  1. I saw the face first too ...
  2. If you aren't gonna pick it up, then lemme know where it is and I'll do it even if it is a viscous LSD, I could use another viscous LSD for my n/a. I am runnin a viscous LSD in the turbo car now
  3. Hey Scotty, any chance on you making the trek down to SEZ3 Sept 14th?? I'd love to check out your car (it's come a long way) and it'd be kool to put a name w/ a face as well excellent story !!
  4. Couldn't the "ridge" between intake and exhaust result in a "hot spot" where pre-ignition could occur?
  5. Is that fuel pressure with the vacuum closed to the regulator? I believe fuel pressure for stock type injectors is ~36 and I know my 440's have a base of 43...
  6. Yes, they are pretty tall !! I too wanted better rear end gearing than my 3.70 LSD, but until the unit has to be rebuilt, I'll run the 3.70's. I went w/ the largest tire that would work w/o any other modifications... My inner fender lips are rolled in (up into the wheel well), but that was for a 245 50 16 street tire I was running that would rub over bumps. You could just roll the lips in if it is too close for comfort.
  7. I run BFG 235/60/15's DR's on the stock turbo rims in the rear on track days. I made the mistake of driving with them on to the last Reynolds meet in the rain and ... NEVER AGAIN!! It was a white knuckle ride once the roads got a little wet. From now on I will bring them with me if I go to any events further from my home.
  8. Enkei made a set, but they are long out of production now. I have a set of 16's on my 77.
  9. I took the stock automatic oil cooler adaptor to a local machine shop and had the oil holes tapped for 1/2 npt and then ran braided hose to a large B&M oil cooler up front between the intercooler and the radiator.
  10. Talk to me in a couple of weeks, I begin the mounting process tomorrow... T-66 P-trim .58 a/r exhaust side, .70 a/r intake side , 3" downpipe and Racegate wastegate Gettin ready for Reynolds 8)
  11. I run 235/60/15's using the 82-83 280zx turbo wheels on my 77....
  12. Gotta admit, I love taking people for rides almost as much as I enjoy driving the car myself Congrats on having the car up and runnin!!
  13. See you guys in a couple of months. I 'm about to head out the door and I am not sure what I'll do w/o my daily HybridZ fix Talk to you all soon and "Keep the shiny side up!!" Mike Gadwaw Orlando, Fl
  14. I was out for a little drive this evening before I put the car to bed for 2 months and rolled up to a stoplight on Conway road (for you locals). It is 2 lanes each way and nice and straight. I figured, I got rained out of the dragstrip last week, I still had a 1/4 tank of 114, boost still set to 22 lbs and wanted to have a little fun. I know it would have been there when I got back, but I felt the need to let loose a little 8) Anyway, I was in the right lane, there was a pick-up to my left and a sport bike of unknown size or origin (I am really motorcycle illiterate unless it is a Harley since they are very distinctive) rolls up behind me. The light turns green, I roll out nice and smooth, shift second, shift into 3rd ~ 40mph and then the bike guns it, zips around to my left side in front of the pick-up and my foot goes to the floor. Boost hits, and it's on ... my tires start screaming and hook suprisingly well, bike is at my side mirror, I wind out 3rd to 6K RPM, shift into 4th, bike has dropped back slightly and is at my door handle. I stay in it for a couple more seconds to ease my curiosity. The bike is still at my door handle. I let out of it and slow back down to the speed limit. The bike continues on, flying past me going to wherever it is he was going. As for details on the sport bike, all I can tell you really is that it had 2 headlights molded in to the front, a really wide tire on the back and a large chrome exhaust exiting on the right side. Just thought I'd share and I guess I DO have something to think about while I am gone What a rush
  15. You could always tap into your fuel line and run a temporary fuel pressure gauge (outside the car ofcourse) to watch your fuel pressure under boost to see if and /or when it drops off.

    Aaarg!!!!

I feel your pain. I rarely get to play w/ anything decent if i am in the turbo Z. I always get passed by vettes, stangs, porsches, etc when in the "beater 240z". It is probably just as well.... less trouble to get into... 8)
  17. It is possible that the stock pump can't keep up as well. I say... new fuel pump. Walbro GSL-392 is the unit I am using with a 43psi base and no pressure drop (63psi) at 20+ lbs of boost.
  18. The viscous LSD is also 3.70
  19. Don't forget, if you plan on running the stock head, you'll have to drill it for EFI...
  20. I shall follow the "School of Norm" in this endeavor. It is nice to have access to someone who has been through the ringer before you
