  1. Okay, I'll have to get some sand from them. Looks really good. But I'm using a piece of box tubing with a bottom plate welded on and two little parts on the sides for the tongs to pick it up. I tend to melt down like precast stuff (like intakes and stuff) that I shave off small sections of so they'll fit in the crucible. But I'll need to build a larger one to try to get enough aluminum to cast the valve cover.
  2. Yeah, getting enough molten aluminum is the hard part. That's my issue with the valve cover now. I think I figured out how to make the hollow inside by suspending an inner mold in the middle. But what sand did you use? I have some now but I feel that granule size is too large and leaves my castings splotchy.
  3. This is awesome. Im in the process of building a casting setup like yours with a "blast furnace" (on the small scale of course) and start sand casting. I want to do those datsun emblems too! And ive been trying to figure out how to do a valve cover. But awesome work!!
  4. I have this one: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/50-1420 New and unmounted. I'd love to have a BRE spook....
  5. These are the taillights that it should have. Have these on my S130. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-280ZX-TAIL-LIGHTS-AND-LIGHTED-CENTER-PANEL-/261212583218
  6. Not to be a dick here. Ha. But if we're getting super anal then a coilover is "coil spring over strut" so technically coilovers by definition aren't height adjustable at all. Just the association with coilovers we add with height adjustability by common terms. But you are right about the dampening; don't see too many coils out there that don't offer this though I must admit. But you are correct. I know they aren't the Mckinney kit, but one of my local S30 buddies had some D2's custom built for his S30 and in the process of getting the tubes welded on for the coils, the shop welded the front tubes on the back and the back tubes on the front. Long story short he is pissed.
  7. Nice! looking good. Still have the DET compression or did you swap them for higher compression pistons?
  8. I used some spare metal pieces I had sitting around. I polished them to a good shine. It is basically what was in there originally, so it seems to be good. Haven't ordered my clear lenses yet though.
  9. I have absolutely no clue how you guys' A/C brackets clear. I've read I can use one off a KA24DE with some spacers as it puts the tensioner on the top, and since I do not have a power steering pump to hit, should have enough room.
  10. Yeah. This is something I regret not doing before I installed my RB. Now I have to do it in the car. Oh yay....... Little known engine like that RB20DE NEO is the RB26DE RWD. Yes, it exists. I've seen one. Autech made it I believe. The one I saw was done by Autech anyway.
  11. I don't know much about this car. I found it on one of my many internet searches. But its one of the best I've seen rocking the Shakotans.
  12. Is this bracket still an option? I'm looking to upgrade my Z brakes as well.
  13. BMW part prices are so high!! In comparison to some of the others on the list that is. They always say, B.M.W: Bring my wallet. ha. With that being said though, the Z3 coupe is one heck of a performer. Too bad they are rare and pricey.
  14. Yep. got them. They are spectacular. I'm finishing up the reflective material that goes inside and the divider before I attach them. Then I'm probably going to have to pay retail for some clear lenses :/
  15. Mighty car mods says the miata is the best bang for the buck driving experience. haha. So fitting for this. First few minutes of the video. Marty agrees is it "SO SO slow".
  16. Sorry. meant the third gen NC miata. I've only every heard them referred to as "MX5"'s whereas the others are more "Miata"'s. I've always been kinda on the fence about these. They, and the solstice, are nice cars. But that wrinkle in the top on the back part is so ugly. It should be pulled tight like ferrari's and such. To me it looks like they just got lazy.
  17. What exactly does your bracket look like? I bought my bracket and compressor off a buddy because my engine set didn't come with one. I have RB20 with Mckinney everything and the tensioner sits exactly where the front sway bar is. I'm so lost. Mine is a '76 so not far off.
  18. Well it's an AP2. If that means anything. Never really sat in an AP1, but they look sorta smaller-ish. Like the miata and the MX5. I fit in the MX5 but not the miata; my knees touch the dash unless there is a race seat installed. I've driven my buddies race miata with the seat bolted to the floor with stock dash and I fit nicely. But for price, if you mod the seat in the miata, it is defintely one of the better options. So many mods and such. So many parts. And they aren't terrible in reliability. With that being said, I just got home form getting gas and while I was there, a miata serves in and parks. The driver and jumps out, lifts the hood, and a huge cloud of steam comes out.
  19. I'd take that big letter valve cover. haha. Looking good from what you started with!
  20. How are you guys mounting the compressor? My compressor bracket/tensioner hits the front sway bar.
  21. Put up a pic of your setup. I bet there is space somewhereeee. might have to move a pipe around but I bet you can.
  22. They are looking really good. I'm sort of cheap and don't want to pay retail but it's looking like I probably will. It's a super easy conversion. Selling a valance and my stock 240Z markers to a buddy so I'll probably use that money to buy the lenses from Klearz. Thanks, But not these. I meant the lenses under the bumper that were only on the 240/260Z. Those are more side markers.
  23. Anyone have a set of these? I need a set to finish my 240z aus split lenses. Thanks!
