  5. The answer is NO!! The TV cable is used to control the line pressure as you increse the load on the trans you need to increase the psi. the cable is not that hard to set up what are you using for an induction system? Carb or EFI? Keith

If used on an automatic overdrive vehical, severe transmission damage WILL result." how can this be?? Can anybody explane this I will be checking with Holleyon this. Keith
  10. I'm looking at 2 different carbs if I cant figure out the one I have (see my post in the carbie section) I'm thinking about the Edelbrock EDL 1413 EPS 800CFM and the Holley 80670 Street avenger 670 CFM The engine is a daily driven 350 with a stock, cam flat tops, and 468642 heads. I will be installing a cam soon and swapping a set of double hump 327 heads. the car weighs about 2250lbs and has a 700r4 and 4:10 gears and short tyres Please help!!! Keith
  11. I cant find a ported vac source on my Q-jet. is this normal if so were in the hell does the distributer get it's signal from?? Maybe I should just go for a new carb and start over? Keith
  12. Not sure about the ZX cars but I have had the best luck with an aftermarket shifter with a built in neutral saftey switch and a cable that way you will pass tech at the strip a bit easier. also it takes a bit of work to fit a switch to the 700 case. GM never put one there it can be done but you will have to open the case up and change the shifter rod a fab a bracket to hold the switch. Keith
  13. Please dont wast your money on a $600 dollar system A good exhaust that will live in the firey hell of a hard running rotory check out the systems for sale at www.mazdatrix.com and www.racingbeat.com but first you will have to answer a few serious q's How loud can I live with? Will I need to pass emissions. is this a STREET car or a RACE car? A good full length exhaust will run about $1200 but will really wake the car up I have been dealing with racing beat for a long time and have had NOTHING but positive expereinces with them when I went to MSA in 2001 I stopped by there shop they were FIRST RATE gave me a full tour of the R&D center and answered a TON of tech questions Keith
  14. Rebuild kits come in different levels (paper and rubber) this is just the gaskets and seals then you can get the more complete kits that come with clutches and steels the band always comes as it own part. as for the touque converter Would you tear down a motor with a broken ring and not replace the main bearings? This is the same as your torque conveter they can be flushed but any damage done by the failed planetary to the clutch surface (the lockup clutch not the apply clutches) will fail very soon I would never let one go with out a new TC (I also back my units with a good warranty) BTW I have had a TON of these units go down due to inadiquate cooler flow PLEASE add an auxilary cooler to your truck get a low psi drop style NOT the hayden tube and fin style sold at most auto parts stores B&M sells a very nice one that is availible from summit racing and BYPASS the stock cooler Keith
  15. Len you better watch those rotarys they are awful addictive I have been playing with them for about 7 years now and my last one was WAY over the top Keith

  22. I have a 1988 iroc (donar car) with the L03 engine 305 TBI that runs rough after it goes into closed loop. I hooked my snap-on scanner on it and found a weird reading I see 8-10" Hg at Idle and up to 22"Hg at part throttle at the MAP sensor doesn't this sound backwards?? when I try to pull a hill the ECU "sees" no load(ie: high vacuume) and leans the mix that turns on the knock sensor and retards the timing and it bucks and has little power. All other lines on the scanner look normal I think the vac signal to the MAP may be inncorrect but I dont have a diagram to go by and the haynes manual was of no help!! Keith
