your project . Please post lots of pics .
  12. Sir , that's the dash . I love the price .
  13. I used F body header on driver side . Had to cut steering shaft in half and added another joint and carrier bearing , still very close to . That's why I'm going turbo . forward facing manifolds . You won't have any problem with GTs or Camaros . With my stock setup , I was able to keep up with 2010 GT500 convertible ( heavy car , even with 550 HP ) . Mine is a lot lighter now too . No HVAC , no bumper reinforcements . Not pretty but it works . Joint angle is maxed . BTW , I sold the 83 T5 for $500 and the turbo motor for $400 .
  14. With Datsun master , you can buy it from local stores and lifetime warranty from most stores . I haven't had any problem with it , yet . All you need is a line from Speedway and a fitting ( AN on one end and Datsun hard line on the other ) .
  15. Actually , the first pic doesn't look that bad , have way worse . Second pic , new dash or cap ?
  16. It's going to be a fun and exciting journey . I'm thinking of getting another Z . It's a 76 from a friend for $600 . It's pretty clean except for the rat turds . LOL . Looking forward to your swap . Good luck .
  17. I'm using stock Datsun master on my 83 ZXT with stock clutch ( I think , came with motor/trans ) .
  18. Are you running turbo , why cutting the rad support ?
  19. Seems like most people are using AM master cylinders , what is wrong with Datsun master ? It would be cheaper and easier to replace .
  20. Jon , do you have any pics of your setup ?
