  1. I didn't copy any particular type...just making my version of boxed fenders. My Dad has a 944 so I know what those look like. Here is the latest safari rally monza-ish monster:
  2. oh I remember you talking about the dash now...and i your vid. DUH.. and I bet that thing is going to make a mega load of power...turbo? supercharged? Both???
  3. This is the monster Z...it says: Rice for breakfast Ponies for lunch Stallions for dinner L35DETTT...yep..triple turbo I finished it at midnight last night...
  4. I still want to see the gerbil that is going to power this awesome rollcage around the mountain roads of Sweden... Very good design there Mull. Hope it won't be needed. Nice dash bar too. What dash are you going to use in Hugo?
  5. Zfury: I think everyone likes the YZ kit but most people can't afford all the pieces that go with it. mopar69: I'm not trying to divide the HybridZ community into bodykit and non bodykit people. All of these sketches can be toned down. Maybe I'll do one with stock fenders and just work on an air dam and skirts. I personally believe that no rear skirt should be used because the part of your car that gets sen the most is the rear end and it should be clean and smooth. I have had the idea of extending the rear pan down 3 more inches to cover the stock gas tank for asthetics. Wingnutthehutt: Cool! glad to have you on board! can't wait to see yourt ideas! DrEaM: Yes that is a great looking front end and I like it a LOT! Boobala: I agree that a mostly stock Z body with an air dam can look great. This is HybridZ though. We are not all purists. What would you like to see in a kit? Maybe some stock looking flares but extra tire coverage? Imagine the flares on "La Belle" except much smaller.
  6. welcome to where stock won't cut it...we will try to convince you to do an S30 with one of your ZX drivetrains...best of both worlds... lol...I used to want a stock Z and then I was transformed...
  7. How about a group B boxed fender set? I think more people should do rally-inspired kits. I'll draw one up. Veritech did a group B drawing a while back and I want to give my hand at it. It will be gnarly, fierce, and insane looking.
  8. I don't know about the voltage guage on the steering wheel but the paint job is AMAZING! Maybe if it was an oil pressure guage... anyway your car has had faster progress than almost any other Z that I have seen.
  9. I have had a similar idea. click link Intercooler would be horizontal exhausting in the low pressure area on the Z's hood. should be no problem with an Aluminium Rad and an electric fan.
  10. DUDE!!!I have been looking for a welding hood like that forever!!! I just have the cheapo electronic ones that tend to flash you at low amperage TIG... I guess a roll cage means Hugo will have a mean little gerbil under the hood...
  11. maybe he touched the outside of the lens when it was turned on and it did not focus properly and was focusing inside the lens...
  12. Well that is what happens when you flash with low battery. I have the same thing happen with a 5 year old Digital camera and my new camera. It only happens to me when it is really dark, the flash is on, and the battery is low. Here is an example: this is with my new credit card-sized 5 megapixel camera.
  13. Maverick finished up: arg! quarter window looks like a ZX... and a little sweetie... "La Belle"
  14. I really like the shape but my fenders have been wrecked twice. The driver side fender has a grapefruit sized rust hole and is nowhere near straight. It has 75' 280Z written on the inside of the fender. The passenger side one I flared too much. Maybe I can de-flare it just a little. Fenders are cheap and eventually I will get some new ones with flares but I can smooth mine out a little to make them look ok. For those of you that did not know the paint is rustoleum.
  15. you should have seen mine! about 4 exhaust leaks!!! When I pulled my carbs and header it came off in several pieces
  16. drivers side wheels... I'll upload a more completed version. It has a top mount intercooler on the passenger side. I think that ducts should be used because I had my brake fluid boil once and that was scary. Pedal went way in and no brakes...I just downshifted to slow down with what little brake I had. I just got on a long straight road and let the lines cool off.
  17. except my free flares look like poo doo... I am diggin' those wheels and flares on the camaro.
  18. oops...just a minute. BTU·ft/hr·ft2·° F: 65 if you can decipher that
  19. Exactly Veritech. I worked on Maverick some more and a new variant just from the same view. Closed up front end, modified flares similar to ZGs, nice spoiler. I'll scan it in a few minutes. I'll do a crazy race car body kit sketch tonight.
  20. Got a more subtle one in the works. I am shooting in the dark because I am not sure what is desired. The current one has a whale tail but I'll do a shrunken BRE type as well. Just playing with the different combinations.
  21. I'll post a video of it...maybe. Here are the numbers... if you can figure that out. I have seen it first hand and what it can do.
  22. The Joy is you can mix and match all of these parts to make your favorite kit. I am undecided about the whale tail. If you have the JCR/Scarab kit you have to use it just because...If you mount the whale tail anywhere other than the very bottom of the hatch it looks like a curly mullet...In my personal opinion. personally, I like a car either with lots of vents along the front of the body or smooth and curvy. Still don't see any flares or over-fenders that I would like on my car, for the street. Now if I build a race car one day IMSA flares would be awesome. I think something similar to maverick would work fo me but with a very much more closed up front end. The fenders can't just look like cut outs from a 55 gallon drum welded to the side of the car. I have seen a couple poeple that want a more subtlekit. What lines would you like? soft flowing lines like the ferrari-mercedes style or something to bring out the strong agressive lines that the Z already has? Boobala: I'll try to make a sketch of your idea today. Sounds interesting. Do you like the one on maverick but without the brake ducts? I think the bottom lip on maverick should be thicker just to stiffen it up some. here are some older sketches from the other sketches thread a while back. forgive the ugliness...I was still learning to draw at the time.. do y'all like anything from this Z33 widebody that could be pulled into a S30 sketch? teh fender gap is an interesting way to vent off engine bay pressure if you cut holes out in your battery area.
