  1. from the thumbnail picture in your sig, your engine bay looks pretty nice as is!
  2. well, they have the + model for 180 something if you want to pay more. Its SFI rated, but I really don't know what that means. I'm going to call the company tomorrow and find out the differences, as I couldn't really find that info on their website.
  3. it would def. be more trouble than its worth.

  5. I know of a coater in Mass. with an 8x8x8 oven. The problem would be that there are a lot of seam sealers in the car, and probably the lead that blends the roof panel in place would melt. Not to mention, no bondo at all could be used.
  6. yea, that one is going to be a little small for body work, sorry.
  7. Sweet! We are twins! Except mine is the 60 gall. one, but still purple! You are going to love it!!! Mine is actually able to cycle on and off while blasting at 110 psi
  8. If a block came to me hot tanked and ready to coat, only needing to be masked and coated, I would charge $150, $275 if it was dirty, (and I would have it hot tanked), any local powdercoater should charge about the same. It took about 8 oz. of chrome and 8 oz. of color powder.
  9. yea, somewhere between and hour and an hour and a half.
  10. I'm never done with brakes! every time I get caught up, ups brings me 2 or 3 more sets.
  11. pretty much, if you can imagine it, its out there. candies, metallics, prismatics, etc.
  12. I posted it in the L6 section already, but here it is again:
  13. He took pictures throughout the process, but had to go to work before it came out of the oven for a final time. Here is the final product, its a prismatic black:
  14. sounds good. Teresa said bring Meatball subs! I just ordered the powder today, it 'should' be here by wed., but I didn't get a shipment email yet.
  15. which machine shop? You should still let them bake it, it will burn everything off, and do most of the outgassing for us.
  16. I'm not selling, just saw it and thought someone could use it: http://www.peachstateposse.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19250&highlight= Posted: Sun Jan 07, 2007 11:16 pm Post subject: 2002 LS1 Engine, Tranny Intake FS I just pulled the motor and tranny Saturday Night. Thanks, Chris
  17. Dan, when they hot tanked my block, they put a primer on it also. Tell them not to do that!
  18. make sure you bring at least 4 of those spare head bolts you got from the junkyard too.
  19. oh yeah, and of course Dan picks the color that really needs a clear coat on top to bring out its best, (although not required)
  20. we will probably outgas the block for 3 hours at least. I expect it will take a good 2 hours just to get up to temp.
  21. were they the factory finish? If so, they are painted, not powdercoated. Regardless, 90% of my pc business is brake calipers, and I do on average 5-6 sets per week. I never recommend powdercoating for cars that see track usage, although my own experience with several track outings is that I haven't had problems. I think I am just easier on the brakes than most however, as my gold 350z brembos never turned dark after several events when most people who track theirs turned dark brown. Another side note, the darker that factory paint gets, the harder it is to strip off! unfortunately.
  22. I agree with Cody. I run bolt on spacers too, though not from Ross, but high quality lug-centric ones. When my car is running its a weekend track car, and I've had no problems. The kind the original poster had with much larger holes for the studs than the actual stud are next to impossible to center, and just a little off would cause that problem.
  23. ok, one set of bolt and washer 12309-21000 (bolt) and 12308-65000 (washer) have a ~30mm bolt and a larger diameter washer than the other set 12309-V0800 and 12308-V0700, which has roughly a ~45mm crank bolt but smaller diameter washer. I think the longer bolt / smaller pulley is for the later models by the price of the washer, but not 100% sure. The longer bolt would make more sense though, since the later cars had 3 row pulleys.
  24. I'm not sure if they are different or not yet (but I will know tomorrow or today, as they are due in), but I recently got a replacement crankshaft, and the pulley bolt from the old one doesn't fit it. The threads on the bolt are a little worn though. However, 70-79 and 80-83 use different pulley bolts and washers. I ordered a pair for each of them, and I believe they will be in today to see what the difference is between them. I do know the washer for the 80-83 was $7 and change!
