Your right. It wil be expensive but it is soo effective that you don't need much of it at all. I may be able to get some refuse, scraps, or even some samples to use to make a prototype.
I just made up another sketch. I'll upload it in a minute. If you like big open front ends you will like it. Just remember that all of this stuff is interchangable so if you like the rear flare of one car and the front flare from another sketch and then another air dam from another car they can all be made into one sketch if you wish.
Keep it coming guys! great stuff!
very good job. I still think your diffuser should be in the proper 7 degree-11 degree angle operating range. Once you pass 11 then effectiveness drops off. Car looks great!
oh dear...just cut it all out and weld in some new stuff. Or have it welded in if you can't weld or don't have the gear. I think it runs underneath that other piece. I am not exacty sure.
I think both of us are getting better at sketches...Just if there were a couple more members that would jump in with their own renderings...
Good Job on that one. Your bumper looks like an exrtruded 240Z bumper...interesting.
clunk...things that could be bad: front diff mount, control arm bushings, moustache bar bushings, U-joints...but next time search...you will get flamed if you don't.
I have seen an SR-71 at the alabama NASA "base" and it is really cool. I guess it would beat an SR-20 any day of the week... I digress. Time to go make more sketches...
Open for all sketchers...even if they like to draw 280ZXs...lol
That showcars part looks like a stock FG fender and then something added onto it.
I don't really like that last boxed fender set. Looks out of place. I thought of making (sketching) a front end that had flares like those Japanese GT 350Zs.
yeah...I thought that about the HX.
Your car has a pretty clean turbo setup...plus it sounds great! Can't imagine doing a motor swap in the street like you did though. (parents not likeing my engine taking up the WHOLE garage...uh-oh)
I'm working on a new sketch now...
I feel that the front end should accent the sides of the car so I usually do the sides and flares first.
I like the stock length front end but it has bad aerodynamics. For an autox car it doesn't matter but I digress. I'll put up some more ideas tonight.
that is what I was kinda thinking. This will be redone for sure as a smaller, more suitable flare. This idea just came across my brain and I had to draw it. Also came up with some other more stylish flares...
inspiration:
I have had some ideas for a new bodykit for a first gen Z. Does anyone have some special ideas they would like to see in a sketch? I have some new ideas that are very different than anything else seen on a first gen Z.
Here is a sneak peek at one of my ideas. It is exagerated a bit but all prototypes are...I am going to add some sort of fender under the top piece to keep junk off the body.
Hmm. I have heard a lot about that book so I'll probably go get it.
No problem about the paint...Zs look mean flat black...then again they look mean dark candy blue...
My main thing for this low (for hybridZ) power level is knowing my drivetrain will go boom if I go much higher. I will eventualy get the L28 motor and build it but I figure I can get started on my L26 and if I blow it up, so what? If it blows then I just blew up an engine that was the red-headed stepchild of them all.
then the built block can go in and just run LOW boost until I can afford the rest of the drivetrain.
Megasquirt is what I am going to use since I can solder really good and my Dad is an Electrical Engineer it will be no problem for us to build the system.
Turbo... looking at a holset HY35 or HX40... still undecided as of yet.
