  1. Man Jeff, news travels fast Clifton: P-trim .58 a/r turbine side. Anyone else interested... Just returned from reynolds... No 11 second pass for me yet as I was kinda babying it off the line so I would not break the CV's again, but ran a days best of 12.2 @ 122.8
  2. Oh by the way, it was done by a bunch of good ole boys (great guys) at a Corvette shop. After the run and stepping out of my car, the guy said, "This thing moves right along!". They just finished dynoing an 96 Impala SS with a 396 and a supercharger at 13psi. He was running kinda rich and made 370 HP /370 TQ. Their eyes got pretty big after seeing my run. It made me feel pretty good
  3. Well, I have had so many people ask me, "How much horsepower are you making?" and "Have you had it on a dyno yet?", so I figured I should take it out and have it checked before the weekend. I also wanted to do some minor tuning since I haven't been able to keep the rear end together the last 2 times I went to the drag strip Anyway, in case you didn't know, new round of mods included T-66 turbo, external wastegate, and 550cc injectors. Well, on a Dynojet at 19 psi, and slight miss at ~3900 rpm's ... max RWHP = 363.4 and max torque = 412.3 I am pleased with the numbers, seeing as how I have not had much time to tune the car and still have room to grow as I get the air/fuel straightened out and turn up the boost See you all in Reynolds
  4. I took a couple of pics, but I haven't any place to host them. I'll be happy top send a few out if someone wants to post them
  5. Looks like a nice clean install. Enjoy!!
  6. Check your intake manifold bolts... just had the same problem w/ mine. I had one back off slightly and on hot starts...bang! tightened the bolts and viola!! gone
  7. I know it is a bit pricey, but I didn't realize how far out of tune my car was until I installed an EGT. The air/fuel meter is good, until you get into the higher RPM's and that is where the EGT takes over.
  8. You are always welcome to catch up w/ us at the track!! I am looking for my first 11 second pass before I start shooting for low-mid 11's regarding fitment, The wastegate is very close to my brake portioning valve and the lines from my master cylinder. That was the only fitment issue I had, other than needing a couple of silicone hoses (90* 2.5" bend, and a 4"- 3" reducer since the turbo inlet is 4 inches!!. I had bought James' old T04 manifold and racegate when he went twin turbo and they have been on my garage floor for probably a couple of years. I finally got around to using them... I believe he ran an equivalent of a T-64 then, so it was pretty much done for me already 8) I'll shoot some pics tomorrow (weather permitting) and send them to my profile. mike
  9. That is some impressive company you are keeping there
  10. I just extended my subscription as well
  11. I'll sell you my manual controller for the $20 + shipping, or I'll be bring it w/ me to Reynolds next weekend and see if anyone else is interested. I've now gone w/ an HKS EVC EZ unit and no longer need it. It was good to 23+ psi when I ran it with my t3/t4 hybrid turbo.
  12. As Scottie said...rained out at the track. I hope to get a chance to tune before Reynolds, but if I have to tune 7 hours away from home, I will First impressions...well, the T-66 is a large turbo to say the least. Performance at 10 psi, mildly tuned (thanks Scottie) compares to 15-16 psi w/ the hybrid turbo I ran previously (butt dyno of course). I have full boost by ~3500-3700 rpm's (thanks to James' recommendation of the .58 a/r turbine housing), pulls like mad and sounds very angry with the wastegate vented to atmosphere. It feels very impressive (even got Scottie's attention) and I can't imagine what it would feel like at 20+ psi. Sidenote: Installing an EGT is highly recommended!! I installed an egt finally (as well as an electronic boost controller) and it really makes tuning easy. I wish I would have done it 2 years ago when I started this journey.
  13. Hey Clark, check out the Walbro GSL-392 inline pump. It is what I am runnin in the 77. I think I paid ~$130 for it through Alamo Motorsports. Quiet and delivers lotsa fuel... Mike
  14. Yep, military and too lazy to change his contact info ... His name is Jamar and he lives in Jax. He doesn't spend too much time here on this site, as he usually calls me to ask questions instead... Drop me a PM or E-mail w/ you phone number and maybe we can all hook up.
  15. see this thread... http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25429&highlight= CletonZ (Jamar) is coming from Jax too with his turbo zx. You guys should hook up. He met us at the I-75, I-10 intersection last time.
  16. Hey Mike, if you need to sell the rears, I'd be interested in buying them... maybe all four if you need to sell'em all. Rergards, mike
  17. Looks good, you joining the Florida caravan to Reynolds in 2 weeks?
  18. probably stuff you already checked, but... signal wire to starter hooked up? Try jumping the car (weak battery) starter could be frozen from sitting... it is probably something simple...usually is...
  19. My daily driver is getting a similar treatment to what you are contemplating. I am however using the 280 block, .40 overbore, LD28, L28 rods and dished pistons shaved 1mm, 2mm gasket. The problem you will find is that the L26/L28 rods are very short for this set-up. I had to have a bunch of material taken off of the crankshaft counterweights and the piston skirts.... and then rebalancing the rotating assembly... if you are dead set on the L24 block LD28 crank, you may also run into connecting rod, piston bore clearance issues... I'd probably recommend buying custom pistons and using your L24 rods. You'll be close to the same price, maybe further ahead. I only wish I would have done that now... Oh well, another experiment in L-engine_ering
  20. Private pilot, instrument rating and 2 weeks from my commercial multi-engine when the school went belly up...and took all of the student's funds with them (had to pay up front and myself included) . If interested in hearing more about the story... hit the link http://www.tppc.biz/
  21. I purchased mine here http://www.taprecycling.com and my buddy just got his set as well from them. $80 for the pair plus shipping. They are used, but mine were in excellent condition and came loaded w/ pads and all...made it easy to match up the correct set when you go for new pads.
  22. Sounds like overall great news scottie atleast you have solved the mysterious leak and tranny shifting problems
