  1. http://www.geocities.jp/pbwteramoto/ostc24.html oh yeah...this is sweet!!! this shop also does mull quality+ body work!
  2. 1st. sitting on grass. That makes Zs rust very fast. Notice that riveted on piece... that is bad enough...the gas tank has a 95% chance that it has a hole rusted through it. look at that...you can see the inside of the wheelwell! you don't want that beast... it is worse off than Mull's Z was! may I suggest: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977-DATSUN-280Z-79K-miles-NICE-PROJECT-CAR-No-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ130014268013QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-Datsun-280Z_W0QQitemZ130013482503QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or even this basket case... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/datsun-280z-nissan-280zx-240-260-280-300_W0QQitemZ330012646855QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. he was going 50 in first gear? you would have to have a 3.36 differential and a ZX tranny plus revving the motor to over 8k RPMs to be going 50 in first gear...That car is junk. I think $50 is a good price to remove the carbs and trash the rest.
  4. I am doing the same thing basically. Makes it much better looking I think!
  5. love the sound at 1:08Into te vid! sounds very european! lol.
  6. Now pull the 10-15 pounds of tar paper out of the car...When I pulled the harness out of my car I was suprised how much weight in wire I had. Holding up the engine bay harness it seemed about 20 pounds if not more! It is not reduced to about 3-5 pounds of wire and conduit. None of my new harness goes through the engine bay either. Much cleaner looking!
  7. hmm... I still am poor as my beater days... but my beater days are over I just have to participate in the graduation ceremony which means throwing away my rustoleum. I am just poor and don't want my car to rust away...I'll get my nice paint job sometime...Probably do it myself which means I need an air compressor. And all that other stuff.
  8. well since copper is really valuable...at my school where I got my welding diploma me and a few other guys would make a weekly trip to the dumpster. One time we found an electrical cabinet that had like 50lbs of copper in it...we went dumpster diving pulling copper and aluminium out to sell off as scrap.
  9. I just love the BRE style paint job. I like the light blue top instead of red. I may get some light blue and white rustoleum an go crazy with it.
  10. the whole system is like 10-12 pounds plus the weight of the extra antifreeze...maybe 15 pounds max. I pulled mine just because of doing a custom dash and don't really need the heater. I am going to install a fan system so that I can have some air circulation. One good heater is just run your exhaust pipe right next to the transmission tunnel. It heats up the cabin nicely during the winter as long as you don't have TOO many air leaks.
  11. Is this on the 78? I'll look in my manual. I have no clue... Maybe it changes the flow rate when your at W.O.T. to cool better?
  12. I think I have seen pictures of it before. What is that tag on the front?
  13. great thread! My setup is: Illuminas, 225lb/in front, 250lb/in rear. No rear swaybar (removed) and stock front (unfortunately). I am also running poly bushings (the rear control arms were fun to install with the new bushings! lol). I had my front struts on 4 and the rears on 3 thinking that since the front was harder it would grab sooner. haha... I would understeerlike crazy!!! I then swapped the font to 3 and the rears to 4 and it is VERY neutral! I still have to finish my suspesion off with weld in camber plates, bigger sway bars, strut bars... I don't see how that 240Z could be good handling with a difference of spring rates front to back. 400 front, 250 rear sounds like a lot. I guess it depends onthe settings the car has though. I was going to do my first autox event this summer but my engine decided it had enough already.
  14. now you just need a pull switch on the shifter. Looks good though. I ran my car looking worse than that for a while...I just don't have a V8.
  15. I saw somewhere that the darius 240z was near completion. It also showed a bunch of vipers burning out...
  16. my wheels have an extra "safety bead" so that if the tire blows it holds tire near the edge of the rim. It wasfun watching the ~140lb dude trying to lift the tire over the bead...lol *edit* Austin, where did you get your wats and how much did they put you back? They look real good. Definitely better than my NASCAR type wheels...lol
  17. sent you a PM 240Hoke... Unfotunately they don't have FSAE at the college I am going to but maybe I can get it started. I have also done everything on my Z except changing the tires. Even for that I was standingright there making sure they did not scratch my powdercoated rims. Feels good to know that everything on the car is right since you did it.
  18. you need to get that car out of that field!!!!Really good looking though! for rattle cans!
  19. I doubt it is subtitled. The only thing that sort of ruins it for me is the stickers on the fender. The manga had the Devil Z cleaner looking IMO than this version. I was thinking it should look closer to 240hoke's Z than a NASCAR...
  20. wangan midnight live action video... on japan ebay. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k34814319 I think that is around $30
  21. plus it rides so much better with polyurethane bushings...and it is like $20 for the rear bushings. Not a bad price for the improvement in ride quality. Much cheaper than buying new shocks and still having a bad ride. If you still have the noise then check out axles and other stuff. Check moustache bar tightness and that the diff is tight on the moustache bar etc..
  22. I don't know if your ZX is the same as my S30 but I had to remove the rear interior panel to get the side panels out.
  23. knowing oother drawings you have posted and looking at this one... The BRE spoiler looks better to me. Maybe a little wider would be good.Bring it all the way to the edge of the body like it does on a standard width Z body.
