  1. Who makes them anymore? I noticed that VR eng and Arizona Z does not make them anymore? Who does???
  2. Max backspacing with standard 10" coilovers is going to be about 5" or so. With a 17x9 your would have 4" sticking out past the surface + the tire bulge. I think 17x8 with 5" bs and some 245's is about max without flairing.
  3. Those KB's will take a 100 shot just fine. I would keep it to amax of 125. Pull 2 degress of timing per 50 hp of NOS and all should be well!
  4. Nice #'s ! Give us some engine specs.
  5. Thanks owen for the pics and part #'s. looks like I may just go that route. Kinda scary though trusting that electric pump huh!
  6. I am thinking about going with the CSI electric water pump but I cant figure out what to do with mounting the alternator. Anyone done this or seen it done in a clean non homemade way????????
  7. Where can you get these? I think they look way better than the factory chrome stuff.
  8. Man that is a sweet z! I would love those flairs as well. So 400 bucks per plair is the best price around???????????

    Jeep Dana 60?????

If you dont want to tub the car a Dana 44 out of an 86 CJ 7 is exacty 56" as is the the more common Model 20. Only the 86 models had the 44.
  10. Thanks guys, Back to the drawing board!
  11. After figuring out all that is needed to be done to the z , I decided that I need to budget a little. I still need paint, cage, seats, tranny work so I need to get the best bang for the buck on my short block. I am thinking about going for a 400 sbc with the factory 5.56 rods. I would just put in some good rod bolts and some forged or kb pistons and a 292/501 comp cam. With this set up I would save a bunch from custom pistons, crank, and machine work. I wanted to go crazy with a really trick bottom end but after coming to grips with all that is left to do to the Z , I felt I needed to chill a bit.
  12. If you get a chance could give specs on the wheels? 7's or 8's? Exact offset? Did you do a 4 lug to 5 lug adaptor ? Looks very sweet!
  13. Scottie is the master on the strip!
  14. Darius, Do you have any vids of you racin any cars on the street? Supra's,stangs,Porches, vipers????? Thats what I wanna see!
  15. I am running the 235/60/15 BFG drags on my 70 240. I love the way they hook and look. I am running coilovers in the rear with 7.5 wide wheels with 5 " bs. I would not go for the 50 series if it was me. Your rpms will be way up there on the highway and you have less sidewall to wrinkle on the take off. Also with the tall tire you dont have to drop the car much to get rid of the gap in the wheel wells. With the 50 series you would have to drop it a bunch and then your angles on your rear shafts would be not good. Go with the 235's.
  16. Not sure but something when bad. Even with the gear reduction starter it has trouble turning the motor over. The short block was used to begin with and had an unknown milage so its not a huge loss. I figure while its out I might as well put the 383 in while its torn apart.
  17. Well I am trying to figure out what short block I want to build for the the 240 after my loss of the 350. It looks like it is going to be either a 383, 391 stoker. I also plan to use the 6 inch rods to get the good rod to stroke ratio. Here is kinda what I want to do : 383 short block afr 195's 10 to 1's comp extreme hyd roller 282/288 520/540 1.52 comp magnum rollers Air Gap intake 750 Holley DP 1 5/8's block huggers magna flow x pipe with spintechs 2.5 duals Proform Hei
  18. Tells us about your set up??

    450hp rear end

Its not the hp that the r200 cant handle its the shock of a stick type tranny. Many guys on the board run 500 to 600hp through autos and have no problems. Then there are stick guys with 250 hp and break stuff all the time. Its when you shock the axles that stuff goes bye bye.
  20. Go with the lock up and that 3000 is perfect.
