  1. Actually 2nd Thursday of each month... http://www.centralfloridazclub.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=7a7820c7b9e375a462d2ffa53ab310dd
  2. BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!! I look forward to seeing it in person next week as well, just not the view from the rear
  3. Right on Gabe !! I know the 12's are staring at you!!
  4. I am pretty happy with the car's tune thus far. I am waiting on the NX kit I purchased to get the car out of the hole, and once it is installed, I'll hopefully get it back to the track for some "tuning passes" just prior to SEZ.
  5. You may want to try Luiz Quiles at Glimpse autobody as well (407) 426-7303. His shop is downtown. 2112 W. Church St to be exact. He is the owner/operator and does all the work himself. I have seen Luiz' work and it is very nice. If you go by tell him that Mike with the 2JZ 240z sent you.
  6. WOW, I am glad to hear you found it before the big bang happened. See you at SEZ
  7. You may be able to use an on-center turbine housing as opposed to the tangential style that you have on the car now, as long as it doesn't push the turbo up into the intake manifold...
  8. I can't really tell from inside how the car sounds, Hopefully we'll get some video of it at the track shortly to compare it to the vid in my sig. At idle, it sounds the same to me and it idles surprisingly well with the Crower 276/284 cams at around 1000 rpm's.
  9. Thanks for the input all. After discussing options with PI as well as Precision turbo, I have chosen to try running a nitrous shot out of the hole. Guys with similar setups to mine in 3700 lb Supras are cutting 1.4x 60' with a 75 shot off the line. Hopefully, I will have it in and be testing by the end of the month to have he car ready for SEZ. I did get to go out and do a little more pump gas tuning yesterday, My low boost setting is 20 psi. That is with the boost controller off, as that what the wastegate is set to. What a blast to drive!!
  10. There are a couple of guys who have used the G-Force gear sets in their cars, but you are looking at $2000+ for that swap. A more economical swap would be the 300zx Z32 tranny swap. http://www.mazworx.com sells the adaptor parts that you would need to do the swap and the Z32 trannys are super strong. Regards, Mike
  11. Thanks for the update. Looks like you'll be ready just in time for the cooler weather to really take advantage of the turbos!!
  12. congrats Chris. Will we get to see the car in Reynolds? mike
  13. Outcome was a bit of a mixed bag... It would creep out 250-300 feet before I could build any boost, then launch violently. The car starts building over 5 psi of boost finally around 5000rpm's. I get full boost closer to 5700 RPM's. My stall is WAY too low for the power band (4200, but footbraking closer to 3500), so it is useless. I will need something in the 5000+ stall range to make this combo work without spraying. I am concerned about tranny temps on a long highway run (like to Reynolds) that the heat caused by the converter slip could have me going through trannys. The other option is spraying it out of the hole from 3000 rpm's or so, to spool the turbo and bump me up into my power band. I'll figure something out. Mike On a positive note, I guess, when the boost came on, Holy Cow!! Now I come to yet another dilemma... tires ... My 255/50/16 drag radials which have worked pretty well up to now, were going away on the top end. Both passes I made at 24-25 psi would just kill the DR's after the 1/8 mile and the car would get loose. I HAVE TO get something stickier or wider or both.
  14. I am still debating my choices. I have lost my ability to launch the car as I have outgrown the 4200 stall. A friend offered to let me borrow his nitrous kit (Thanks KEN!!) to see how it launches on the bottle with the same converter. If I like it, I'll forgo the converter and just run a bottle to spool the turbo. I may or may not end up doing the converter afterall... we'll see. I am going to run the car tonight, more for tuning than for times, as I will not have the nitrous kit on the car tonight. I have to do a whole new fuel curve and it is impossible to do 25+ psi pulls on the street.
  15. I'm look forward to seeing you guys run. I am anxiously awaiting the event!!
  16. LOL ... Yep, I owe you one for those Gabe - We'll just have to see how it runs. I have a lot of tuning to do with the new injectors, but I expect some interesting numbers once it is sorted out and if I can get the car to launch. I don't see any reason I will not be able to make 800+ rwhp easily once tuning is complete. John - You don't have to worry about me yet... maybe soon, but not yet
  17. Yet another flurry of upgrades were completed this week on the 2JZGTE 240z. Here's the laundry list... New intake manifold (major portwork to the inside of the manifold to compliment the ported head) 4" throttlebody 1000cc R/C injectors, Precision PTE-76 GTS turbo 3" aluminum piping from turbo to intercooler (was 2.5") 3.5" aluminum piping from intercooler to throttlebody (was 3") Tial BOV replaced the HKS SSQV (was too small) Here are the pics...
