  1. I am planning on replacing my 2000 stall with a higher 3000 stall converter to match my cam specs. I was talking to the tech guys at Hughes Performace and he seems to think that I should go with the 3000 non lock converter. I was worried about highway use since on the freeway I am at about 2400 rpm. He said that I should be fine. He said that at low throttle the tranny will not stall much and the tranny wont slip much more than what I already have in it. My current tranny is a TPI unit that is non lock up. Cant I get the lock up converter and buy the easy lock up kits they sell in Summit and Jegs? Or should I just leave it alone and keep it non lock up. I have a large tranny cooler in it now that also runs through the radiator. Thanks
  2. I would say with a proper tune around 400 to 410 at the crank. Sounds like a nice motor!
  3. That 350z guy must have been really babying it on the shifts . My wifes 01 Stang GT auto with very few mods runs 9.10 1/8's and those cars are supposed to be very close in performance. Sweet race though.
  4. The basic specs on my motor are in my sig. Right now I have a 3310 750 vac sec Holley and Im unsure if its is the ideal carb for my Z. Barry Grant chart says 650dp is the ideal set up for my motor specs but all the mags seem to use 750's for he tests. If I was to buy a new carb should I go for the 650 ,700 or 750dp?
  5. Hooker makes some long tubes that fit the JTR swap? Part #???????????
  6. Well I e mailed Konig and they said they make no such animal! Do you think MSA is selling these wheels with adaptors?? Kinda weird??
  7. Anyone have pics of these wheels on their car??
  8. Im gonna call America's and see what I come up with. I will post if I get any good info.
  9. Looks good, I think he has adaptors though. I looked on tire racks web site and it shows no 17x7 in a Z offset?
  10. I just got a new MSA flyer and I noticed that they are offering some Konig Imagine wheels now that fit the Z's without adaptors. They are 17x7. Is anyone running these yet? They want 289 for them and I know that is at least double what Konig probablly sells them for????????
  11. Al, I would bring your fuel pressure up a little more. Edelbroks like around 5.5 to 6 psi.
  12. I ordered the ones that MSA has and was very disappointed with them. They seemed way narrow. The ones you are showing are much wider and looks to be better quality. Do you know were you can get the ones you have pictured? Are those the ones that classic datsun sells??????
  13. I thought the scca flairs were glassed in not rivited like thse flairs. I will have to dig around in my msa book.
  14. That Z is bad ass! What kind of flares are those????????????????????
  15. 17x7 with 4" bs will work for you without coilovers. I would keep it to no more than 225's for the front/rear.225/45/17's.

  17. Thanks Jon, I will e mail you.
  18. How low is your car? It seems like all of the cars lowered more than an inch or so have a bad time with halfshaft breakage.
  19. Congrats !!!!!!! I know its a good feeling.
  20. Hey scottie , I ran some numbers though the rwhp calculator and it came up with 309rwhp for an 11.99. This is with a total weight of 2700 pounds. Are those things pretty accurate?
  21. I am thinking about going to the 5 lug set up. Does anyone sell 280z stubs drilled and ready to go? I dont need the big brakes just looking for the bolt pattern. I figure for the front i will do the 300zx swap but trying to figure out the rear first. Thanks Ron
