I hate to burst your bubble about the rates guys but insurance companies use any excuse to raise your rates. If it's your fault they say that you are 'accident prone' so they have to raise your rates. But guess what if you got into an accident even if it's not your fault we have to raise your rates too! Why? "your accident prone" and God forbid you use a chiropractor, then they drop your butt unofficially they frown upon it due to insurance mills. But not all of the insurance companies do it but a lot of them sure do.

Well look at it this way, we always need a good supply of future strippers and Joe millionare contestants.

Get a tranny from a junkyard like all american auto salvage in Ft. Worth. They should include install with the price. Then dont use the car and trade it in. Most small claims court will laugh at you wanting it to be fix for free at 8000 over the limit. It's like insurance, you're good till midnight but if you have an accident at 12:01 you're outta' luck. I'd go used tranny and trade it in.

Well, im in the same position you are. Big hole under the battery, never welded before. But from what the professional welders tell me butt welds are better to lessen the chance of moisture seeking little crevices. Make a patch panel then tack it to see if it fits correctly, then weld a small section here, then on the other side, then the other to prevent warpage. Then after all the welds are met and finish put a seam sealer if applicable. They all tell me that you just dont want water to have a place to sit down because it'll rust out again.

Im with Davy, if you want to know the real value ask the dealer for the "black book" value of the vehicle you want. KBB, NADA, Edmunds are used only for vauge references, insurance companies and by banks. A friend of mine wrecked his Honda Accord and the insurance gave him the low ball figure on KBB. We told them that even from a private seller from the news papers you couldnt get an Accord that cheap. "Real world" values from the newspapers were taken and three separate but identical estimates(except mileage give or take a couple of thousand miles) from dealers and we got a couple of grand more. In some cases you just need to use whatever gives you the advantage.

The block was just given to me for nothing, i was just wondering about prices since i've never dealt with the machine shops before so i dont want to get screwed. I dont have the small piece that broke off, i guess that's why i got it for free. I'm just shopping around for prices with you guys who have experience with machining prices before i jump into it.

I have bare block 4 bolt main 70-73 missing one ear at the bolt hole where the bell housing bolts onto it. Can anyone here give me an idea of what needs to be done to see if the block is still useable and what kinda prices i might expect, even if its just ball park figure. Thanks.

Ok, let me see if the sheet metal is clean and how much he wants for it. I'll let you know Monday night. By the way there are no taillights on it so it should make the job easier.

When you say you need the corner sheetmetal, do you want the housing where the tailight used to sit? I know of a 90 Z32 for parts but which part do you need and how to ship this thing.
