    Tool Porn.

    The heart of my garage!
  2. I think these would be an interesting swap, a pair of C6 seats for $400. Not me selling them, just thought someone here might be interested. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1554493
  3. If you can sell it for enough to buy a replacement and make it better, sell ti and do that, but otherwise, correct it.

    Got boost?

The guy just mocked it up for fun. Maybe this would be a great turbo for a Z! 900+ cubic inch freight train. 6950cfm 80 psi boost.
  5. www.courtesyparts.com Look under nissan motorsports at the top right of the page and the 70-82 Z/ZX.
  6. The most powerful vacuum I have seen is when we used to hook a vacuum hose up to the sextant port on the C-130 at altitude and clean the cockpit with it. Maintenance made us stop because all kinds of small metal items were banging up the tail of the aircraft. We also used to launch hard boiled eggs out of the port. Get the egg about 2 inches away from it and it would suck it right out of your hand! Anyway, I use a rigid in my shop, and have it attached to my blast cabinet as a dust reclaimer and its been holding up just fine for the last 2 months at about 10-15 hours per week of solid use.
  7. 350z seats in mine, do a search to find pics.
  8. Those are interesting, but I prefer these 14 pistons calipers I saw at SEMA
  9. Wow, I learn something new every day. I always thought they were the same.
  10. ScottieGNZ has done it, (the GN in his name), but I think his was from the GN actually.
  11. and where is the orange peel???? It looks damn good to me!
  12. here is mine, it is absolutely wonderful. I abrasive blast at 120 psi and it cycles on and off instead of having to run continuously. http://www.eatoncompressor.com/catalog/item/504747/206949.htm
  13. nice job! Its amazing all the ingenuity that abounds on this forum
  14. DeWayne, I have seen a couple of SR20DET swaps in magazines. The only real problem I know of is the leaf spring rear suspension.
  15. Since the other post was mine, I should follow up. Beandip suggested I contact Kim Blough at Idaho Zcar, which I did. He said it is fairly common and he has fixed many without any problems. The loctite product to use is Loctite 660 retaining compound. Clean and polish the crank and pulley. put some loctite in the groove and insert the key, then insert the pulley to align and remove the pulley and let set. The 660 is an anaerobic sealer that will be as hard as cement. Further googling 660 on the net found it is also common on miatas, and this compound was designed specifically for this problem. I found it at www.bikeman.com but have not reassembled the engine yet.
  16. It was great meeting you Tom! Maybe next time we will both have our Z's out there!
  17. It was definitely fun, sorry we didn't get to hang out more!
  18. I had something similar happen on 2 occassions when I had mine and it was fairly new. Just seemed to slip like hell, but then it never reoccurred.
  19. whoops! I had ove 160 pics, so I guess one screw up is ok! It was just at the toyota booth. Outside, they had every generation of toyota pickup too, but my camera battery died.
  20. most weren't that great or provocative, at least while we were there, sorry. That Volvo was really cool. I think it was one of my favorites too. It will be interesting to see Mikekelly's photos when he gets back. His camera died and he had to leave to get a new one, so hopefully he has some good shots. I know I've looked at a couple of other peoples photos and seen new things myself.
  21. oh yeah, flat black and flat red are really in this year, and Nissan only had one 350z and about 8 Versas on their stand. I guess they are pushing it to the entry level aftermarket crowd.
  22. What is funny is, right before I left for SEMA, I redid a spare set of calipers in neon orange because I wanted to see how they would look, and since its Halloween and I have a track day this weekend and was changing out the pads anyways, I figured, why not??? It will be back to Monterey Red in a week or 2, they are a little too flashy for daily use. I thought I was original, but at SEMA I saw 2 different flat black CLS's and 3 other cars with neon orange. (none as nice as mine, of course! )
