I found a RWD turbo 200sx in the boneyard is there a chance of it being a posi unit if so will it fit my Z? I have to make an appt. to get the rear lifted(it is a u-pull-it yard)and the rear disks are buried in the mud could not just spin the wheels and check the cover is not finned if it matters. Keith
  9. Hey Kevin thanks for the imput I picked up the How to build mopar power $20 bucks. I found a good set of 360 heads at the JY on sat another $50 I need to pick up about 50 HP PAW has a good cam for about 155 bucks (mopar purple shaft) this and a good 4bbl Holley and a AL torquer manifold should do the trick. I'll let you know how it turns out!! Keith
  10. First off let me say that I know NOTHING about mopar interchances. what I have is a 86 318 1/2 ton truck (I use this to tow me and the race car to and from the track) It is a bit under powered with the 318 was considering a 360 swap but first my wallet said can't we just build the 318? I need a TRUCK motor lots of low end grunt this truck wears 33-12.5 shoes and is 4WD Please help this truck is very important to me it just needs a good shot in the arm!!!!!! Keith
  11. Jim, The 3.08 is from an 82 vette (Dana 44M) Gumpy thanks for the input. Emissions are not a problem, does that change the cam recommendation at all?????? How do C4 stock exhaust headers flow? Will they work with this? And fit a Z??? Keith
  12. I forgot to add that it is a 3000 stall 9" non-lockup converter. Keith
  13. I have a SJ 327 sitting here it has flat tops and a set of 882 76cc 1.94 intake. I was thinking of putting it in front of a TH-700-R4 with a Holley 600cfm (vac 2ndarys) to see use as a street motor in my 73 240Z w/ 3.08 rear gear and 27" tires. Any input on a decent cam would be helpful Keith
  14. After running a search I learned that I should use 280z tubes but are 2+2 different from the coupes? Is one better than the other? I'm not in the shop right now (nor have been for a while) so I have not measured them to look for the difference, also why are the 280's better? Keith

  19. I have an entire L03 305 TBI car. will these electronics fit a 327 or will I max out the injectors? I bought this car as a backup while my rx-7 is getting a new motor and I may just drop these electronics into my z but only if the 327 will work with EFI if not I'll hold out till my 383 is finished!! Keith
  20. The check ball lock-up mod is VERY simple get a check ball from and AOD unit and place it under the lock-up solinoid and remove the plug! The best part of this is you get lock-up on top of 2nd gear! this will blow you away!!!! Keith
  21. I needed a cheap back up car. So I bought a no rust 305 TBI th-700R4 88 camaro. It has a billion miles on it but runs good, and the price was right. My question is what was the HP rating on this car? I was planning on using this as a shake down motor for the Z. Then install the 383 after the suspension was proven! what are a few good bolt-ons for this motor. I was thinking about swapping the EFI on to a 327 I have in the garage But will this intake fit my early style heads? I'm not sure what the change over year was. Keith
  22. Thr main reason for no turbo is NO MONEY I have a brand new ported motor on its way the carb and intake I have is to good to toss and to expensive to sell if I could add a turbo to it I will but six port motor + turbo=big bucks! Keith
