Come on guys...
There is no reason to make this political and get the thread tool shedded.
Just don't buy Chinese turbos because they break and leave it at that.
I want people to see this just incase they don't know that there are cheap Holset copies out there.

I suggest getting the book Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. He talks about all kinds of turbo stuff including EFI, Blow through, and draw through setups. If you can, EFI is the best for tunability(laptop)
Blow through sort of indicates that you want to use carbs...In which case you most likly won't use a turbo intake manifold.
SU carbs are pretty much useless for a blow through. There is a thread about that. A pair of Downdraft webers would work and so would and triple sidedrafts since they can be setup for boost.
Lots of cool flares... and a minimal windshield.
I'm probably going to have some kirkey seats in it to sit as low as possible but maybe put my Eclipse seats in it when using the car as a DD.
I have to have wipers to be legal though...
hmm...
I'm picking up a Datsun Roadster soon and am wondering if anyone knows the minimum windshield height for the DOT.
I'm in GA so they are VERY lax on old cars and don't inspect them at all(My Z..BWAHAHAHA). I just don't want to get pulled over a lot for having a small windshield.
So does anyone know the minimum height if there is one?
Thanks!

You would need to come up with a torque converter and flexplate that will work with the auto transmission.
The Q45 auto transmission is the same thing with a different bellhousing. They can be upgraded to hold about 800 horsepower and be manually shifted.
IPT does rebuilds and sells the performance parts...

I thought that the point of the S/C was to make up for the lag of the bigger turbo? That way you can have the S/C making low RPM boost while the turbo makes higher RPM boost where the S/C is inefficient.
Exactly.

And just because the G-nose didn't do well on the aero doesn't mean that it is either junk or not worth pursuing.
My G-nose would be more pointy from a top view and the front air dam would be vertical from the very front edge of the "bumper". The "bumper" would also be blended into the rest of the front end to be as smooth as possible.
By "modern version" I meant an updated and more sorted out version that has not yet been produced. Not some cheap copy. Getting an original G-nose is just about impossible for those of us with rather small budgets for bodywork anyway.
For $500 I could probably create a single G-nose that could have much less drag and lift than any G-nose that came from Nissan or comparble aftermarket vendor.
Albiet it would probably not be good for one of TonyD's land speed cars because it would be too different from the original piece.
Neither would it be good for a show car.
I have posted about my modified G-nose idea in more detail before on HBZ.
I HIGHLY doubt that many people here on HybridZ are trying to produce an "era correct" race car but are looking to create a new, more aerodynamic Z car body that looks good and is functional for mild street use and heavy track use.
Wether someone uses a period correct G-nose or some modern version couldn't matter a bit, just that it works is the important thing.
