  1. I am not sure how much to take off exactly, but using the 2mm gasket on a stock turbo bottom end, you'll have to get the head cc's down to around 44-45cc's from the stock 53...to yield ~ 7.8:1 compression
  2. Congrats!! I was engaged for 8 years before we finally had her best friend (a licensed notary) marry us on the beach at sunrise 2 years ago. By the way, my wife humors my Z habit, atleast it keeps me around the house.
  3. When wiring in new injectors to the wiring harness, does it make a difference which "prong" receives the + signal? Thanks in advance,
  4. That should give you around 7:1 compression. Your off boost would be crappy. I'm not sure how that would affect you under boost though. I need another 2mm gasket, used is OK 8) If you don't use it, or if anyone else has one, lemme know.
  5. I have seen her at the track here in O-town... She's pretty hot
  6. I love the metal head gaskets. If you have the opportunity to grab a 1mm for $50, then do it. They can be reused over and over again. The new Nissan jobber is ~1.2mm crushed and the Felpro is 1mm crushed as well. I'd use the metal one, hands down.
  7. Keep your chin up, You've done the hard part. The rest is gravy and don't worry, you will feel the difference. If you have time and feel a little adventurous, you could do what was just suggested and run a hose from the intake manifold to the wastegate to sense boost. I guarantee you will notice a difference.
  8. I second the timing remark. That is usually the culprit in those situations.
  9. At least you are OK. Remember, the material items can be raplaced...
  10. Hey Jeff, I kinda figured something was up when you attempted to carry the front clip down from Jim's shop. He told me about it Anyhoo, glad to see some progress finally!!! kick A$$
  11. It is tough times for all the Pittsburgh teams... I am going to see the San Diego game. I am very excited to go none-the-less as I haven't been to Pittsburcgh in 10 years and haven't seen a Steelers game in person. Fitzgerald for Heisman!
  12. Just turned 33 Sunday Didn't get any Z stuff for my birthday, but my wife suprised me with Steelers tickets (been a fan all my life) and a hotel room in Pittsburgh while I am visiting Pa for the holidays...Good woman 8)
  13. My 2JZ-GTE is on it's way from Minnesota and should be here in a few weeks. I haven't decided how I am going to do my mounts yet ... should I just do a one off deal and weld them to the crossmember, or should I have some sort of bolt in deal. I guess it will all come down to cost (as with anything else). I am going to be using the 2JZGE 5-speed for now as I understand the 6-speed Getrag is very large and would be much more difficult to fit in the transmission tunnel. I will also be running a T-66 single turbo and SDS engine management, as I have them left over from my L28 turbo set-up. I will keep you all posted and document my progress once it begins (after the Christmas holidays). I hope to have it ready for SEZS 4!
  14. A bead on the end of each pipe is just cheap insurance. I had to have one welded onto my throttlebody as well to keep the silicone hose from blowing off under high boost.

    Here's where I bought mine though... http://www.roadraceengineering.com/intercoolers-print.htm 2-115 spearco...1100 cfm's
  16. Hey James, how about a turbo header for me as you first project
  17. A generalization... Turbo motors like load. By having to shift earlier, you have to get out of boost. The longer you can stay in a gear, the longer the turbo can spool. The 3.54 or better yet 3.36 allows that to happen. It is pretty much the opposite of the n/a set-ups where you want to run through the gears quickly. Running through the gears quickly with a turbo set up, does not allow you to take advantage of the turbo.
  18. I bought mine from TEP, but you can try http://www.arizonazcar.com/valves.html
  19. Well, made the trip as well. I made a few passees in my daily driver 240z, the best of which yielded a 14.80 @ 93.3 mph with a 2.15 60'. I was pleased overall, but missed driving the turbo... Anyway, 1SickZ, I have a diff for you. Just drop me an email and we'll figure out how to get it to you. mike
  20. My 77 has those stress cracks on both B-pillars... Fortunately it is a temporary "home" for the turbo drivetrain until it's new home (71 240z) is ready
