  1. Damn Bart, every time I think I have this figured out, you keep giving me more data, LOL.
  2. open the picture you want to post in your album, right click over the picture and select properties, copy that link. Select that insert image icon at the top of the message box and paste the property link when it asks.

  4. Way too many options, LOL. Did you see this one? http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?cs=225&pc=28653&rd=17&ar=45&tc=FALHZB
  5. I knew that, LOL, I just edited my post. I am now rethinking this tire selection.
  6. Not sure where my brain was on that one, I edited the post. I keep thinking the lower the ratio the wider the tire, and I know better. Doing the math: 225/45/17 is 24.97" tall and 8.86 wide 225/55/17 is 26.74" tall amnd 8.86 wide What I have now 235/60/14 is 25.1" tall and 9.25 wide. So actually the new ones would not be as wide. I may have to rethink this.
  7. They certainly look impressive, but there's the price thing. Not really that much but we all have a limit..............dammit. lOL.
  8. I'm sure they are an awesome tire. I have only 1 concern about those, Price They are almost 50% higher than the ones I'm looking at.
  9. Been there and done that. This is worse than buying shoes, LOL!!! I've had both Falken (Celica GTS) and BF Goodrich (AMX and on my Kelmark GT kit car) tires in the past and loved them both. Spec compare: Falken Speed rating is Z = over 150 mph but the tread ware is only 360. BF Goodrich Speed rating is T = 118 mph but the tread ware is 620 Falken Temp rating is A BF Goodrich Temp rating is B. Traction rating is A on both tires On paper if tread life isn't an issue the Falken seems to be the better tire. So am I going to drive over 118 mph (possible) and will I put on more than 30,000 miles on this car (doubtful)? Sounds like I'm talking myself into the Falkens, LOL.
  10. That is one sweet ride you have there. You are a wiz at fabrication, love the tail lights.
  11. Sometimes a man just has to use what's available. My present setup is all after market (thats why I have the fail safe switch and light). When I swap over to my LT1 I will be using the stock Z28 setup.
  12. Doesn't sound like its in good working order at all. How old is the brake fluid? With that 350 running headers is quite possible you have "cooked" the fluid from the header heat. Make sure the brake lines have been moved away from the headers. That happened to my clutch fluid in my V8 280Z. Then check the master cylinder, proportioning valve and then the front calipers. Rear wheels locking up first is very dangerous situation since you would have no control of the car in a panic stop.
  13. My new wheels were sittng on the front porch when I got home last night. Man these things are beautiful. I have adapters coming from MM and now have to decide on tires. I don't want to spend $140 a pop for tires so I'm torn between Falken and BF Goodrich 225/55/17. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/searchTiresBySize.do?sw=false&cs=225&ar=55&rd=17 Just a little less than $90 each from Discount Tire including mounting and balancing. Any opinions on either tire or another option of simular price?
  14. I have that too. I've heard this is fairly common on Z cars. If I'm careful to get a smooth up shift its fine but the least hard clutch release causes the thump. It never does it on down shifts. Mine will also make that horrible noise if I let the engine get too low in RPMs and it starts to lug, sounds like the whole rear end is falling apart. Some say get a solid diff mount to fix it, some say that will transfer a lot of noise. I know there is some play, probably too much in the rear driveshaft U-joint too, that will be fixed when I do the LT1 swap.
  15. LOL, little over the top for what I'm trying to do. Sounds awesome but this engine is only a temp in my Z so I'm not putting a lot of money or major effort in this engine. Just seeing what its capable of with the correct setup. LT1 is in the plan, hope to start the conversion in a couple months.
  16. That is quite a lot of processs on one read. I will give this a try and see what happens. Sure was a lot easier when I had the tuner dude with the Sun distriutor machine, LOL. As I rememeber my '70 AMX was set at 10* initial, NO vacuum used at all, not even connected and total of 36* at 2700 RPM. Like you said tough to attempt without an distibutor machine to set the weights. I've never heard of the Crane thing http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CRN%2D99600%2D1&N=700+115&autoview=sku, this looks like the same thing by Accel http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ACC%2D31035&N=700+115&autoview=sku. Thanks for taking the time with this.
  17. Cool, too bad you can't bring it with you. But that right hand drive would be an issue for sure.
  18. Way cool. Sounds like a blast. Too bad the video didn't come out.
  19. I will try pushing it until it pings, assuming I can hear that over the loud exhaust, LOL. I certainly havn't heard any so far. This engine won't be in the car much longer, LT1 swap in pending, just trying to see what this one's capable of.
