  1. I'm trying to get my car ready for a Big Phil vs Bloz Up match. You'll need the RB30.... (ohhhhhh)
  2. Sending all my money now, sight relatively unseen!
  3. No arm restraints? Thought for sure he was going to have a pancake hand or two...
  4. So the piping would fit. The intercooler is a little too wide. I didn't need that pusher--it's not longer on the car. Plus that fan was worthless in a push configuration. Right now I have one 12" puller cooling off the car just fine at low speed. Otherwise airflow seems sufficient and my datalogs confirm that the intercooler works well also.
  5. BLOZ UP

    Anti-lag

I thought it was the high exhaust temps that killed the turbo, from the fuel mixture still burning in the exhaust?
  6. I think putting it wherever air can flow out the easiest is more important. I'm having issues with surging on throttle-off. Could be many things. But I did have this BOV and this engine working fine together. And that's about all that's stayed the same now.
  7. So instead of saying "NITROUS OXIDE" and having flames and whatever other stupid stuff on it, it's a little less noticeable. And apparently my morning tea is violating OSHA guidelines or whatever you think applies since it's in an unlabeled mug.
  8. I'm sure they also don't apply to a private vehicle.
  9. I'm telling you, the problem are the middle and high schools. They feed really dumb people in to college, and colleges have to show "graduation rates" to get funding. So everything gets dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. My wife teaches freshman English. It's way worse than I thought. 90% of her students just expect to get an A for "trying". I assume because that's how it worked in high school. 10% of them are actually prepared and do the work correctly with a clue. Yeah, I agree. A BA/BS degree is the new high school diploma.
  10. I thought they, somewhere in CA, suspended affirmative action at one point--basing it solely off merit, and then minority registration went through the ... basement. Prop 109 or something like that. And everyone cried, "you can't do that, that's discrimination!" But they are right. Affirmative action is discrimination. Anyway that's way OT.
  11. Genius. Maybe in big bold text: "FIRE", and then as some small subtext for the more inquisitive: "Enflamer"
  12. It probably depends. I was discouraged by all the freshman and sophomore level classes, but hung through them after a bit of difficulty. All my senior level classes and technical electives were a blast. I even enjoyed Cal III. At my school they really just wanted to weed out people to try and increase their graduation rates of students who are actually in their respective programs. But the electives and upper level classes, that's reason I signed up for Computer Science in the first place. Problem is they won't let me attach flamethrowers, pistols, or even just a few dull knives to the autonomous robots here.
  13. You can do it inline on the wire itself as well. Then heat shrink it all together.
  14. It's surge. It also, in all of those videos, was surging at "full" throttle. Upon further investigation I had adjusted the cable incorrectly and was only getting 75% throttle. So instead of the 17.5 psi that I thought was full boost, on a 14psi wastegate spring, I now have 20.5 psi. So, I have no traction, I don't think I have surge now at WOT... but it came on quite strong and I wasn't really paying attention to the sounds of surge, if any. It also surges really easily during shifts. The BOV appears to be a little tight. It takes quite a pressure difference to open it. I think I might try and remove a coil or two and see what happens. So, it's down at the moment while I take apart the wastegate and see if it needs a rebuild, and for a 8psi spring regardless. I'm also adding a flex pipe to the secondaries after finally finding a properly sized high-pressure flex joint. And some heat shielding and other things while I am there. It might be a little louder when I'm done.
  15. Here's a Z31 wheel next to a new wheel and the problem I had. There's an extra hole on the Z31 distributor assembly. The retainer in the middle and below the wheels in that picture has 2 prongs on it. Just grinding off correct one worked for me.
  16. Nice try all those vids were filmed in Germany.
  17. Don't get your books at the school's bookstore. I get all mine off Amazon for 60-80% of whatever they would be at the bookstore. Unless the teacher has made a compilation, though, which is usually cheaper but still a rip and you can only get it at the bookstore. But higher education here isn't that bad (although I've heard it's going down hill). It's the middle school and high school systems that are churning out complete idiots. There are a few documentaries on various causes.
  18. I had just come from that direction not two minutes prior to make sure that there weren't any cops nearby. So, not only did a car break down in that time span, the cops showed up as well. I'm not breaking too many laws. Really just trying to break the car rather than drive recklessly.
  19. Yes. She thinks her TT Z32 is faster. We'll see once I fix these issues.
  20. Yes, it should be based off of firing order instead of cylinder order. Tony D also mentioned that you're more likely to be able to limp home if one driver fails. In some post. Somewhere.
  21. Well, I've run into a few small issues. In order or importance: 1) Exhaust is too low 2) Surging at WOT 3) Exhaust v-band leaks 4) Exhaust flange leaks 5) A coolant leak that requires "touch-up" welding 6) Leaning out at tip-in (accel-enrich) 7) Fuel pump might be dying. Again. 8) RPM's are shaky at high load Here's a couple graphs that shows lean tip-in, and the shaky RPMS: There's a nearly 1000 RPM spike between samples in one instance. I don't think my car accelerates that fast. This is also when the turbo is surging, but I can't feel it. And the effective MAP (after the throttle body) is pretty solid. I would really like to solve that problem. I will try shielding the CAS wires more, and some other ground tweaks. And here is a before and after of timing error vs RPM: Using the 6 slot CAS: Using the (12-1)*2 CAS wheel: But either way, the AFRS are a steady 10.5 under high load, so I'm still beating on it trying get other things broken: I am going to switch out wastegate springs to a "8 psi" one. Which will probably end up being 10psi, since the "14 psi" spring in it now results in 17.5 psi. My boost controller has been off to run the spring pressure.
  22. About 2 MPG. Max horsepower is only very loosely correlated to MPG. If you tune the low load areas right, you can get good MPG.
  23. Right now I just have it using the 24-2 (or 24-1-1 or whatever) wheel--the main one. I haven't hooked up the "cam" part yet, the second trigger. I already had it running on the OE wheel, so I just swapped it, changed the settings and "vroom". It's a 5v square wave signal that needs to be pulled up to 12v for MS.
