  1. Ken - just ribbing ya man You have had so much other stuff going on that I understand why you didn't get around to bringing your parts over (they've been in the new shop for 5 month now). I brought all the parts Mark needed (L series block, starter and L28 bellhousing) over to his shop before he moved. After I got away from the L28, Garrett didn't just talk about it, he picked up the ball and ran with it, making numerous trips from Sarasota to Orlando and actually got the adaptors made. He ponied up his time and money to do so. Kudos to you Garrett and Kudos to Mazworx for woking with us all to provide a much needed part to our tiny market.
  2. Yep, did it on an E88 head. I had my buddy at the cylinder head shop do it many years ago for me, so I don't know about the cost, but it is pretty straight forward
  3. Welcome to our sandbox, and you are welcome!! I am glad you are enjoying it and you are right, it wouldn't have been the same without the HRE's...
  4. Me too!!! Thanks SuperDan!!
  5. The last time I spoke to Dave @ Arizona Zcar, he said that the r230 mustache bar is still in the works and that the Q45 bar would not work on the r230 as the bolt pattern is different.
  6. 81-83 n/a 5-speed will be the tranny you are looking for.
  7. Going for the sleeper effect huh? I don't think you'll be fooling anyone!! LOL
  8. There's some weight savings for you (50 lbs of bondo removed!!) Regarding the front, I was wondering how much air would be pushing up against that front panel. At the speeds we're talking, wouldn't you want some "downforce" to keep the front end planted up on the big end...
  9. The new Nissan Armada has a 3.36 and a 2.93 as gear set choices and both are R230's. Rick ordered our ring and pinion sets through the Nissan dealership. I am sure he has the part number, if he were to chose to chime in here. I haven't seen anything lower than the 2.93 in the r230 flavor. I remember someone posting a link to a Japanese website offering L28 racing parts and they had a 2.76 R200 ring and pinion. I think it was around $1000 for just the R&P!!
  10. Look into the Nissan Armada gear set... Rick Bowers (speeder) and I are having 2.93 R230 gear sets installed in our Z32tt pumpkins to get a taller gear... Kudos on your project. I am partial to yellow as well
  11. The MkIII is a very reliable fun yet HEAVY car. First major mod is to replace the headgasket w/ a metal one... then it can be even more fun...
  12. OMG!! I am glad you are on the other side of the country from me!! LOL
  13. I used a thick gauge wire (so I wouldn't cut the new seal) when I installed my last one, but otherwise it was a similar install.
  14. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101644 Here's an old thread of mine with a large frame turbo and before and after cam results in my old daily driver. I eventually made 400+ at the wheels with a stock L28 turbo longblock and only a camshaft change (large turbo injectors, fuel system, etc).
  15. Yes, impressive to say the least!!
  16. Very nice work. Kudos to your head guy!!
  17. There are a few of us, what type of hybrid are you looking to build?
  18. I have the TH400 that is adapted to a 2JZGTE motor. The original bell housing was cut off and adapted to a 2JZGTE bell housing... anyway, the body of the transmission fit fine without any cutting or trimming of the transmission tunnel in my 71 240z ... Mike
