  1. Same car so that helps. I'm assuming I need to remove the door panel?
  2. The ouside rubber on the door to window of my Z is pretty much shot. How do you get the outside chrome molding strip with the rubber window seal off the door?
  3. Still debating on using the 1 1/4" adapters, but when I got the MM ones I speced the lugs for honda studs, mistake, so the 1 1/4" adapters would require another set of those expensive tuner nuts. As long as I don't decide to lower the car I think I'm good.
  4. I went with Falken Ziex ZE-512s 215/50R/17 front and rear mounted on ADR Phantoms 17x7 wheels with Modern Motorsprts 1 1/2" Adapters. I am very impressed with the Falkens. They handle so much better than my old 14/60 Coopers and ride smoother too. Everything fits pretty well with just a little tire peeking out from the bottom of the fenderwells. They are about 1/4" taller than the 225/60/14s I had on the front and about 1/4" shorter than the 235/60/14s I had on the back.
  5. Get your butt out to the garage and put that thing back together. We will accept no excuses if the car doesn't show up at SEZ, LOL. Good luck, I know I for one want to see that bad boy run.
  6. That's for sure. One of my friends said about my 280Z when I got it last year. "That design still works after all these years". My other vehicle is a Ford Ranger so I know exactly what you mean about riding in other cars. I'm taking the Z off the road soon to upgrade to an LT1, gonna be hard not driving it for months!
  7. Before you "can realistically expect to measure gas mileage"????? I'd be more worried about fire than I would be gas mileage. Gas leaks are not something to ignore. A gas leak and a backfiring engine are a recipe for major disaster. Take it from someone who's been there, watching your hotrod go up in smoke is not fun. About the idea of side pipes. I put them on my AMX way back in 1970. They look cool, and sound awesome, but if you're going to use the car for city driving be prepared in inhale a ton of exhaust at every stop light. And be sure to tell your passengers to watch their step when they get out, your friends will not be happy with the burned calves that are inevitable. BTW your car looks very cool.
  8. Thats purdy, it shuold make that datsun fly!
  9. That one freaked me out when I got my Z too. They all look like that, no clue why.
  10. I agree totally. If I had the equipment and time to tune the 725 I would. But since I'm going LT1 soon I'm going to pass on that. I know it took me months of playing around with the Holley on my AMX to get it as good as it was and I'm sure with the right evaluation equipment it could have been better.
  11. Wow, that's good to know. Wonder who came up with that thing! And they are on Ebay of course. http://cgi.ebay.com/Eraser-Toffee-Wheel-Pad-Stripe-Off-Disc-PinstrippingNEW_W0QQitemZ190016723097QQihZ009QQcategoryZ30923QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  12. ROTFLMAO, yeah that would work too.
  13. Yep, don't get over your way very often.
  14. One good source for parts is http://blackdragonauto.com/
