  1. GRRRRRRR, looks like I will be having a "talk" with the guy I got these from. Funny, the rear rotros fot right on these, I wonder what I really have!!! Damn, it took forever to find these, 84-89 front hubs are not easy to find. Thanks.
  2. Make sure the spacer in on the right way. Its only champhered on one side, that side goes inside. If its wrong the spacer will not fit flat.
  3. I picked up these '88 300zx turbo front hubs to do my 5 lug conversion. But there seems to be something missing here. Isn't there supposed to be some mounting for the rotor to bolt to like the 280Z? If so what is is called, how does in fit onto the hub, or am I just being stupid?
  4. http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp That 35 offset is going to put that wheel 1.4" inside of 0 offset. That will probably hit the strut perch without using spacers. You can use this link to see what size tires will give you width and height and then do some measuring to see if you have room in your fenders.
  5. It looks like a Hooker or Scarab to me too. I had that setup before I intalled my LT1 with JTR mounts. Your distributor is very far forward, with the JTR mounts it would actually be a bit under your hood latch. If you look at your motor mounts you will see they are standard Chevy mounts bolted directly to the Datsun crossmember stands. JTR mounts have aluminum setback plates and thick spacers in addition to the Chevy mounts.
  6. Its all so confusing, LOL. But I am confident I have the right stuff ordered. You post confirms what the vender said last night.
  7. Thanks. But by the time I sent them both ways to California I could almost buy new ones. LOL. As you now I have you front brake setup so I pretty much know what I need, just wasn't sure the 5 lug and 4 lug were the same size. I ordered new ones last night from the same place I got my rears last year. When I finally get all this installed I will sell the rotors I have now, they only have around 3000 miles on them.
  8. Never mind, I found the answer, the fronts are vented the rears are not.
  9. I just thought of another issue. My front rotors are vented but the rears are not. Are the 84 300zx 5 lug rear rotors vented?
  10. I have given up seaching the internet for this. I am gathering parts to do a 5 lug conversion. Right now I have Silvermine brakes on the front and MM on the rear. Both of these use '84 300zx rotors. But I am going to have to switch to 5 lug rotors and am a bit confused about the diameter of the 5 lug vs. 4 lug rotor. From what I understand the 84 300zx NA use 4 lug and the Turbos use 5 lug. Does anyone know if they are the same diameter. I know I could attempt to drill the rotors to fit the 5 lug but I'd rather not do that.
  11. Thanks for the offer texasz but I scored some local.
  12. Electrolisis sucks. I've seen it in electronics from mixing gold a tin plated connectors but nothing that bad. Aluminum and steel are not a good combo, thats why when all else fails I use stainless.
  13. Just seems like there is a reason GM put that thing on, just removing it might cause other problems. Maybe go to http://www.z28.com/forum/forum10/ and ask for opinions.
  14. Looks like you've made a good start. Like Bartman I used the Bower AC mount. You have to "adjust" the strut tower a little to gain some clearance but it works great.
  15. Choosing wheels was tough for me too. Ideally you want a 0 offset so the wheel is centered on the hub. But you also need to look at the backspace. If you get too positive the wheel/tire will hit your spring mounts and if you get too negative it won't fit under the fender. There is wiggle room in offsets and backspace but not too much in our cars. You can see how the backspace will affect offset and vice/versa by playing with the link I posted above.
  16. 40 offset is a lot. You're going to have to run spacers or adapters to get them back to a 0 offest. I am running 17x7 40 offset and run 1.5" adapters. http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp
  17. You got nailed with that 93 engine again. Hope that fixes your noise but GM put it in there for a reason. It might be your fuel pump thats the real problem. The 93 Fuel Rails had the crossover located at the rear of the rails with an integral accumulator, and had no crossover up front. The 94+ fuel rails had the crossover at the front of the fuel rails which subsequently caused an intake manifold design change allowing a recess for the front located crossover, and the accumulator was deleted."
  18. I'm looking to convert to 5 lug wheels. I need to get a set of 280Z rear stub axles to modify. Anyone have a set? Even better, anyone have a set already modified they aren't using?
  19. I was just on my PM thread site and e-harmony hit it with a audible-visual advertisement. Hopefully this is not going to become a everyday thing.
