  1. A couple friends of mine in California used that service once and got ripped. One friend of mine ordered and paid for a front clip and when he got it pieces of it was missing. When he questioned they said you didn't pay for the pieces that came extra on the front clip i.e. steering rack, fenders, m/c... I would beware...
  2. That's why he is Japanese... I can only assume someone took care of his transaction or he has a bank account in Japan. Some will only ship in country then it's up to whoever you know in country to ship it to the states. Shipping from Japan is outrageous. Shipping from a military base is the way to go, much cheaper then shipping from outside the installation gate. Let me clarify. If he has a bank account in Japan of course they will ship out of county and some cases they may not. If I have a bank account at (example) Bank of America and I want to buy a part from the site most banks won't convert funds and do electronic deposit in the banks (in Japan) that are out of the US banking system network. If the day comes when Yahoo Auctions Japan accept foreign paying services (i.e. Paypal) it will make the transaction much easier. Most people I know like David K has a friend living in county that bid on items and are paid US Dollars from the states. It's a lot easier to give a friend in Japan cash and have them deal with the seller directly by means of converting dollars to yen using your friends in country Japan bank account then they can pay the seller. They play a middle man and some make a good living at it too.
  3. I love it don't get me wrong, to bad you don't see the parts and cars for sale over here like that. It must be nice to have a friend bid on items for you. I have some friends that are over in Japan but I haven't worked your angle yet. To bad the banking systems are different the Japanese could make a killing if they could ship out of county. I have been looking for 2 15x8 XR-4 Longchamps I wonder if your friend could help me out? :)

  5. Mikey, The Ken and Mary is coming along great. So is the whole thing painted or just the engine bay? Need more pics, have you updated cardomain? On my end, my Ross pistons finally came in, Wats have been on for a while check out the thread if you missed it. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/...ead.php?t=18850 All other parts are purchased just waiting for the motor to finish so I can start assembly. I was just out in your neck of the woods last week for 4 days in Huntington Beach. I met a guy who has a sweet 240Z w/ RB25DET that I am thinking about to compliment my L6 Turbo. I am still trying to track down 2 15x8 XR-4 no luck so far.... Later,

  7. 25 years or older for DOT and 23 years or older for EPA. In a few years I am planning to get a Hakosuka again. To bad I sold my last one idiot, idiot...
  8. Yea the Twin Turbo Trust Kit went to a guy named Curtis in California. He bought that mustard color Fairlady from Les at classicdatsun. Pistons have been on order for 2 weeks (Ross) should be another 2 weeks before there in. In the meantime, the head is getting finished in waiting for the pistons to come in. I ported and polished it and brought it back to my machinist for the valve job and order of the Ferrera valves.
  9. You are right, Konig would make a killing if they would get off the 14x7, 15x7 only size kick. I am sure they would give RS Watanabe a run for there money but in the end they just are not Watanabe's. I wonder what Konig would charge for the same size we have NZeder? You pay for what you get and boy did I pay but I look and drool at the end result. Now all I need is to get the L28ET in and paint next year and I will be golden.
  10. Right now they do. I just purchased stiffer springs for the rear and I plan on raising it some. Hopefully this will cure it before the overfenders go on.

  19. .60 worked and it cleaned up. Now it's time to decide on the C/R so we can get the pistons ordered. I have looked into Ross and when I called I was told for turbo application to use the tapered wall pins. Does anyone have anything bad to say about Ross pistons? Back to C/R according to my Sydney Z Car Club L series engine calculator on a L28 base line w/ P90 head, HKS 2mm and .60 overbore using flattop pistons the C/R is 8.24:1, using dished pistons yielded 7.21:1. All the reading I have done says to keep the C/R between 8 - 8.50:1 is this a fair estimation? My machinist lives by the John Lingenfelter book and he was explaining the squish theory (.40-.50) that I should have some room from the top of the block to the bottom of the cylinder head. He also suggested to maybe use a HKS 1mm verses the 2mm to allow me some more play. So what I am asking is what should I use flattop pistons, dished, or a custom flattop with a D shaped dished (his suggestion)? I want to make sure I am not over looking anything since this is my first build.
  20. HKS It's not a bad price, that is where I got my HKS 2mm from. Courtesey has it for the same price: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=11044-91MM2&Category_Code=
