  1. Man, I cant spell ! I am running some BFG drag radials 235/60/15's on a 15x7.5
  2. I cant I have my bro in laws rehersal dinner tomarrow . This whole weekend is pretty much shoot for me. Where did you guys decided on going to for grubb???
  3. I had never even driven the car without the DR's on so when I did the pinion control thing I decided to see what the stock street tires felt like on the car. It was a blast ! Every time you barely step on the gas the tires squeal from all stop signs and chirp 2nd. After this I decided to see how the pinion deal would hold up. So, I went out to a country back road and stood on it from a stop! The tires boiled to 6200 rpm then came the 2nd gear shift and the the hides kept boiling and the z was fishtailing like a big dog! Ran it up to 6200 again and chirped 3rd in the 700r4! Man I better put the drags back on or I am gonna get in trouble!
  4. I was going to work on day and I saw this yellow 240 that had something on the plate about a v8240 z. Anyone know who this is? The car sounded pretty sweet. He turned off on the french camp exit???
  5. Scotty, I copied Don manzo's set up. So easy and dirt cheap. I took some 2x2 by 1/4 inch angle iron and cut it the with of the front diff mount.I then drilled and tapped 2 3/8's holes into the metal part of the mount. Then drill your angle iron and bolt it in. The 2" foot goes under the the cross member and kills all pinion wrap! I just got it done last nite and it work killer! Don's car runs 11.54 at 121 so I know this is a proven set up. If ya want I will try and get some pics for ya.
  6. Randy, The cobra was a white hard top. Strong stang for sure. I get out stang serviced there all the time.I will swing the z by sometime. Are you in the back area?
  7. I saw one a few weeks ago run at sac raceway. It had the pulley and exhaust I think. It ran a c5 and a ws6 and took them both out. Best time that I saw was 12.66 at 110. Cutting 1.9 60 foots on stock 17" radials.
  8. I am running 200 rears and I would rate the ride a 5 or 6. I little stiff but I like them.
  9. Hey Jason, I forgot to tell you that I was going 130 on the dyno in 3rd gear at 6500 rpm. Not hint of fuel starvation. 10 to 1 all the way to redline !

  12. Thats cool Jason, I feel ya. Right now I just am in the process of removing the exhaust so I can build a brace so the pinion wont hit the e brake under power. I tried the cable thing but it doesnt work that well, still hits! After the brace is done, I am probably going to bite the bullet and go with a 3000 stall. I hate playing catch up! If I can get this sucker to cut 1.6 or 1.7 60 foots it will crush most street cars in the area. After that then goes in the cage and seats. I am hoping to keep it under 2500 after its all said and done. Then its strip time!

  14. Hey Jason, I dont think you need to do the drain plug mod for fuel. I am using the factory outlet with 3/8's line there after . Remeber that I was pig rich when I dynoed all the way to 6500 rpm. Needless to say I had plenty of fuel! I would just leave it the way comes from the factory. Works good for me! I went with a Summit 110 gph pump and regulated it to 6 psi!
  15. Another thing you might try is some max flow pulleys from March. These are supposed to help. Also go for the high flow water pump. I heard that the CSI electric water pumps work killer but they dont have a mount for the alternator? Also go with a 90/10 water to coolant ratio and some waterwetter.
  16. My 70 240z weighed in at 2485 . I cant see why yours is that much lighter than mine???
  17. Yeah, Im not tripping on it anymore. I am running about 4 degrees more timing now and dropped the jets from 72's to 69's. Car feels much better and I am happy! Still I am going to go to a 3000 stall converter. I want to make sure that those stop light encounters with Z06's and Vipers end up in my favor!
  18. Well i was in the 240 and the little woman was in her 01 gt. Its pretty sweet,flows,h pipe,k&n,1.5 drop kit. Well I have been taunting her to run me and she finally got sick of it! We were going from about a 30 mph roll and I told her to hit it and that she did! I let her get the hit and then I let the little Z loose on her. I ripped by her like she was standing still! She laughed and said my car is crazy. Then some older dude pulled up to me as I was turning and gave me a big thumbs up with a huge smile! Man I love the way this car sounds when it gets on the pipe!
  19. Damn man, I know how you feel. When I went to the dyno I expected an honest 300 to 330 rwhp. Well I ended up with 275rwhp/280 rwtq. I was a little disapointed but oh well. My a/f ratio was way rich at 10 to 1 across the board. With some tuning I feel i should fine another 10 to 15 hp. Gonna go for 13 to 1 across the board. Good luck, your z should be an animal when ya figure the problem out.
  20. 5.5 bs or so is about max with the coilovers. Your tire would just barley stick out the well.
  21. If the diff does not have the finned cover then its not a l/s diff?? I see alot of 87 turbos but they never have the finned cover so I left them alone.
  22. Man, I cant stand people who talk crap all the time. I was at my bro inlaws house tonight and a buddy of his stopped by with his stang. He has an off road x pipe/flows/3.90's/tb/cai/and a 100 shot. He also runs around on et streets all over town. This dude thinks his car is the **** ! I cant wait to smoke this clown! He pretty much said he never gets beat on the street! My car is awaiting a 3500 stall and some tuning to get it in the 300 + rwhp range. I would love to smash this dude on the motor but I will get some juice just to make sure I get the victory. I swear 5 minutes around this guy and you want to stangle him!!!!!

  24. Thats sweet man! I just had mine done last weak and I was 10.0's across the board as well! Put down 275 rwhp. Praying for 300 or so after I get the a/f in the 12.5 to 13.0 range. Also timing was at 32 when optimal should be around 36 total for a sbc. Next time I will come more prepared! Timing light and jets! Again, congrats on the sweet #'s! By the way, as mine sits what kind of ET do you think I am looking at? The z weighed in at 2700 with me in it.
