  1. I have an RB25 swap in progress in Tampa. Lots of fast cars around Florida.
  2. I am thinking about selling a bridge I own in Brooklyn. Anyone have the bidder's e-mail?
  3. I am getting rid of the rust. Removing the motor to rebuild it after I paint the car. Whenever I stop being lazy I'll actually have some progress to report.
  4. I really liked the article on aerodynamics. Some things in it that I hadn't thought of. Thanks
  5. What's wrong with just ignoring people with stupid questions? Nobody is being forced to answer. Eventually they'll find the search button or just leave.
  6. Yeah, that's Darius. I think the part of the episode is on his website.
  7. I bought a Lincoln SP-135T a few years back. It is a wire feed mig welder. It can be used with or without gas. It does require you to prep the metal a little but I haven't had any trouble with it. If I had the money I would buy a TIG for the ease and variety of metals you can work with. If you plan on doing thin gauge body work you will get the best results from a TIG or a gas MIG welder.
  8. I feel for all of you guys in Cali. Not to make you feel bad, but Florida couldn't care less what you are driving. The cops in Tampa don't even look your way unless you're driving drunk. Knock on wood... I'll probably get pulled over tomorrow.
  9. I saw this screensaver on a friends computer today and I search the internet to find it. It is a complete build-up of a four cylinder engine in 3-D. It begins with the block and ends with a cut away of the engine operating fully assembled. I spent a good 20 minutes just staring at the screen when I first saw it. The file came through clean for me but I would still have your spyware working if you download it because I don't know must about the host. Engine_screensaver Allow some time because it is 44mb.
  10. I have used a cherry picker with the fold up legs so you can store it easily. I think I bought it a PepBoys for about $125. I figured that a couple of uses and it would be cheaper than renting one.
  11. Thanks for adding those last pics. It looks awesome. Looks like just the right proportion for the car.
  12. They look great. Nice choice on sizes. I would love to see how those tires look from the rear. It is too dark on the rear pics you took to be able to see the tires. Any chance of taking another pic?
  13. My grandfather had similar problems when he bought his Explorer. He always pays cash for his cars and the dealership didn't want to deal with cash. They said that cash was too much of a bother because the government asked questions as to where the money came from. They must think that my 82 year old grandfather is a local drug dealer. It's just some bullshit way to get their financing money.
  14. I recently put my IH Scout II on ebay for sale. I kept getting the same questions that were answered in ad or I got questions looking for advice on rebuilding one. I guess you just have to put up with them or risk during away a possible buyer.
  15. I have bought three JDM Honda engines for different projects over the las two years. I have never rebuilt the engines. I also never had a problem with them. The motors turn out to be very economical options.
  16. I really like those rims. Worth the money and wait if you get them with the backspacing and size you need. Maybe someone can answer this question. Is it possible to get this style wheel in a 5 lug pattern. I know they are an older style and by the looks of the pictures in this thread it doesn't seem possible. Has anyone seen or heard of Watanabe rims with a 5 lug pattern?
  17. Looks good. Maybe two more bolt holes and make the tranny mount into an H shape. That would solve the weight issue. Just an idea
  18. Did you read his post? He says it ran 7.8 at holt with just zc motor and 75 shot. It might be one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen but I'd drive it if it could run a consistant 7.8. (I just hope he is talking 1/4 mile. If 7.8- 1/8 mile then to hell with ever driving that junk.)
  19. I have a new ebay whiner question... Sometimes when I sell items on ebay I'll set a reserve price. I always research similar items that have sold recently and set my reserve low enough to still give the buyer a deal. I often get people asking what my reserve is. I don't think I have ever asked anyone what their reserve price is. I feel that ebay keeps it hidden for a reason and if they want to know badly enough then they can bid until it is reached. If they hit their limit and the reserve isn't met then it doesn't cost the bidder anything. If I respond to their questions by trying to explain that I don't want the reserve known then will that scare off some potential buyers. Then again, if it scares them off then they probably weren't serious in the first place. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.
  20. Really good video. It gives me a clearer picture of what I need to do to my RB25DET to get the power I want. Thanks
  21. I friend has your setup in a 2003 Spec-V Sentra. He has 720 injectors and a Jim Wolff ecu flash. He dyno'd at 434whp @20psi on 93 octane. If he had an AEMstand alone the numbers would be closer to 450-460 @ 20psi. I attached the dyno sheet for you. http://forums.hybridz.org/vbgarage.php?do=popup&image=http://forums.hybridz.org/vbgarage.php?do=getimage&id=198 Hope this helps you out.
  22. I am with you on this one. I wait until the end to bid. It doesn't make any sense to drive up the price just so that you can have your name listed as the high bidder. They all got beat and now they're complaining. Next time they'll be faster.
  23. I always say the same thing...all the good cars seem to be in Houston.
  24. I like the idea of there being a ready to use kit available but I just don't see a 'one fits all' solution. There are a two types of transmission mount brackets in the 240Z. The transmission mount in the picture seems to be for the earlier 240Z (vertical bolt style). Then would this kit be of no use to anyone with a Z newer than 1972? Then there is the problem of what transmission to use with an RB motor. Is the kit going to have to come with a list of parts that is was designed to be used with? Once again, I think it is a good looking kit. I have spoken to McKinney in the past and they are very easy to deal with and provide good products. I just don't see how one kit can fit all of the possibilities. I would be interested if you could purchase only the parts that you would need. I am sure they will do something of this nature. I mounted an RB25 into a 240Z and I spent less than $20 to do it. Sometimes you just have to stop and think things out and you'll find and inexpensive way to get it done.
