Take bumpers, turn signals.

So I put msns on, and it runs a LOT better. My idle still fluctuates a bit.. maybe 1-1.5 but that used to be like 4-5 afrs it would surge. Im going to hook up my turbo dist soon enough to utilize spark control. Much happier with my car now.

New air dam on.. Chasing down a miss in boost righht now, I think its my coil. Edit: Turned out to be my dist.. this is a different dist than my last setup, I am now using a e12-80. I didn't realize that in a '82, there is 30 degrees of advancement from the vacuum advance. So when I was going into boost / full throttle it would go to 0 degrees BTDC.. Now I have it locked at 25 and it pulls great! I will be switching over to the 82-83 dist and utilizing spark control in the very near future.

With the new airdam on.. I like the way it looks.

Bins are the same around idle. I believe my opening time is correct i have 440 7mgte injectors .9 opening time

+1 on the stroker 3.2 with tripples.. those things are sick and put out more HP than stock rb20s.

The stock 240z Alternator cannot handle electric fans. Switch over to a zx alternator.

I cant get it to idle nice. It surges the whole time.. Just not as bad. I believe that mat tempature is correct. I am using the gm iat sensor. I was sitting for a bit. I am also using a j pipe

I bought two from them (first time bought the wrong one, sold it at break even to another member) and then bought the correct one. Slow shipping.. but for 150 bucks.. you can't complain

Good news, I had my father install the "dave capacitor" and it totally killed my RPM spike. I am still having a surging idle though. Im hoping that is tune related. I added my datalog just in case you see something. datalog201206072020.rar

I thought I'd give this a bump. I recently transplanted my engine into a new chassis and got a chance to double check all wiring. Everything is wired correctly, all grounds good.. etc. It's still doing this.. I really am considering just ripping megasquirt out and going with another ECU (Z31)

Personally unless he put some cash on top to buy a big turbo (if thats what you are after) i wouldnt do it.

Finally got to drive her.. Rides pretty stiff but i like it. Handles so much better than my 280z...

What mods to the RB? HP numbers?

15 years down the line I think our parts availability might even get better with the return of datsun in some countries.

Put new wheels on, 15x7(225/50s) with tokico suspension. I think it looks pretty good, happy I went with 225s over the 205s.
